3 Chapter 3: talking with the hokage

Naruto had discovered something new while he waited for the Hokage and the Doctor to arrive.

He could view his status specifically, which meant that he could look at certain stats instead of looking at his entire status screen.

'Status EXP'

[EXP: 500/1000]

This would make it a lot easier for him to oversee his stats and would make it easier to see his growth.

But that wasn't the thing he should be focusing on right now as the Hokage just entered the room with the doctor.

Hiruzen Sarutobi expected Naruto to be traumatized after what had happened and to be very happy to see him.

Unexpectedly neither of the two happened, Naruto just looked at him with calm eyes that didn't fit the 6-year-old energetic boy.

Usually, the kid would run at him while laughing and smiling to hug him, but now, now he just sat there neither happy nor sad to see him.

'I truly have failed you Naruto, I'm sorry' Hiruzen sadly thought in his mind.

The doctor then decided it was best to interfere seeing the situation between the Hokage and Naruto.

"Ahem, I would like to say that it is very fortunate that you brought Naruto here on time Hokage-sama, his chakra was severely depleted and he had multiple burn marks on his skin which will definitely leave scars. The good thing is that this is the worst of the injuries he had received and there were no other major injuries other than a cut on his face that will also leave a scar."

The Hokage sighed in relief, he was at least glad that Naruto wasn't that hurt "I'm glad to hear that, now could you please leave us alone for a second, I would like to speak to Naruto."

The doctor nodded and left the room.

While the doctor was talking to the Hokage Naruto was looking at something else entirely, namely the text floating above the two of them.

It seemed like Naruto had discovered another function of the gamer system, he could see the names, titles, and level of someone floating above their head.

Naruto looked closely to make sure not to miss anything and after looking at both the Hokages and the doctor's description a *ding* brought his attention to the blue screen floating in front of him.

Naruto had once again gained a useful skill.

Naruto then heard the Hokage sigh in his direction.

Hiruzen looked at Naruto who hadn't even greeted him until now and started speaking "Naruto, I am sorry for what happened to you, I will make sure that nothing like this ever happens again."

Naruto simply looked at the Hokage, he thought about things and decided that this was the best moment to ask 'that' question.

"Hey, old man, am I the Kyubi?" Naruto said

The Hokage looked shocked for a moment but a sad look appeared in his eyes as he looked at Naruto, he saw the anger that was deep down inside of Naruto and once again sighed tiredly.

"I guess it is time to tell you." the Hokage started speaking "You are what is called a Jinchuriki, a human sacrifice, the fourth Hokage gave his life to seal the Nine-tailed beast inside of you."

Naruto looked at the ground and silently said "Thank you, for not lying to me."

Hiruzen simply hugged Naruto, there weren't many ways he could express his current emotions so he figured a hug would be the best.

After they silently hugged each other for a minute Hiruzen let go of Naruto.

And Naruto glared at him "But! You still lied to me for the longest time! So I demand that you take me out to eat ramen!"

Hiruzen chuckled at Naruto, he was glad that Naruto was, in some aspects, still the same old Naruto.

Naruto then jumped out of the bed "Well then, old man, what are we waiting for? I'm hungry!" and ran off.

Hiruzen chuckled and followed Naruto glad to see that Naruto was fine enough to run.

Although the doctor had told Hiruzen that Naruto should stay in bed as long as possible to get enough rest since it was Naruto's first time completely running out of chakra, but the Hokage supposed that it was fine since Naruto was an Uzumaki and a Jinchuriki.

By the time Hiruzen caught up with Naruto Naruto was already halfway to Ichiraku Ramen.

Naruto and Hiruzen walked side by side as they both looked at the village, while Hiruzen loved looking at the different things going on in Konoha, Naruto had a different reason as to why he was looking around, namely: observe.

Naruto looked at various things with his skill Observe and found out many things about it.

Observe gave information about objects and even gave them a rank.

Title: 3rd Hokage of Konohagakure.

Naruto tested it out on Hiruzen and wasn't surprised by the results, he couldn't find out anything he didn't already know and couldn't see the Hokage's level.

But when he used it on a villager it showed their name, title, class, and level which usually ranged between 5 and 15 with children more often being between 1 and 10.

Eventually, after walking for 15 minutes the two arrived at a small ramen stand, with an old man and a young girl standing behind the counter.

There weren't any customers other than them at the current moment.

Naruto greeted the old man happily "Teuchi-Jiji! I want 5 bowls of Miso Ramen!"

The old man, Teuchi smiled at Naruto, "Well if it isn't my favorite customer! 5 bowls coming right up!"

Teuchi then left to go make Naruto's ramen, while Ayame, the girl, greeted Naruto and the Hokage. "Hey there Naruto, Hokage-sama, is there anything you would like to eat, Hokage-sama?"

Hiruzen smiled at Ayame and said, "Yes, I would like a bowl of Pork Ramen please."

Ayame then also left.

"Now, Naruto, I would like to talk to you about some things, first of all, you will be entering the academy in 4 months, do you think you are ready for it?" Asked Hiruzen.

Naruto contemplated for a second "To be honest, I don't think I am, I'm too weak compared to the other kids that have their families to train them and I don't even know how to train!"

Hiruzen seemed to be in thought for a second before answering, "Well then, I could give you some books that would help you with training, but you will have to promise me one thing." Naruto then replied, "What is it?"

"I want you to do your best in training if I give you the books and I want you to take things seriously," Hiruzen said while looking at Naruto with sharp eyes.

You have 4 months to catch up with the other students of the academy, before you enter the academy there will be a test to see how skilled the students are, Score in the top three of the test to receive a special reward.

2nd place: 2000 EXP, Academy student perk, and 2500 Ryo.

3rd place: 1000 EXP, Academy student perk, and 1000 Ryo.

Failure: The Hokage will be disappointed in you, the teachers and students will look down on you, and you will not receive the Academy student perk.

As Naruto read the quest a strong determination appeared in his eyes, he would make sure he would achieve first place!

"Hokage-Jiji, I promise that I will achieve first place in the academy rankings!"

[Quest accepted.]

The Hokage nodded at Naruto with satisfaction at seeing Naruto's determination, he would make sure Naruto received those books later on.

But now?

It was time to eat ramen!
