Chapter 122: Sages

Tsunade and her troops set out the following day, with the task ahead of her still being as daunting as she had thought it to be the day before.

She knew that she would have to use her full strength in fighting Hanzo, something that she hadn't done with any of her previous opponents.

The travel passed at a relatively fast pace, though the anxiety of the army could not be hidden, as they all understood they were about to fight the Demigod and his forces.

Tsunade knew that the battle would be happening soon, with all of her troops remaining combat-ready for the battle to come.

"Are the troops ready to move out?" Roshi asked his troops as he commanded the Iwa shinobi.

Onoki had given him instructions after he awoke, with them detailing the plan for how to overtake both Konoha and the Land of Rain at the same time.

The spies in both armies and even back in both nations began to communicate about how the other side may be plotting an attack, hoping to drive a wedge between any possible peace talks.

It would likely sound some alarms in the heads of those intelligent, but the will of the people and their growing paranoia would lead to them having a battle.

While he didn't know which side would ultimately give in, once one side did, the opposite would have to defend.

Roshi would then wait until the battle reached its peak, with him then joining in to finish off both of their forces.

Onoki had sacrificed his intelligence network, as they would ultimately perish once the rumors were traced back to them, but the man viewed it as a small price to pay for an opportunity like this one.

The shinobi under Roshi nodded in agreement, with them departing soon afterward, for the grand battle to come.

Tsunade finally felt foreign chakra signatures enter the range of her Minds Eye of the Kagura, with her letting her shinobi get in combat position.

She glanced at Jiraiya and Orochimaru, letting them know the challenge they were about to undertake.

Jiraiya first smashed his hand onto the ground and performed a Summoning Jutsu, though the smoke cleared to show two small toads standing at his feet.

"I didn't expect you to call so soon Jiraiya-boy." Pa said as he seemed quite happy to see their summoner.

"You need to visit more often." Ma said like a nagging mother

What Jiraiya lacked in talent, he made up for with his perseverance and determination. This made the Toads in Mount Myobuko admire him greatly.

"I'll make sure I visit more often, Ma. But, I'm afraid I need your aid to make up for my weakness." Jiraiya told the two, with them jumping onto Jiraiya's shoulders.

"You've almost mastered it enough to enter it on your own, looks like we will have to up your training a little more." Pa said as they began gathering Nature Energy.

Orochimaru began to gain a purple pigmentation around his eyes, this being a sign of him mastering Sage Mode.

Jiraiya looked stunned at seeing Orochimaru turn into Sage Mode on his own, implying him being a perfect Sage.

He silently swore to master Sage Mode as soon as possible to not allow Orochimaru to grow stronger than him as his rival.

However, they both turned when they felt a great amount of Nature Energy gather in one place, with them seeing Tsunade adorned with markings across her face, with it being an indication of her also being a perfect Sage.

"Well then, let the three Sages of Konoha lead our troops into battle." Tsunade said as they moved at monstrous speeds, arriving at the Rain Shinobi in an instant.

The three then saw the location of Hanzo in the back, making them charge toward him.

From the back of the army, Hanzo slowly opened his eyes as he felt the three appear in his perception, with him drawing his blade to meet the three.

A battle that would shake the Ninja World was about to commence.
