It had been 3 days since Giichi had told Raion about his branch leaders' promise to help him find a sensory teacher when they got a positive response.

After getting informed that the old friend of the branch leader would be willing to help Raion, Giichi informed him at the end of their sparring match for the day. 

"About your teacher for the sensory technique Raion-- I was just informed that he would be willing to meet you after the academy gets out tomorrow. He said he would be waiting at training ground 3."

Raion eyes instantly lit up and said, "Thank you Giichi-- you're awesome!"

After some social conversation the two left and came back to the academy the next day where Raion couldn't wait for the academy to be over. 

After the academy ended Raion instantly started flickering towards the third training ground while thinking, 'I really have to learn the shadow clone jutsu, there's just too many benefits for me at this point not too.

I can use it to go to the academy, train FAR more efficiently, and it would also just be very effective in combat due to my high chakra reserves.' 

After thinking about some ways to possibly acquire it Raion shook his head at the ideas as they all seemed as if they would take far too much time or commitment such as joining the ANBU which he wasn't sure if he wanted to do just yet. 

Raion stopped thinking about the shadow clone jutsu as he arrived at training ground three.

Once entering the training ground Raion realized he was by himself and decided to wait for the instructor while meditating. 

'I must have gotten too excited and come a bit too quickly and arrived before the instructor or he could just be fashionably late like a certain white hair--'

As Raion was thinking his eyes widened rapidly as he flickered away from his former position and looked towards where he was just standing. 

Standing where he was just meditating stood a tall man with blond hair and green eyes with a smirk on his face.

As Raion stared at him the mans grin just got wider as he started to say, "Very impressive young man, it seems even though you haven't been trained in the sensory technique, you were able to sense me even when I put out an incredibly small amount of my chakra.

It seems as though Keisuke wasn't lying when he said you were talented, you even have a ton of chakra too. 

Well, anyway I'm Hideo Yamanaka, you can just call me Hideo though. Nice to meet ya kid."

After realizing Hideo was his instructor Raion bowed and said, "it's nice to meet you Mr. Hideo and thank you for the compliments."

Hideo scoffed at Raions' formal attitude and said, "stop being so stuck up kid I ain't gonna hurt ya and call me Hideo, drop the mister-- I'm not that old yet."

Raion chuckled at Hideos' attitude and spoke to him, "haha you're right Hideo, it is good to meet you!" 

Hideo nodded to Raion and spoke, "well that's enough playing around I suppose, I hear you want to learn the sensory technique and you've impressed Keisuke enough to ask me to teach you-- which is an achievement in itself.

But I was curious, why does a talented one like you want to learn the sensory technique so young-- kids your age usually find it to be quite boring after all." 

Raion nodded to Hideos' words and said, "I have always been incredibly interested in using the body flicker technique in combat, the problem with it being used in combat is not knowing being able to get a sense on where you are-- leaving you vulnerable in battle.

The best way I thought that could counter this defect is sensing my surroundings after using the technique. I also don't want ninja sneaking up on me similar to how easily you did earlier."

Hideo widened his eyes the longer Raion spoke while also nodding occasionally, and after Raion was done telling his reasoning, Hideo spoke, "I can see the reasoning behind your idea for sure, most shinobi don't think about using the flicker technique in combat.

It's one of those jutsu where people forget to use their own applications because it's so commonly used and they think all other options of the jutsu had been thought of already. 

There's also the problem that your spatial awareness has to be quite amazing to be able to use the technique in the first place. 

Many who have thought of doing the same thing as you stop at this step because they simply aren't precise enough with the technique." 

Raion nodded while absorbing all the information Hideo was telling him and thought, 'Good! It's actually sounding quite plausible right now, it seems if I get good enough at sensing it will turn out great, I am already quite talented in the flicker technique and will only get better as I train more. 

Raion started listening to Hideo as he started to speak again, "Well, it's quite a good goal; however, right now we should focus on getting the basics of sensing down first. 

The first step of the sensory technique is easy as it only uses on hand sign. 

After using the hand sign, you should direct your chakra in a dome shape all around you so that you have no blind spots.

That's really it, although it sounds easy, it's quite hard to actually get better past the beginner level and that's why I'll be here to help you."

Raion nodded at the explanation by Hideo and tried the technique for himself. 

Raions' chakra expanded outwards about 10 meters after using the hand sign; however, he was surprised by the difficulty of controlling the chakra that was outside of his body and his dome fell apart quickly. 

'I see what Hideo meant by it sounds easy but it's not. I suppose I should try to condense the dome first and see if that helps with its control, if it does I will slowly expand it through training.' 

After his first failure Raion tried to expand his chakra again but this time in a much closer area and he found himself able to sense all the chakra within the space-- even the ambient chakra just floating around, as well as the large chakra source coming from Hideo about 2 meters away.

Raion slowly expanded the dome until it was about 7 meters away, where he felt it slowly starting to collapse and Raion stopped using the technique.

Hideo spoke to Raion as soon as stopped using the technique, "How incredible, to be able to condense your zone on the first try you truly are the most talented I've ever seen. If you continue training it while I'm here we should be able to expand your zone quite quickly.

 I, however have something I need to do, so we'll call it here for today. Come back tomorrow at the same time"

Raion nodded to Hideos' words as he thanked him for his time before flickering away.
