151 Chapter 146: Emergency Meeting

~Konoha~

An emergency meeting was called late at night, with it being so high level that only the Patriarchs of high-level clans and Jonin of the highest caliber were permitted to be there.

None of them could guess the purpose of the meeting, with the only guesses they could make being another Village suddenly declaring war.

And while they wouldn't put it past Kumo or Iwa to do something like this so quickly after the death of the Third Hokage, they wouldn't expect them to do so after the Leaf had gained both Tsunade and Jiraiya back as mainstays of the Village, especially after their feat of capturing Orochimaru alive.

Shikaku stood in his seat while glancing around the room as he passively analyzed everything, with him taking note of anything eventful.

'No one here seems to know why we were summoned. Could it be that war was declared? No, we would have seen signs of one of the other Villages gathering all of there forces if they truly wished for war. So what could it be? There's also the lack of a certain someone.' Shikaku ended his thought as he glanced at an empty chair that belonged to a one-eyed councilman.

The doors to the meeting finally opened for a final time as Tsunade, fully adorned in the Hokage's Robe, sat in her seat as she called the meeting to attention.

Koharu and Homura seemed to be about to point out the fact that Danzo hadn't arrived yet in hopes for her to hold off on beginning the meeting.

However, they would not be able to complete that statement as Tsunade's words made everyone in the room suck in a cold breath.

"Danzo Shimura has been found to be a traitor to the Village in the highest degree. As of 27 minutes ago, he, alongside the ROOT, was completely annihilated." Tsunade said with a calm and neutral expression on her face.

"What do you mean Tsunade!? Danzo would never betray the Village!" Koharu yelled in complete shock and anger.

As people who had been comrades for decades, she wouldn't allow him to be tarnished like this.

However, the greatest question came next as Kakashi asked in a hesitant voice

"Lady Tsunade, did you just say that the ROOT was completely destroyed?"

Tsunade simply nodded while everyone simply went deeper into thought at such a revelation, unable to understand how Tsunade could do such a thing.

"Tsunade, how dare you attack and murder a councilman of the Village? Even as Hokage, this is pure treason!" Homura said as he stared down Tsunade.

Tsunade's neutral and calm facade finally faded to show absolute anger as she released a storage seal in the center of the room.

It opened to reveal the experiments Danzo had been committing alongside many records that stretched through the room, each recording top secret and hidden assignments that Danzo had partaken in over the years.

Many of the records lack key details about the missions in an attempt to keep Danzo's actions hidden from Hiruzen even if he needed to report to him. Though some were fully conclusive, the only inference was that Danzo had grown arrogant enough to not need to filter information or report it to the Hokage.

One record spoke of the systematic destruction of the Senju Clan in an attempt to concentrate the power of the Village in the hands of the higher echelon of Konoha, and this one was even signed off by the Third Hokage.

"That bastard destroyed not only my clan but also the Uchiha in an attempt to study our bloodlines. You should be grateful that I won't be executing you two for treason as well!" Tsunade said before she forcefully calmed herself down.

"While I won't be implicating the two of you, I guarantee you that your time as elders of the Village has come to an end. Anything else from you and I won't be kind any longer." Tsunade finished by emitting a powerful aura from her chakra, with the walls cracking from the sheer pressure of it.

The rest of the meeting consisted of Tsunade planning how to announce this news to the world while giving a fabricated tale on how the ROOT base was destroyed.

'What a headache.' Tsunade thought as she continued the debrief

While all of this was occurring, the person behind all of this had returned to her home and properly tucked Naruto in upon seeing he fell asleep on the couch while attempting to wait for her.

As she tucked him in, she heard him mutter softly

"Don't leave me, Mom."

'Yep, it's official. Screw the timeline, I'm taking him with me.' Tsunade thought before she went to her room and went to bed, preparing for the eventful incoming day she would have.
