9 Meeting at the Academy

Naruto woke up the next morning feeling a bit refreshed. He did his daily routine of going out for a morning run. Once he circled the whole village he would go back to his apartment to shower, then change into clean clothing before eating his breakfast and then go to the academy.

Naruto started to look forward to going to the academy. The scar faced teacher, Umino Urika, started to hold back his hostile glares. Sometimes he would look at him with mixed feeling and then shake his head. Naruto didn't know what was happening to the academy instructor, as he would sometimes feel the man's chakra being in a jumbles mess.

It seemed that he was suffering internal conflict.

Well, Naruto didn't care as because of that, the scar faced man started to actually teach him instead of just ignoring him. By far, making him his favorite academy instructor.

It took him a full fifteen minutes jumping through the roofs before finally making it to the academy. He entered the gates and soon navigated himself to his room.

Opening the door, he glanced around. Only two people were inside, Uchiha Sasuke and Aburame Shino. Both turned to look at him before retracting their gazes, Naruto ignored both of them and went to the back of the class. His seat was often at the back next to the window. When waiting for class to start he would always stair out of the window and watch the birds fly or the occasional shinobi blurring through the rooftops.

----

Yamanaka Ino entered the academy as she kept her eye out. Analyzing the various students, trying to look for a boy with red hair. She didn't immediately go to her class as she thought of the possibility that the boy could belong to another class.

After twenty minutes of no progress she heard a voice from behind.

"Ino-pig! What's got you so worked up, don't think I'll let you anywhere Sasuke-kun!" Hearing that, Ino rolled her eyes as she clutched onto the small storage scroll in her hand.

She turned to look at the pink haired girl the same age as her with a tired expression. "Sorry Sakura, I can't be bothered to argue with you today. I have something important to do" Ino said as she directly turned and left.

As much as she wanted to try and mend their relationship, Ino prioritized on finding the person that saved her life.

"...." Haruno Sakura was shocked. She was stunned by how her former friend and now rival acted. She acted so... nonchalant, as if she didn't care about her precious Sasuke-kun at all!

...

...

...

Seeing as she still had no luck on finding her savior, she sighed and walked towards her classroom. She clutched onto the storage scroll that stored a bento she made herself. She woke up early just to prepare one, as a 'thank you' for not only saving her, but helping her get the flowers as well.

Shaking her head she entered the room. Coincidently she felt a gust of wind from the open window. She looked towards the open window and felt her heat beat faster. She froze as she felt the world around her fade as her vision just solely focused on the red head seated next to the window.

The boy she was looking for, was there, his head turned as he calmly looked at the scenery before him. The gust of wind making his red hair and the long bangs on each side of his head flutter making him look especially pleasant to her.

"Ino-pig!"

"Hey, hello?! Can you not block the door!"

She only then snapped out of it when she heard her former best friend calling out to her. She turned and said a small apology before making a beeline towards the boy.

"Wait, what's gotten into you?!"

She ignored everything around her. Before she knew it she was already in front his desk. She saw from the corner of her eyes that most of her classmates were watching her with various looks of confusion. She took them out of her thoughts before focusing on the person in front of her.

It seemed that he sensed her presence as he turned his head her way and locked contact with him. Before she could get lost in the dazzling blue eyes from yesterday she heard him speak.

"It's you? So I see you managed to get home safely?" He asked calmly, she nervously nodded as he looked at her with confusion. He tilted his head in a way she thought was cute before he answered again.

"Hmm? You're not acting like your usual self, Yamanaka-san. Are you alright?" He asked.

"I-I... " She started but her voice wouldn't come out.

"What is it?"

No matter how she tried she really couldn't get a single word out her mouth. Biting her lips as she fought a blush from the embarrassment. She put the scroll on top of his desk before unrolling it and sending chakra to it.

*Poof!*

With a poof, a small neatly packaged bento came out. With that she took it and placed it in front him before she tried her hardest to tell him her words.

"I-I MADE THIS FOR YOU, THANKS FOR YESTERDAY!!" She said before she turned, her hear beating erratically before she quickly walked to where she would normally sit in.

-----

Naruto gazed at the girl in front of his desk with curiosity. Of course that was on the inside, on the outside he kept his usual calm front. He's been sensing that Yamanaka Ino's chakra were going haywire. As if she couldn't keep her emotions in check.

She then put the scroll on top of his desk before unrolling it and sending chakra to it. A small bento came out before she placed it in front of him.

It was a surprising gesture, but her next words caught him off guard.

"I-I MADE THIS FOR YOU, THANKS FOR YESTERDAY!!"

He looked at the girl in front of him, her expression, her face... she was sporting an obvious blush that even the densest person could see.

"...."

He opened his mouth but before he could speak, she turned around swiftly and sped to her usual seat.

'She... this girl is she perhaps...' He thought as his mouth was agape. He shifted his gaze towards the handmade bento before looking back at the girl's seated back. He had various questions going through his mind.

Like 'why was she acting funny?'

'The bento was for him?'

'Ah, it must be her way of repaying him...'

or 'Why was she acting funny?' She was certainly acting like a maiden trying to talk to her cru-

'.....wait' Naruto thought as he looked between the bento and Yamanaka Ino's seated figure.

*Ba-dump*

His gaze was on her for a long time before he shifted back outside. Though he rested his cheek on his hand and made sure no one saw his face. He had a faint blush on his cheeks reminiscent to the color of his hair.

'What the hell? Why does she have to suddenly act like a normal girl for?' Naruto thought as he fought to hide his blush.

'Hmph! I don't know what you're planning, Yamanaka Ino, but I won't fall for it!' He swore in his heart.
