33 Chapter 33: Sick

Tsunade awoke the next morning refreshed and determined, as she knew that if she didn't gain the Summoning Contract today, she would have no hope in saving Hashirama.

After taking her daily bath and taking care of her other nessecities, she walked to the backyard to see Mito and Hashirama both standing there.

While Mito had a smile on her face, Hashirama seemed to be sad as he was constantly looking at her with a frown.

He then walked to Tsunade and rubbed her forehead as he asked "You don't have to go through this much for me Tsuna. I've lived my life and I don't wish to burden you with a responsibility that isn't yours to begin with. I'm prepared to die and I would have no regrets if I did so."

Tsunade seemed enraged by that as she said "How can you say that! Don't you wanna stay here with Mom and Dad! With Second Grandpa! With Grandma! Don't you want to stay here with me!?"

Hashirama simply smiled at her as he kneeled down on one knee and looked her in the eye and spoke "Of course I do Tsuna. I would miss all of you more than anything. But I don't want you to carry the burden of trying to save me. But if you insist then I'll stay here long enough for you to heal me. Is that ok?"

"Yeah." Tsunade responded back with a determined look in her eye.

"That's good. Now we are wasting time, you need to be back home before dinner. So hurry and do the summoning." Mito said but was still looking on with a smile.

"When I come back, I'll be the Shikkotsu Forest contractor and I'll be able to heal grandpa!" Tsunade said with determination as she finished the last seal needed and reversed summoned herself.

However right after she left, Hashirama dropped to both knees as he began to cough out blood. Mito quickly rushed to him to help him get back into the house.

"I told you not to come, I knew your body couldn't handle the strain of coming out here so easily. It's getting worse and worse by the day Hashi. Are you sure you don't want to tell Tsuna?" Mito asked him as she sat him down onto his chair.

"You saw how determined she was Mito, if I told her that I only had a few months left it would crush her. I've been able to hide it from all of them, and I don't plan on them knowing about it until I'm on my death bed." Hashirama answered while taking deep breaths to help himself.

While Tsunade was able to extend Hashirama life using her Medical Ninjutsu and Yang Release, Hashirama was also using a large portion of his chakra to extend his life, with him only having tenth of his original chakra amount. It is only enough to last him for a few more weeks if he did his best. However, he did not want the rest of his family to worry about him, which is why he's been hiding it from everyone except Mito.

It's also because of this that he didn't want Tsunade to learn the Strength of a 100 Seal since it would be of no use to him no matter how much Yang chakra she was able to store and use on him.

By using his Chakra in exchange for vitality, he was practically burning his mental and physical energies at the same time. So even if Tsunade was able to successfully use Yang Release to heal him, it would simply throw his Yin and Yang into a major imbalance. So no matter what Hashirama does, he is already fated to meet with the Shinigami.

"I'm going to begin dinner call me if you need anything Hashi." Mito said to which Hashirama nodded, after which she went towards the kitchen.

"I hope I'm doing the right thing." Hashirama mumbled to himself
