30 Chapter 30 - Friction at the Border

In the training field as two figures flickered around the snowy grounds. Both will collide at quick intervals before breaking apart once more. Then after running a few steps they would collide once more repeating these steps dozens of times.

Naturally these figures were a boy with black hair that was loosely tied back with dark eyes. While the girl had her hair tied back into a braid. Both appeared to be around ten years old as they continued to clash together.

"I, Mira Uchiha, like to say I will win this time." Mira pounded her chest with her fist.

Kagami smirked at her words as this wasn't the first time he heard them and it was yet to come true. So vanishing from his spot, he appeared behind Mira as his hands combined together with his index and middle finger jetting outwards. Then using his entire body to make a dramatic low arc as he swung his arms upwards with his body behind it. He said in a laughing tone.

"Konohagakure Hiden Secret Taijutsu Technique: One Thousand Years of Death!"

Mira instantly broke out in cold sweat and clenched up as she jumped to dodge, but she was too late. However, the aim was a tiny bit off as a bright red blush covered her face as she landed on the ground away from him squeezing her legs together as her hands were between them.

"Meanie, I thought we agreed not to use that one anymore." Mira glared as tears ran down her eyes. 'Not to mention you got the wrong spot.'

Waving with an awkward laugh as one hand scratched the back of his head. Kagami did feel a bit bad as he didn't expect her to jump upwards. So after little to no thought about where he hit her this time.

"Sorry, do you want me to rub it to make you feel better?" Kagami asked.

Mira's face, which just lightly recovered turned bright red from embarrassment and rage as she pulled out a kunai. A dangerous glint formed in her eyes as she began chucking it at him aiming for his vital stops.

"Die you pervert." Mira screamed as she chased after him.

Quicker than a rabbit, Kagami did the only reasonable thing and ran. Mira, who recovered somewhat, chased after him as she continued to shout at him as she kept throwing her arsenal of sharp weapons.

In the trees as they watched two run around the training field, two old men laughed lightly at the two actions. The two were really amusing to watch, but they could only sigh as they looked at Kagami.

"For as smart as that boy is, he is really dumb at times." Uchiha Maru sighed as he looked at his great granddaughter.

"Sort of reminds me of the First Hokage and Minato." Taiyō Senju replied before adding a joke. "Though, should we celebrate that Kagami turned our little Mira into a woman."

Maru's eyes twitched as he sent a glare at his friend. However, before he said anything, they saw a large ice dragon appear with Kagami on its head flapping its large ice wings to fly away. While large fireballs chased after him, what shocked the two was despite the large distance between them and the grandchildren, they could feel the heat.

"Those two are really growing up nicely." Taiyō said. "It's a shame they will probably be sent to the Kumo border soon."

"It can't be helped. However, seeing that Kagami's research in elemental kekkei genkais is coming along nicely. I feel better as both he and Mira will be safer."

Then they saw Kagami's small shadow frame jump off the ice dragon as it was shot down.

"Well, if Mira doesn't kill him first."

--

Raising his fist, Kagami knuckle bumped Mira as they greeted each other early in the morning. Where he let out a small yawn as the wind gently blew through his tail coat of his navy blue jacket that reached down to his calves. Which was gifted to him by Mira while back.

"What with the large scroll on your back?" Mira asked, slightly puzzled.

Just above his hips, Kagami had a large horizontal scroll strapped to his back alongside his sword strapped just a bit higher. However, what is puzzling is that while a few ninjas carried their supplies inside a scroll, but Mira hasn't seen him with one. Not to mention he also carried a small backpack on his back with some supplies.

"Preparation for just in case situations." Kagami replied.

While he couldn't be sure nor did he hope so, he prepared a few seals in case Kumogakure sent out their jinchuriki's. He couldn't put it past the Fourth Raikage, since that man was very boastful and probably one of the most arrogant in the world currently. Not long after the news of Minato's death that man stated he was the fastest and one of the strongest shinobi to be living now.

'While the man is probably a bit troublesome, but the Fourth Raikage, while strong compared to normal shinobi, was far from being called one of the strongest.' Kagami thought to himself.

Nodding, Mira took the lead as they walked towards the gates in the early morning. Just last night they received orders to head towards the border on the Kumogakure side. Compared to the other villages, this one seemed to want to play the most. Hence, despite the much clean up still needing to be done, quite a bit of Konoha shinobi were sent to the border.

"Still, the war just ended, why does Kumo want to pick a fight?" Mira said after a bit of walking.

"A legendary man once said, Man seeks peace, yet at the same time, yearning for war... Those are the two realms belonging solely to man. Thinking of peace whilst spilling blood is something that only humans could do." Kagami replied. "The Fourth Raikage dislikes the current settlement of peace since it is not his version of peace for neither Konoha nor Iwa is destroyed nor weaker than his village."

"So he wants to take this chance to weaken Konoha even more by taking pot shots at the border." Mira growled. "So who is this legendary man you spoke of?"

Giving her a small bump on her butt, Kagami changed topics. "Come on, let's get moving on."

"Kagami!" Mira blushed slightly at his actions before chasing after him.
