Chapter 170: Future Threats

~Konoha~

In Konoha, the sun rose early as three individuals sat in Mito's room, all of them wearing serious looks on their faces.

While the rest of their family and Jiraiya slept in the other rooms, Tsunade, Mito, and Tobirama sat with each other as Mito asked them about their plans for dealing with the threats that she had just recently learned about.

From the danger that Madara represented since he still was alive, to the newfound legend of the Otsutsuki Clan that she had just learned about, resulting in her and the Nine-Tails inside her uniting against such threats.

But right now, she needed to know how Tobirama and Tsunade planned to combat the threat of these dangers, and learn how she can contribute to protecting the legacy that her husband created.

"I still don't see why you involved Mito in this. Ignorance is bliss for a reason, and her knowing about these threats won't do anything for her safety." Tobirama said as he glared at his granddaughter.

But before Tsunade could retort, Mito coldly stared at her brother-in-law.

"I'm a woman who could single-handedly perform seals that would take other Fuinjutsu masters from my clan months in mere seconds. I was capable of suppressing even Hashi if he didn't take me seriously, and now I have the conjoined power of myself and the Nine-Tailed Fox. I do not need to be protected from anyone. I can assure you that I won't be going to join my husband until I finish what he started." Mito said as she promised to end what Hashirama had begun.

"Well, are you still going to try to tell a Jinchuriki of the strongest Tailed Beast who also happens to be a Fuinjutsu Master what she can and can't do." Tsunade added with a smile as she teased the elderly man while Mito just smiled.

"Fine. If she chooses to help us, then the more the merrier. But, more importantly, do you feel that Madara is fanning the flames of the current situation that is happening? Even Danzo wouldn't have the pull to make the situation grow as exponentially in the other nations as it has." Tobirama asked, making the situation turn tense once more as Tsunade closed her eyes in contemplation

"You're right. I had seen the information about the growing situation in the other nations, but my focus had been on the rebels in the Land of Fire. But, if he is encouraging the situation, then there can only be one goal that he has in the end: Causing a catalyst that will spark the Third Great Shinobi World War." Tsunade said.

"But what is it that we can do? If the Third Great Shinobi War begins, our best hope is that we take down the opposing Nations as soon as possible so that we can consolidate our power to deal with those future threats." Mito said.

"That is assuming that Madara remains passive in the current situation. If he were to feel the situation or the Village's strength is growing past his initial estimates, then he may decide to take a more active role as he did with me." Tobirama added.

"Then it will be my job to put him down for good. I'm confident I can defeat Madara if I go all out. And even if I can not, I'm more than confident that with the aid of you two and our allies, we can put an end to the Asura of the Shinobi World." Tsunade said with full conviction, confident in her own abilities.

Mito and Tobirama smiled at Tsunade, though they couldn't help but worry, especially since they fully understood the terror that Madara represented.

However, Tsunade suddenly stood as she headed to leave, surprising Mito.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

"Naruto just woke up. We're gonna go on a walk around the Village." Tsunade said with a smile, ready to see the precious face of her son.

In the destructive and hot landscape known as the desert, Kakazu stood over the near-deceased Third Kazekage.

"To think I'd lose 4 of my hearts fighting you. Truly a terrifying man." Kakazu said as he prepared to extract the heart of the Third Kazekage to replace his that he lost.

'I know that the Village can survive without me. I hope Chiyo and Ebizo lead correctly. And with Rasa, Pakura, and Sasori all growing into great shinobi, our Village shall one day prosper. I'm just sad that I didn't get to see it. But it seems I can let go of all of my regrets.' The Third Kazekage thought to himself as he mobilized his chakra one last time.

"I'll see you in Hell, Kakazu of the Waterfalls." The Third said as Kakazu realized something was wrong and wanted to flee.

But, the Kazekage grabbed hold of his leg as he released his Magnum Opus.

'Magnet Style: Magnetic Destruction'

A massive explosion occurred deep in the desert, ending the lives of both the Kazekage and the man who attempted to hunt him.
