41 Chapter 41: Chunin exams start

The Chunin exams would officially begin at 12 'o' clock, unofficially though, it started the second you entered Sunagakure, several ninja would observe the teams to see what they do, and the teams themselves would observe each other trying to get any valuable information, which Naruto got quite a lot of.

While he walked around the village acting as if he was checking out the various stalls on the market he was actually actively sensing chakra signatures, something that shocked Naruto was that he could feel three signatures similar to that of the Kyuubi.

As far as he knew Suna only had 1 Jinchuriki so there being two others was quite shocking, to say the least.

1 had to be Suna's Jinchuriki but Naruto wasn't aware of who the other two were and spying on Jinchuriki as a Jinchuriki himself was not the smartest thing to do, he could be sensed from miles away after all.

Naruto was sure he would meet the two eventually though.

Currently, Naruto and the rest of his team were walking to the building that they had been told to go to, the teams would have their first test there, after which they would most likely move to a different location.

After a short walk, they arrived at an average-looking building, Naruto did sense one of the chakra signatures in there, which meant that 1 was most likely a Genin while the other one was most likely a Jonin-sensei, he would find out soon enough.

They entered the building and walked to the second floor where Naruto sensed most of the teams, a few were scattered around the building, most likely lost.

They entered the room numbered 222 and walked in without batting an eye at the "Strong killing intent" coming off from the rest of the teams.

They stood in one of the corners of the room and started talking to each other, eventually, they were approached by a team from Kumo.

"Oi, you brats, you should really learn how to read the atmosphere." A red-haired girl said to them.

Naruto quirked his head "Atmosphere? You mean the faint killing intent they're giving off?" Naruto said with a small smile.

The white-haired boy next to her scoffed "Faint you say? I would love to see yours then."

"Oh? Sure." As Naruto said that he pulled on a bit of the Kyuubi's chakra, his eyes turned a blood-red color, the killing intent given off by the other teams was immediately suppressed as each of them felt like there was a blade put against their throats, some of the weaker ones even passed out.

Since the Kumo team stood that close to them they took the full brunt of it, it was quite impressive that they managed to not faint.

"W-what the hell are you?" The red-haired girl shouted.

"Me? I'm simply a Genin from Konoha, I'm Uzumaki Naruto nice to meet you!" Naruto said as he turned off the Kyuubi's chakra.

The Kumo team was sweating, so much so that their clothes were soaked.

The red-haired girl laughed "Haaa, I didn't expect that, but it's nice to meet you Uzumaki Naruto, I'm Karui, a genin from Kumo and I hope the fuck not to fight you." Karui introduced herself.

"Agreed, I'm Omoi."

The other team member had fainted after Naruto turned his KI off, so they didn't really care about him.

"Well, these are my teammates, Uchiha Sasuke and Aburame Shino, and I indeed hope we don't meet during the test, I would hate to have to kill you guys." Naruto smiled innocently.

"You really are a bit crazy," Omoi said.

"Well, what can I say, the Sublime Green Beast of Konoha is my sensei after all."

"The Sublime Green Beast of Konoha? quite a stupid name I must say." Karui said.

"Hmm? He's an SS-rank ninja in the bingo book and he is listed as run on sight, though a recent encounter makes me think that not a lot of ninja are smart enough to run away." Naruto smiled mysteriously, he loved messing with others.

Omoi and Karui shivered, they did definitely not want to meet Naruto's sensei as they imagined a bloodthirsty killer.

Before they could continue talking a cloud of smoke appeared inside the room, from that a group of Chunin came out, with 1 standing in front.

He looked around curiously as he wondered what happened to the other participants, there were no signs of fighting so that must mean that they were knocked out by someone's chakra or killing intent, he wondered whether it was one of the Jinchuriki that did it and by looking at how Naruto was smiling he was fairly certain that it was.

"Well, if your teammates don't wake up and finish the first test in time you will be disqualified, now let's continue."

"I am Hirata Tsunekata a Jonin of Suna, you will all sit in 1 file row and receive a test, if you are caught cheating twice you are disqualified meaning the rest of your team is as well, now let us begin the test." The Jonin said.

They didn't have much time to prepare as they were seated and were given a pen and paper, they were told to begin immediately so they did.

While most people would struggle with these questions Naruto answered them without difficulty, he signaled to Shino through one of the insects Shino always had on both Sasuke and him and told Shino to copy the answers through his insects.

They swiftly copied down the answers and were done as the first team, now Naruto had two options, wait for the test to end or mess with the other participants, sadly the Jonin seemed to be paying special attention to Naruto so he didn't have many chances to mess with others.

Instead, he observed the most likely other Jinchuriki that was taking the test with him, she was sitting more at the front so Naruto couldn't really see her but her features were quite distinct so he didn't have a problem with making out who she was in a crowd.

The girl wore white clothes and had mint-green hair, she had a cylindrical object wrapped in red bandages on her back and had tanned skin, she was quite short so Naruto assumed that she was either quite young or was a naturally short person, she had the headband of Takigakure which meant that she was the Jinchuriki of the Seven Tails.

While her chakra was quite strong it came nowhere close to that of Naruto and the other presence so Naruto was quite confident in beating her, except if she could control her tailed beast.

The test finished quickly and the points were tallied up, you had to score at least 18 which meant that if you had two smart teammates but were dumb yourself that you had to cheat, it was quite a good test to see who had the capabilities to gather information in the field and do it while being undetected.

Team 9 passed with 30 points while a lot of teams failed, luckily for Karui's team, their remaining teammate had woken up and proven to be more intellectual than strong which meant that they too passed with more than enough points.

It was time for the second part of the Chunin Exams to start.
