Chapter 83: Preliminary Battle (IV)

Everyone was a bit surprised at the fact that two shinobi from the Hidden Leaf would be battling against each other this round, though it made total sense to Tsunade.

Not only would this prevent the other Villages from saying that Konoha was attempting to have their shinobi only fight against the other villages, but it would also deal with the large number of leaf ninjas who had made it to the preliminaries.

Choma and Kenta both made their way to the ring and stood opposite one another.

Though, before the proctor could begin the match, the two performed the Seal of Reconciliation, with them showcasing their comradery before the match. After which they returned to their battle-ready positions.

"BEGIN!!"

The two clashed against each other immediately, with Choma wielding a kunai while Kenta utilized a tanto.

However, Choma utilized his size as he feigned a follow-up attack, after which his hand increased in size and he smashed down where Kenta was in an attempt to take him out immediately.

Kenta dodged the attack and proceeded to slash at Choma from multiple angles.

Choma, in response to this, enlarged his fist once more and slammed his fist into the ground again, this time with much greater force.

The attack made a large amount of debris into the air, after which Choma jumped in the air and made his other hand a similar size, with him then making a large clap that sent the debris and wind pressure at Kenta.

Kenta, in a moment of genius thinking, began to move between the debris while dodging the main force of the wind pressure by using the debris as a shield to guard him against the attacks.

He then threw kunai and shuriken that had chakra strings attached to them and showcased great mastery in Uchiha Shurikenjutsu.

Kenta then weaved hand signs and spoke

"Fire Style: Dragon Fire Technique!!"

The fire he released traveled along the chakra strings and went straight towards Chome, with the attack consuming him in the fire.

Shikai and Inoka began to show some concern in the stands, though they held out hope for Choma.

Just then, Choma's voice came from the flame.

"Akimichi Clan Secret Technique: Human Bullet Tank!!"

Choma then exploded from the flame in the shape of a round ball that was moving at a high speed.

He even incorporated the flame that Kenta had just attacked him with to increase the damage, making a flaming ball fly straight toward Kenta.

Kenta, feeling the danger that was coming towards him, activated his two-Tomei sharingan and barely dodged the devastating attack, with Choma smashing into the ring and creating a large crater.

Kenta then decided to end the match as fast as possible, as he coated his tanto with fire chakra and dashed straight towards Choma, with him slashing him on the chest right when he came out of his ball-shaped form.

The heat from the slash and the momentum behind it combined to send Choma flying out of the ring while Kenta panted on one knee due to chakra depletion.

"The winner of this round is Kenta Uchiha." The examiner announced while the medical ninja checked up on both Kenta and Choma.

Many of the genin from the other villages looked shocked at the combat power both had just demonstrated as it was on a level reminiscent of some special Jonin and even Jonin.

'It seems the Leaf deserves more credit than I gave them credit for. Perhaps I'll even have to grow serious in my match.' Blue B thought as for the first time he gained a serious look in his eye.

'So Konoha has talents of this level? It seems I need to up the training on those in Iwa if we want to compete with them in the future.' Kiyomi thought to herself.

Hiruzen looked on at the result with a smile, proud of what both of his friends could accomplish in the training of their students.

'It seems Konoha will be in great hands in the future.' He thought with joy.

Though his expression turned serious when he thought of the Jinchuriki still in the room.

'Perhaps, I need to grow a more hands-on approach to prevent dangers like this from occurring again.'

He then looked on to the shinobi fixing the battleground while the next match was announced.
