21 Itachi, Please Keep It a Secret

While Yuta stands somewhere outside of the academy in a secluded place waiting for Itachi and thinking of his new plan, Itachi finally appears, walking in the direction of Uchiha clan compound.

'I hope it turns well and I won't have to redo it later. Usually in the novels of my previous world, protagonists in this kind of situations always keep the knowledge of the coming plot as their biggest secret. And their reason for that is that they can't bear the consequences if something goes wrong.'

'But my situation is a bit different, in the worst case I just have to spend some time redoing things. And the time for me is just a resource that I have unlimited amount of.'

'Well, it's not like there are no risks at all, but I think the risks are minimal with this. I only need less than a second to activate time travel after all.'

When Itachi comes closer, Yuta comes out in the open and confronts Itachi. Itachi seems surprised that someone suddenly appears in his way. Itachi briefly looks around and finds that there is not a single person in the vicinity.

It's a desolate road with training grounds on both sides, on the way between academy and Uchiha clan compound that was relocated to the edge of the village a few years ago.

Itachi doesn't look concern or annoyed by the sudden situation and keeps his calm demeanor. The boy in front of Itachi seems around his age, just a little shorter.

"Who are you? What is the meaning of this?" Itachi asks with a neutral tone, vigilant for any sudden attack that might happen.

Yuta activates his sensory technique to make sure there is no one around, and after he didn't feel any chakra signature around except him and Itachi, he starts to speak.

"My name is Yuta, I'm in the class A-2, the second year student of the academy. I want to speak to you in private, will you mind?" Yuta speaks calmly with a serious expression.

Itachi can see that Yuta is a little nervous and uneasy about the situation, it's clear to Itachi that whatever Yuta want's to speak to him is of important matter for him.

"Sure" Itachi responded, he recalls that name, Yuta, he heard about him at the academy, Yuta is the top student of the previous year at the academy. "The least I can do is to hear what you want to say."

With that Itachi relaxes and puts his guard down a little. Now it's not just a stranger that confronted him at desolate place with unknown motives. Now it's the fellow older student that wants to speak to him about something important.

Hearing that Yuta smiles a little and nods, after that Yuta grabs a paper sealing tag from his pocket and places it on the ground. A complete mess of lines and unreadable symbols can be seeing on the sealing tag.

Yuta places his hand on the tag and activates it with small impulse of chakra, and the tag starts glowing a little. With that the outside sounds is completely cut of, and some distortion appears around both of them in a small radius, obstructing the line of sight and making the both of them looks blurred from the outside.

As Itachi looks surprised by it, Yuta briefly explains his actions.

"It's a privacy seal that I created. With that no one will be able to eavesdrop on us."

Itachi looks a bit concerned. "Is this really necessary? And this level of fuinjutsu mastery, it's not looks like something that is taught in the academy."

Yuta smiles a little sheepishly while he gets up from the ground.

"I learned the fuinjutsu by myself, there are a lot of materials on fuinjutsu at the academy library, and it seems like I have a talent for that."

'Yep, definitely a talent, a talent that called 'Unlimited Time for Training', but details is not important.'

"Well you see, with the matter that I want to ask your help with, I will have to reveal to you my biggest secret, and if the information about it leaks, I will be killed soon after."

Itachi looks shocked hearing that, he is not expecting to be involved in such matters so suddenly after he joined the academy only a few days before.

'Well, what I about to tell Itachi is not exactly the truth, but it's not like I can reveal the truth to him either, there is too much nonsense involved in it. So I still have to lie to him after all, well, there is no way around that it seems. It's the closest thing to the truth anyway.'

"Why do you think that way?" Itachi asks with concern, "Is that secret of yours is putting the village in danger?"

"No, not at all. It's the other way around." Yuta calmly replied, "The village can benefit greatly by making a good use of it. But there is some shinobi in the dark that will not be happy about it, and they will find out about me soon after I report it to the Lord Third, and I will be killed shortly after that."

After a brief pause Yuta continues.

"I can't trust anyone with this. By telling even this much to you I already gamble with my own life. But rest assured, I mean no harm to the village, I just want to find a way to protect it and not getting killed in the process."

'Well, there is not a single lie in this statement. I did want to protect the village and not get killed, that much is truth. The village is my home and base of operation after all, what the benefits for me if it gets harmed or destroyed? And there indeed the risks for my life by revealing my 'secret', it's just that the risks are insignificant and everything can be fixed.'

'I'm not afraid to ruin the plot either. The value of the knowledge of the plot is not that great with me going back and forth through the timeline after all.'

'I like Itachi's personality and don't really want him to become that cold and ruthless person that he will be after the massacre. And the benefits that I can get by keeping him in the village and resolving the Uchiha conflict is too great, so I will try to do just that.'

"Well Itachi, will you keep it a secret? Will you listen to what I have to say?"

Itachi looks concerned about the situation. "What you will do if I refuse to keep it a secret, will you kill me?"

'That is not what I wanted to hear. Well, I hope it will go back on the right track in the end.'

"No, getting in to the fight with the only person I can trust with my secret is the last thing I want. I chose this desolate place only for the privacy reasons. If you decide to turn me in, I will only have my bad luck to blame for it." Yuta replied with calm and resolute expression.

'I thought it will go easier than that…'

"Fine" Itachi responded and seemingly calmed down, "If this is not puts the village in danger I promise to keep your secret. You can tell it me already."

'Well, that's more like it.'

As Yuta sigh with relief, he speaks, "Itachi, do you believe in Fate?"

Hearing that Itachi seems surprised again, where is that coming from? "Fate? You mean the belief about that the life and death of a person is predetermined with Fate? I didn't really think about that before, but if you ask me, I don't really believe in that."

"I understand." Yuta replied with slight nod, "You see, the Fate I was talking about, is not something that set in stone, it can be changed if you know about it beforehand."

"What are you trying to tell me?" Itachi said after a brief pause, "You want to tell me that you know about someone's fate and you want to change it?"

"You are right. What I want to tell you, is that I can foresee someone's fate, and if I act on that acquired knowledge, it can be changed. I think it's some sort of a Kekkei Genkai I awakened. But I'm not yet get used to it, all I can see is a brief images from time to time, but even that is giving me some concerning information already."

Itachi looks puzzled for some time, then he asks, "And you decided to report it to the Hokage, but you forfeit this plan when you get the image of you dying shortly after."

"Exactly" Yuta replied, "From what I can foresee, there is only a vague images of the future with not much details, but I was able to foresee my own death in the near future very clearly. As you can tell, I already confirmed that my visions are real, there is information in them that I couldn't know other way. The information in the visions is vague but always the truth of what is coming."

'How am I able to say so much nonsense with a straight face? Maybe I have some talent after all, it's just that it's a different type of talent, haha. Well, It's not all a lie, I can 'foresee' the future after all, it's just the foreseeing is me remembering the plot from my previous life, not that much of a difference in it, is it?'

"That is amazing ability!" Itachi said loudly with wide eyes, "With that ability of yours many lives can be saved!"

"You are right, Itachi, but how do I do that if I'm only just an academy student with no baking and no real power to change the future? And if I report to the higher-ups I will be killed.", Yuta shaken his head in slight regret.

"That is why I approached you with this. You, Itachi, are the only person in my reach that I can ask for help. I was able to foresee that you are very talented person, and you will become Genin in just a year. If we team up, I believe that we will be able to make a difference and save many lives."

Yuta smiled sheepishly and continued, "Well, this ability of mine is not that powerful and I can't control it yet, but I'm sure that it can be put in to good use with your help, what do you think about this, Itachi?"

'I'm not going to drop the bombshell of the Uchiha clan massacre on him any time soon anyway, so I will just keep it going slow and simple for the time being.'

[AN: Why am I feeling nervous and anxious instead of Yuta about approaching Itachi? I'm just writing the story after all, I can turn it any way I want! That is a strange experience to me…
