3 Chapter 3: Chakra

Senju Clan Compound

Inside the Senju clan compound, two figures could be seen sitting across from each other. Both have serious expressions on their faces.

Finally, one of the individuals said "Tsuna, when you lose I'm taking back all the money I lost to you." the man known as Hashirama Senju told his granddaughter.

"And when you lose Grandpa, I'm taking that necklace you have." Responded his now 2-year-old granddaughter, otherwise known as Tsunade.

The two then both played their cards, with Tsunade growing happy and all the color draining from Hashirama's face.

"Wait, Tsuna, can we not trade this round?" pleaded Hashirama.

"Of course-" Hashirama's face lit up "-not." and he went right back into depression.

Looking at her grandfather, who she knew was dying but kept a smile on his face at all times for her, made her feel sad.

'He probably only has 2 years left before he passes away. He is most likely constantly in pain and simply hides it for me.'

Hashirama looked up, and as if hearing his granddaughter's thoughts, took off his necklace and put it around her neck.

As he saw her looking up at him he said "Now Tsuna, don't look so sad, grandpa will be here to protect you from anything. Do you want me to do another cool jutsu that you like so much?"

Hearing this, Tsunade jumped into his arms and hugged him as he simply rubbed her back.

"Nevermind that, how about we go get a popsicle?" he asked her softly to which she simply nodded her head.

As they were walking to the kitchen, Tsunade thought back on how she originally didn't want to grow close to him or Tobirama since she knew they would die.

However since she was an orphan in her last life, she couldn't help but enjoy the love and attention that she got from her new family.

From her Mother and Father, Ayako and Haru, to her Grandma Mito and her Grandpa, to even her great-uncle Tobirama, whose cold facade was washed away whenever she was with him.

This made her all the angrier about the fact she could do nothing to help her Grandfather.

However, she vowed that she would try her hardest to help Tobirama survive and to help protect the village and her clan that her grandfather gave his life to protect.

Just as she was done thinking about her resolve, her Grandpa gave her half of the popsicle she had asked for.

They both sat in silence eating the popsicle until Tsunade asked her grandfather "Grandpa, can you teach me to be a ninja."

Hashirama seemed surprised at the request but then asked her "Why do you want to be a ninja Tsuna."

"To protect my family." the 2-year-old spoke with conviction.

Hearing this Hashirama looked at her before deciding "I won't teach you any Jutsu, but I will unlock your Chakra and teach you how to control it."

The two-year-old then nodded as her grandpa picked her up and took her to the backyard.

"Chakra is an energy that is resulted from the combination of mental strength and physical strength. Most who access chakra have very small amounts of it due to it being unlocked at a young age. However, the Senju, and even more so the Uzumaki, are born with extremely strong bodies and large amounts of chakra. Therefore I think your reserves could be similar to my own at your age, which was around an academy students level. I'm going to guide my chakra into your tenketsu points so be ready to feel your chakra Tsuna." Hashirama told her as she sat in a lotus position. He then began guiding his chakra into her small body.

Tsunade felt a warm energy enter her body, and before she realized it, a burst of chakra erupted from her body destroying the ground around her.

She then was able to calm it and looked at her grandpa who stood looking at her in shock.

'Her chakra reserves are at the level of a chunin at only 2. They're larger than even an Uzumaki. One could only imagine how monstrous they will be when she grows older.'

"Did I do it right grandpa?" asked Tsunade as she saw him not saying anything.

"Yes, Tsuna you did great now you just have to.." Hashirama didn't finish his sentence as he felt a large amount of danger behind him, he quickly turned to see Mito smiling at him.

"Did you unlock Tsuna's chakra Hashi?" she asked while smiling sweetly while Hashirama paled.
