91 Barely

Naruto sighed as he sat down on his bed. They had just gotten into a town not too far off from Konoha, and had decided to stay for the night. However, upon their arrival Jiraiya had gone off with some woman who showed a mild amount of interest in him.

Laying down on one of the beds Naruto placed his hands behind his head. These two years haven't been exactly kind to him. First he found out that he was the son of not one, but two S-rank Shinobi. Second, he was also the son of the Hokage, the military dictator of Konoha who also sealed a giant beast into him.

Hiruzen said that the Fourth Hokage, his father absolutely trusted him that he could tame the beast. If he trusted him, he must've also loved him right?

Naruto sighed again and shook his head. He needed to think about what his goals were going to be, or to be more accurate how he was going to accomplish them.

His first and foremost goal was to obviously get stronger. It was becoming blatantly obvious to him that he was not strong enough to protect the people important to him. It would take years to reach that level but Naruto didn't care.

He also needed to focus on his shinobi career. Naruto was fairly positive that he would be promoted to Chunin after his performance in the exams.

If he did not become a Chunin after this, it would be because of a blatant showing of biased opinions due to his Jinchuuriki status.

*Knock! Knock! Knock!*

"Hmm?" Naruto hummed as he looked at the window. There was a hawk standing on a windowsill, more specifically Konoha's messenger hawk.

Naruto opened the window and let the hawk perch on his shoulder. He grabbed the scroll attached to the hawk's leg and unfurled it. He read the contents and quickly burned it with a small Fire Style Jutsu after.

He then noticed another small scroll attached to the bird's other leg. He grabbed it and unfurled it. It was a sealing scroll. Naruto unsealed the contents in the seal and out came a stack of folded clothing that had a small sticky note pasted on it.

Naruto set the clothes on the bed and reaf the contents of the sticky note. Judging from the handwriting, he immediately recognized it as Hiruzen's.

'Dear Naruto, by now you should have known about the other half of your heritage from Jiraiya. Your parents left an abundant of wealth behind, I made sure that none of it was touched. You will receive more details when you get back to Konoha.

I'm sorry for not telling you earlier, I genuinely am. Even though you can't tell with just words. But now that I thought about it, I'm glad I didn't tell you sooner. You aren't exactly the best at keeping secrets back then.

Congratulations on reaching Chunin, Naruto. I know we should've done this in Konoha but you know me, I'm an old fossil now, so my memory isn't what it used to be.

Here's the custom clothing you ordered from the Higurashi Weapons Store and left it to me to safeguard until you become Chunin. I also made sure to add the standard Chunin flak jacket to your clothing.

"Alright...." Naruto mumbled as he immediately took off the clothing he was wearing before he put on his new custom clothing and Chunin flak jacket [Pic].

"Yeah, I look good." Naruto grinned to himself as he patted the hawk after putting on his new clothes. The hawk chirped before flying out of the room and back to Konoha. The blonde sighed before sitting back down on his bed again.

*Knock! Knock! Knock!*

Naruto looked at the door to his hotel room. "Did he get dumped already?" Naruto mumbled as the knocking got louder.

"Keep your goddamn pants on!!!" Naruto shouted as he closed his eyes and used Chakra Pulse, his self created sensing technique.

He narrowed his eyes as he sensed two people that were definitely not his sensei. He kept calm and started thinking.

'They must be the two Akatsuki members gramps warned me about just now. Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki. He was under no Genjutsu, there was no way he could fend off one, let alone two S-ranked ninja. That meant he had to stall for time and find some way to get a message to Jiraiya.

'Good thing I placed security seals that can bind them and serve enough time for me to get out of the room.' Naruto thought as he carefully approached the door before opening it.

He looked and easily recognized Itachi, the short man in the front. He also easily recognized Kisame standing behind him as he had read the Bingo Book countless times in his free time.

"Come with us Naruto." Itachi said in an emotionless voice.

" Yeah, let me just pack my bags and I'll be right out." Naruto replied nonchalantly. He did not give Itachi a chance to answer as he slammed the door in the man's face.

Itachi widened his eyes as a complex array of seals appeared on the door and quickly spread all over his body, binding him in place. He took a glance and saw that Kisame was in the same situation too.

Naruto moved to the opened window and jumped out of it. Before he landed on the ground he bit his thumb and began weaving a set of hand seals at blinding speeds.

"Summoning Jutsu!!" Naruto muttered aggressively as he landed on the ground and slammed his hands onto the dirt road.

*Poof!*

There was a puff of smoke as Naruto summoned a small toad named Gamakichi. Gamakichi is the eldest son of Gamabunta.

He is a young orange toad with purple markings around his eyes, mouth and stomach. He was small enough to fit on top of Naruto's head like Akamaru could fit on top of Kiba's head and wore a blue jacket.

The blond did not give the little toad any time to speak as he started giving out orders. "Listen Kichi, I need you to get Jiraiya's ass here now! Tell him there are two Akatsuki members after me!!"

" Got it boss!!! " Gamakichi saluted Naruto before he hopped away at full speed. Naruto really hoped that Jiraiya was sober enough to get here quick.

"Alright, let's do this, you two." He muttered as he turned around to look at Itachi and Kisame jumping out of the window Naruto jumped out of previously.

"What do I owe the honor of two such esteemed S-ranked criminals coming after little ol' me?" Naruto asked them as he took out his tri-pronged kunai. Itachi twitched a little as he looked at the kunai Naruto spun in his hand, remembering the memories he had when he met the Fourth Hokage with his father.

Minato was kind enough to show the young Itachi his kunai. That was the last time Itachi saw the young Hokage before the Kyuubi attacked Konoha.

"What we want is irrelevant, please come with us Naruto. Bloodshed is unnecessary." Itachi replied in his deep monotone voice as his Sharingan began to spin dangerously.

Naruto quickly performed a one handed hand seal with one of his hands when he felt foreign chakra invading his system. "Kai!" He shouted, dispelling the Genjutsu Itachi tried to put him under.

"You know I would have expected better, even someone like me can dispel Genjutsu of that caliber. Try not to underestimate me Itachi...." Naruto paused as he went over what he said.

"Actually, you know what? Go ahead and underestimate me, it will make kicking your ass so much easier."

Kisame grinned as he grabbed the handle of Samehada. "Who knew this brat has such a mouth on him. I never knew the Kyuubi brat would be such a runt. Perhaps I should cut his legs off so he doesn't run away! "

" Try and get me fish paste, I'm not that easy to get though!" Naruto shouted as he closed his eyes.

'I only have two advantages here, and that's that they seem to need me alive and they are likely to underestimate me due to the fact that I'm only a chunin.' Naruto thought.

"What did you call me?! I'm gonna squash you like a bug!!" Kisame shouted. He had never liked people making fish jokes about him of any kind, it was actually one of the few ways to set him off.

You would think that he would be more calm about this since he's an S-rank ninja and all, but people have insecurities, even the ones at the top of the world.

"That's if I don't end up turning your fishy ass into a giant sushi roll before then!" Naruto taunted. He knew this wasn't likely the best idea, but he would rather deal with an enraged S-rank ninja who couldn't think clearly, than one who could.

"Itachi!" Naruto's shouted before the enraged Kisame could charge towards him. Itachi narrowed his eyes at Naruto.

"What is the number one rule when fighting against an Uzumaki?" Naruto asked, making Itachi narrow his eyes since he had never heard of this rule before, or any rule about fighting the Uzumaki Clan at all.

Naruto grinned broadly at him. "Don't give them time to create seals." He muttered as large complex sealing arrays surrounded the two S-rank Shinobi.

" Can't....move..." Kisame growled angrily as he was finding it hard to move even a finger. Itachi remained silent as he looked at Naruto's slitted crimson eyes while he had Kurama's chakra covering his entire body.

The demonic chakra was powering the seal Naruto created with the help of his clones hiding in plain sight with the Transformation Jutsu.

"Uzumaki Clan Fūinjutsu: Katsu!"
