130 S2 Ch 37 (Ch 126) : To the land of water

- A few days later -

On the ship to the water country, Karin and Hibachi looked curiously at Sanada's new appearance.

He was now posing as a fat merchant, and he took out some rare ores that he got from the land of wind as his commodity.

The ores had an intriguing property. Even though they were not like the Gelel Stone, which could produce energy, these ores had the property to self-repair whenever they got damaged by being exposed to blood. If this metal is used to make other weapons, they should have a similar property.

" Sensei, do you want to build a weapon there?"

Asked Hibachi innocently, but he was quickly greeted by Karin's fist.

" Idiot, obviously it's not for that. Can you see that Sensei is disguising himself as a merchant? It was obvious that his goal was to check the situation of the land of water first. To be able to get an advantage on delegacy negotiation, one must have a certain understanding of the land."

Sanada heard Karin's explanation and nodded. It seemed that during the few months that he was away, Karin had learned a lot of things in Konoha.

At first, Sanada just wanted Karin to focus on one or two things, but it would be a waste to her Uzumaki trait after some consideration. For someone like Karin, who was an Uzumaki and was able to handle countless shadow clones, these periods were the best for her to grow, and Sanada obviously wanted to take advantage of these.

In the training journal that he had left for Karin, other than sealing jutsu, ninjutsu, and taijutsu, he also tasked her to learn about the basic knowledge of the five Ninja Villages and if she could, some other bits of knowledge.

Back to Sanada, he felt it was a bit of shame to use the precious ore like this. Still, Sanada felt no need for a weapon. He was way more comfortable with his lightning and water blade, and if things came to it, his system would provide a better weapon.

He could actually make some weapon for his disciples, but the blood-absorbing property of this ore was too gory, and Sanada couldn't think of any of his disciples that would suit a weapon with this property.

"But Sensei, I didn't expect you to be so rich. The ores are very rare, and it is a rare occurrence to see them in the market!" Karin said with a smile.

"Hahahaha... let's say that a certain girl forced me to take them as she said that she has nothing to offer than these ores..."

Not long after, the sailing ship was finally able to see the shadow of a big island.

Sanada saw this and was relieved. Even though he was a master of water, it would still be pretty bad if they were ambushed in the middle of the sea.

The boat had traveled the sea for several days before reaching the Water Country.

The Country was far from the mainland and surrounded by the sea. It was mainly formed of several islands.

Because of its location and lack of communication with the outside world, exchanges with other countries relied on maritime trade.

That was the main source of income for the Country as well. Because it was surrounded by fish-rich waters, many merchants bartered said fish with all sorts of other goods and necessities.

But everything changed since Obito or Madara took control of the Mizukage.

They implemented the blood-mist rule, and Kirigakure had been weakened a lot since then. Until Mei and its revolutionary troop were successful in their coup d'etat.

Sanada's goal this time was two.

One was to check the condition of the land of water and report it to Konoha, and second, was to confirm the intention of Kirigakure.

Different from the other villages, it would be bad if Kirigakure were to suddenly launch an attack on Konoha via the seas.

Still, Sanada, who had read the manga, knew that this probably would not happen in the near future, but he still chose to come here as he also wanted to visit the land of water.

At any given time, dozens of other ships were sailing the sea around their ship.

Usually, because there were just too many ships going in and out of the Country, the Ninjas responsible of monitoring them were not too serious. They usually just glanced at them then let them pass.

But this time was different, Kiri had just finished their coup, so Mei, as their leader decided to be a bit stricter in regard to the border.

Sanada's ship entered the Water Country's territory, and Sanada, Karin, and Hibachi could see the dense fog hidden land.

The ship docked at the port, with around fifty to sixty other ships docked around it. The shore was also very lively.

It was hard to believe that all of this was happening while the bloody mist was there just a few years ago.

Going down the ship, Karin and Hibachi also pretended to be an escort of Sanada, who pretended to be a merchant.

Sanada led by example, and he pretended to act like rich men, holding their bellies and marching arrogantly followed by the two escorts, as they got off the boat.

Just after getting off, a few people with Mist Forehead Protectors surrounded them. Hibachi was a bit panicked, but Sanada told him not to move.

" Hibachi, remember, there is always time for everything."

Said Sanada before he walked toward the directions of the Kirigakure ninjas.
