13 Chapter 13: Departure

Kuzo felt astonished when he looked at his face. For the first time in his life, he wasn't using a mirror or a reflective surface to see himself. His body was in front of him, peacefully sleeping on the chair. Kuzo lifted his hands and looked at them. They weren't his. He touched his hair and brought the strands in front of his face; their color was orange.

'So this is what it feels like to possess someone's body,' Kuzo couldn't help but think of one thing. 'If I possess a girl and touch…? Forget that. I have to escape.'

He closed his eyes, sensing the chakra of Fu's body.

It surely was above the average jonin's. The same went for the speed and power. And let's not forget that Kuzo managed to somehow devour Fu's techniques. It meant that he could use this body effectively more than he could do to his own.

Kuzo, using Fu's body, picked up his body and started walking.

As a sensory ninja, he could tell everyone's location in this place, which seemed to be a basement for the Root.

He then started making his way out. He could avoid many people, but not everyone. Some Anbu appeared. Kuzo walked with full confidence, ignoring everyone's eye as he held the kid's body on his shoulder.

"Fu Sama. What are you doing?" A pale young man around Kuzo's age stopped him and asked.

"I'm tasked by Danzo Sama to scan this kid's memories. I'll be taking him to the experiments room."

"What a coincidence. Danzo Sama tasked me to help with anything you need."

"Anything, huh?"

"Yes, anything."

"Please, go to Danzo Sama and tell him I'll be done in 15 minutes. We'll meet where he'd left me."

"I understand."

After sending the pale young man away, Kuzo dashed out of the facility and got out. He found himself in Konoha. Going somewhere isolated, Kuzo undid the mind transfer jutsu, getting back to his body.

Fu fell on his knees as if it was a mindless body.

One of the jutsus the Yamanaka clan man knew was shadow clone. A jutsu that was easy to do but forbidden because of its chakra and stamina consumption and risks, which sometimes consisted of death.

Kuzo created two shadow clones. One clone aimed to use mind transfer jutsu on Fu, taking over it. Kuzo, the original one, used a low-rank earth jutsu to create a room in the ground to bury his clone. He then closed the hole while leaving enough.

'I have many people, genins, and a chunin worth stamina. I guess I can manage 2 clones for long.'

Kuzo looked at Fu, who stood up and smiled at Kuzo.

One of the Mind Transfer Jutsu's weaknesses was that anything that happened to the possessed body would be reflected on the possessor's body. In case Danzo thought of killing Kuzo through killing Fu, then he would only kill a clone and lose his right hand.

But the Mind Transfer Jutsu also was consuming chakra rapidly, so he had to move quickly.

The other shadow clone departed to the Hokage's mansion.

'I'll make my decision based on the 3rd Hokage's decision.' He thought before using transformation jutsu, taking the appearance of a young lady walking at night alone.

Danzo wasn't someone to mess with. He was the dirtiest person ever. You know, in Itachi's novel, at the night of the Uchiha's massacre, Danzo put a few black ops on Sasuke to kill him in case Itachi changed his mind. He was the person who would threaten to kill your family with your own family.

Kuzo had somehow a family that fed him. He didn't want them to suffer because of him. He didn't want to leave Danzo room to blackmail him.

Fu entered the Root's facility. Nobody stopped him as he went to the room where Kuzo had been at.

Footsteps echoed behind him.

"Fu. I've heard that you have taken Kuzo with you? Explain yourself."

Fu smirked, turned, and looked at Danzo. "Explain myself. Which self are you talking about?"

Danzo stopped for a second. He looked at Fu, eyes getting quite wide opened.

Kuzo smirked, took a seat, and said. "Apparently, not only can I get the jutsus of those whom I kill. Whoever gets in my head stays there forever. Somehow, I eat their mental energy."

"You… You have possessed Fu," Danzo said. "What happened to him?"

"His consciousness didn't make it. Hey, don't blame me. Don't climb mountains and then blame them when you fall." Kuzo replied, "But I also got some intel from Fu. I know you were trying to steal my supposed Kinjutsu to get your organization stronger or whatever, and doubts of me being spies are just an excuse so that you can do whatever you want to do to me. In case you are wondering, it's a rare bloodline mutation. Call it the Grim Reaper's bloodline."

"Why did you come back?" Danzo asked, not denying Kuzo's claims.

"I'm here to be the bigger man and offer you a deal." Fu walked to Danzo and extended his hand, " Leave me alone, and I'll leave you alone. In exchange for you leaving my family alone, I won't spread any details about your dirty secrets publicly. You know the crimes you have done to Konoha. Imagine if the 3rd knew about what you were doing behind his back."

Since he had already been targeted, Kuzo didn't mind messing up with Danzo.

Danzo tightened his gaze. "You're bluffing your way, aren't you? Mind Transfer Jutsu doesn't let you take over someone's memories. Leave Fu, and come back on your own will. Or not only you'll die, but your family."

"I'm not bluffing. Besides, can't the Yamanaka people read other people's minds?" Fu laughed. "Let's forget about Uchiha's massacre. Let's forget that you are an ally with Orochimaru and had supported all of his inhuman experiences, and what the 3rd would do. Or the fact you interfered between the peace between the mist and stone… do I need to talk any further."

With each word, Danzo tightened his gaze. "So, by simply being scanned, you got Fu and all of his information."

Kuzo ignored Danzo. "Come on, imagine what would happen if Sasuke knew about Itachi's truth. You can't do a thing to a little kid because Itachi would fuck you up. And he would grow up in front of your eyes to kill you."

"You know more than you should." Danzo said, appearing behind Fu, putting a kunai's blade against his neck.

Fu laughed. "Hahahaha. You're going to kill him, even when he was loyal to you?"

"In case you don't know, he dies, you die. I don't mind killing Fu." Danzo said but didn't move yet.

"But you know, in case a shadow clone died, the original doesn't." Fu sighed, taking a step further. Danzo took his kunai away.

"You're crafty, like the reports said about you." Danzo put his kunai away.

"Danzo, aren't we allies?" Fu said. "We both want the best for Konoha."

"Why don't you say that, face to face."

"Cause I can." Fu said. "By this time, we are talking, the original me is talking to Lord 3rd. I believe we all can come to a deal where you can't touch me."

Danzo sighed. "Very well."

"Anyway. See you never." Fu reached his pocket and grabbed an explosive tag on his chest. The paper started slowly burning. The last thing he saw was Danzo looking at him with wide opened eyes.

Kuzo's other clone was directly talking to the 3rd Hokage.

"So you are saying he kidnapped you." The Hokage said as he looked at Kuzo, "But because your special power, bloodline mutation, you've absorbed the Yamanaka clan's man's powers into your head."

"Yes, Lord Third." Kuzo nodded. "By this time, I've possessed Fu's mindless body to deliver a message to Danzo, a few threats about the things he had done."

"Which are?"

"I need a word that you'll keep him off me, and that you are going to protect my family. I'll tell you that after you give me your word." Kuzo said.

"If what you already possessed on some of his secrets, then you know what kind of men Danzo is. You're nowhere safe in Konoha. Even with him knowing that I'm on his way, he wouldn't stop trying to reach you. But I see that you already know that." The Hokage said, taking a smoke from his pipe.

"I know. At least, don't let him blackmail me with the people I know." Kuzo wouldn't usually consider going for someone to this extent.

But he would never let someone who fed him die because of him.

"You're a very important asset to Konoha, and Danzo can see that too." Hiruzen smiled. "Which is why I'll send you off on a mission out of the village. A mission to get stronger and get back to protect Konoha whenever it needs you."

Apparently, the Hokage knew what Kuzo could become in the future if he continued growing like that. What he possessed was more valuable than the Sharingan, for the Sharingan doesn't give you chakra affinity or special jutsus.

"I appreciate it, Lord Third." Said Kuzo. Now with him out of the village, he could go and hunt missing-nins on his own and challenge stronger people.

"For that, you tell me what you knew."

"First of all, I know about the Uchiha massacre and what it has to do with Danzo and the coup d'état."

"So it's true what you say about your power."

"Yes. But there is one more piece of information related to you."

"Which is?"

"He's in constant contact with Orochimaru." Kuzo said. "Also, when Orochimaru was conducting his inhuman experiments, Danzo was providing him with support behind your back."

The Third lowered his head, his hat covering his eyes. "I see. Can you keep that a secret."

"I can."

The Hokage made a hand seal. From thin air, a scroll appeared and landed on Kuzo's hand.

"You take this with you and leave the village. You'll stay with a friend of mine from the Tsuchigumo Clan, En no Gyoja. No one will be able to find you there."

"I see." Kuzo nodded.

"I feel sorry that we didn't have the time to give you your chunin vest. But Kuzo. Remember, albeit you are not that strong now, I'm entrusting Konoha's future into your hands."
