Chapter 8: Preparation (5)

Naruto followed Dog's instructions and started doing daily morning runs at 5 in the morning and started focusing on his Taijutsu more than on his stats, since Dog had told him that he had physically pretty much caught up with everyone but was severely lacking in technique.

Sadly what Dog had said did not happen the first day, nor the second, nor the third, instead he had been doing it for a whole week when something finally happened.

Naruto had just started doing his Taijutsu training which he did after his run when it happened.

"A YOUTHFUL MORNING TO YOU MY YOUTHFUL FRIEND, IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE OVERFLOWING WITH YOUTH!" Naruto heard a loud shout, when he turned around he could see what Dog had meant with 'green monstrosity'.

A man dressed in a green jumpsuit, orange leg warmers, and a Konoha Jonin flak jacket greeted Naruto's eyes, the man had a bright smile on his face that seemed to radiate light and was looking intensely at Naruto.

This time the man spoke normally "I have been observing you for the past week and I can see that you are overflowing with youth! That is why I, Might Guy, Konoha's Sublime Green Beast have decided to teach you Taijutsu!"

Naruto was quite frankly bewildered and flustered, all he could say was "Uhm, hi." with an awkward wave.

Guy saw Naruto's state and grinned, "There is no need to be flustered my youthful friend, a person you know as 'Dog' has recommended you to me since I don't have much to do right now since I'm on a break I have decided to observe you and your youth had impressed me, although your Taijutsu can use a lot of work, right now the way you are fighting is not very efficient, while some of the basics are there you don't know any forms or techniques which in itself isn't a bad thing since you can manage to learn how to fight without a form but against proper fighting styles and techniques it doesn't hold any advantage, instead it is actually worse to fight without a style than with one."

Naruto was surprised while he knew that Dog wouldn't lie to him he was skeptical, after all, who wouldn't be? A random man shows up and gives you Taijutsu advice, that didn't happen often.

None the less Naruto listened to what Guy said and saw the sense in his words, he was actually aware of the problem, he didn't have a style, which meant that clan children had a large advantage compared to him in techniques and Taijutsu both because they have most likely been trained by their parents and because they had actual fighting experience, which Naruto didn't have much of.

Guy seemed to notice that Naruto was now listening and grinned even brighter, "So what do you say do you wish to embark on this youthful journey with me?" Guy asked Naruto.

Naruto did not even have to hesitate, if Dog trusted this guy enough to teach Naruto Taijutsu then there was no reason to doubt him "I agree, Guy-Sensei."

Guy grinned and a strong aura emanated from him "YOSH, WE SHALL NOW RUN AROUND THE VILLAGE 50 TIMES! FOLLOW ME, MY YOUTHFUL STUDENT." Guy immediately set off.

Naruto who was surprised started running after Guy determined to not fall behind.

Naruto fell behind, by quite a lot as well, Guy had passed him several times already while Naruto was struggling on the 37th lap of the rounds they were running, the village was too big to run around even once, it would take Naruto at least a day so he guessed they were at most running 1/10th of the actual things, Guy had slowed down to show Naruto the way in the first round and had since then been running non-stop

Naruto continued to press on while his legs shook and his knees buckled, Naruto was now barely trudging forward, this would be his last lap, he could even see Guy-Sensei waiting for him at the point they had started, it would only take him a couple of steps but ultimately Naruto fainted before he could reach Guy.

While this happened Guy was deeply thinking to himself, 'What a terrifying kid, to think he would finish 50 laps, he isn't even in the academy and he already surpasses the most recent graduates in stamina, although it is most likely because of the Kyuubi's influence it is still impressive that he had the willpower to finish 50 laps.'

Guy picked up Naruto and ran back to Naruto's apartment.

Guy smiled, "Hello there, Kakashi."

Dog, who had been waiting by Naruto's apartment was glaring at Guy "Guy, what kind of training did you make him do?"

Guy grinned "Nothing much, we ran 50 laps around the inner layer of Konoha."

Kakashi's single visible eye widened, "50 laps! are you crazy?" Kakashi questioned Guy.

Guy chuckled "I never expected him to actually finish 50 laps, even I am impressed there are very few people that could do 50 laps around the village at the age of 6 and even less that could do it without rest, this kid really is a monster." Guy was surprisingly serious.

Even Kakashi took Guy's words seriously, in order for Guy to be serious something dangerous had to be going on or he would have to have been amazed by something, in this case, it was Naruto's stamina and willpower.

"His body has been severely overworked, let him rest, he will need a lot of food tomorrow." with that Guy laid Naruto down in Naruto's bed and left.

Kakashi sighed, he didn't expect Naruto to have amazed Guy this much, although this was a great opportunity for Naruto, currently, Guy was one of the strongest Ninja in Konoha, hell in the world, there were very few that could compete with him in Taijutsu and if you counted in Gates then he could even overpower the current Hokage, Kakashi could only shudder as he imagined Naruto utilizing the 8 gates.
