Chapter 162: Faults

The family dinner ended not long after, with everyone heading to their respective rooms while Jiraiya was told to stay the night in the guest room.

However, unlike the others, Tsunade didn't head to bed, but instead headed to her Grandmother's room, ready for the two to have a conversation about the entity inside of her.

She arrived at the room and knocked on the door, with her then hearing Mito's voice, signaling her to enter the room.

She came in to see Mito sitting in the chair near her bed, with her reading a thick book while relaxing.

"What's wrong Tsuna?" Mito asked, sensing the slight amount of worry coming from her Granddaughter due to her monstrous sensing abilities.

Tsunade's eyes scanned across the room, with her feeling as if she was back in her youth, with Hashirama and her sitting on the opposite side of the room while gambling, all while Mito watched them with a smile.

She hadn't visited the room many times since Hashirama's passing, as it always seemed to upset her.

However, she was brought out of her senses as she remembered the purpose of her visit, ready to have a confrontation with the Nine Tails.

While she had spoken to the Nine-Tailed Fox inside of Naruto, that Kurama was far more willing to listen and could believe her story due to Obito's attack on the night of Naruto's birth.

But this Kurama was one whom her Grandfather took the freedom of and enslaved both he and his siblings, all in a foolish attempt to create peace.

While Tsunade couldn't say that disliked her Grandfather, she practically felt he was mentally challenged for handing out the Tailed Beasts to the other Villages.

He practically handed open her original world's equivalent of nuclear weapons, all in a vain attempt to create a balance between the Villages in hopes that they would all agree to remain peaceful with each other.

But instead, he simply amplified the wars that would be waged to a brand new level.

While Tsunade hadn't been alive during the Warring States Period, she simply couldn't equate the current system to being a better alternative, as it simply led to wars on a larger scale than previously.

And it was due to that, that Tsunade felt a slight drive towards changing the current status quo of the Shinobi World.

Yet, her mission of protecting Konoha which was entrusted to her by those before her completely contradicted this drive, making her feel as if she was simply stuck between a rock and a hard place.

"I felt the Nine-Tails earlier. I think we can convince him to work with us." Tsunade said, causing Mito's eyes to widen in horror.

The two had never really spoken about her Grandmother's status as a Jinchuriki, and that fact alone amplified the importance of Tsunade bringing it up.

"I understand you wish to help Tsuna, but I'm confident in being able to suppress the Nine Tails." Mito said, her gaze firm as she felt prepared to deal with any complications that may arise.

"But what if we don't have to suppress him? The Biju have sentience, that much is known by all of the major Villages. But if they are sentient, then why have we not come to an agreement with them? I met the other version of the Nine Tails, and I can guarantee you that it is not simply a mindless beast, but a being that is suffering because of us.

It's my job to correct the wrongs that my Grandfather made, even if his intentions when making them were good. Do you truly believe that it's right for us to enslave this beast for a false sense of peace, especially when we simply can find a way to cooperate with them for the betterment of both us and him?" Tsunade finished with her question, staring straight into her Grandmother's eyes.

Mito sighed, knowing that she wouldn't be able to change the will of her Granddaughter.

"Fine Tsuna, I'll give you a chance to prove your point. But if you are wrong, we shall not visit this topic again." Mito said to which Tsunade nodded.

Tsunade walked over to her Grandmother and held her hand, with her channeling all of her Yin Chakra to travel into Mito's mindscape, ready to meet the one being that would possess more hatred for her than any she had met prior.
