Chapter 100: Developments
"So, how does it feel to be Kazekage?" Naruto asked Gaara while they took a stroll through Suna, countless civilians both child and adult looked at the two of them in amazement, the Shinobi even more so, they knew the true strength of the two Kage level shinobi in front of them after all.
They didn't even need to be a sensor to be able to sense Naruto's chakra, it was that thick and powerful, it even seemed to completely dwarf Gaara's chakra, the nine tails chakra, Naruto's own chakra and Samehada's chakra combined made quite the fearful combination after all.
Gaara smiled "Well I don't know quite yet, although I enjoy it much more than being the demon of the village, those days were quite dark after all." Gaara gained a nostalgic look on his face remembering the years before Naruto fixed his seal.
Gaara who had once been seen as a demon and a thing to be afraid of was now adored by almost all the citizens of Suna, being the Kazekage only strengthened his image as a loyal shinobi of Suna and as a hero to its people.
The two continued walking, a few children even came up to them to ask about the Leviathan that flew next to them, Haru had been steadily growing larger, it had only been a week since Naruto arrived in Suna but Haru had almost doubled in size from 2.5 to almost 5 meters in length, this had shocked Naruto greatly as he could sense a large amount of energy enter Haru each and every day.
And he was not talking about chakra.
There seemed to be an energy in the air that he could previously not sense, he had recently gained a new stat that seemed to be working quite well, as he had sensed a new energy for the second time now.

'Kid, you really are stupid sometimes, I was wondering when you were going to figure it out but what you're sensing is Natural Energy, it is something that you humans can use to access something called sage mode, my father, the inventor of it was the first sage, he taught a couple of large summoning clans how to access their specific version of sage mode, although I do not know if the Leviathan clan has a sage, or if they can access sage mode.' Kurama grumbled in Naruto's mind.
'Oh, so that's what it was, well, thanks for telling me buddy, I'll buy you some mochi the next time we're in the Land of Tea.' Naruto said to Kurama who was already salivating at the thought of mochi, while he may be a giant demon fox that destroys mountains for fun but he still liked to eat, and mochi was one if not his favorite food of all time.
Haru continued flying around playing with a few kids, she really enjoyed playing in the sand even though Naruto had to spend at least an hour every night cleaning her to make sure no sand entered his hotel room, though it was getting more and more difficult by the day.
"So Gaara, care to tell me of what you plan to do as the Kazekage?" Naruto asked Gaara as they had eventually arrived at a place where they could view the entire in front of them.
Gaara seemed to be in thought for a second "To be honest I do not have that many great plans as the Kazekage, I mainly wish to improve the lives of Suna's citizens and to avoid conflict as much as possible, the hidden villages have a history doused in blood, I would like to change the course of it even if only by a little, but besides that, I will be simply performing the duties of a Kage like the 3 ones previous to me."
Naruto nodded "Hmm, those are more admirable than you would think, many leaders would abuse their power, I'm glad you are a good Kage, I would have to deal with you like I did with Shukaku all those years ago." Naruto added with a cheeky grin.
The mood lightened greatly and the two of them continued discussing their plans for the future, Naruto was actually quite unsure of what to do, he had long ago realized that being the Hokage wasn't what he was meant to do, even if the people wanted him to.
The main thing he wanted to do was travel, he wanted to discover the many hidden places in the Elemental Nations, he wanted to experience the culture of the many nations and explore the land of the summoning clans, learn sage mode, and become powerful enough to defeat Obito, he managed to run away last time but Naruto vowed that the next time they meet would be the last.
So Naruto decided to do just that, he wrote a message for Tsunade and put it up as a mission to deliver it to Konoha, the message would then be delivered either by a Chunin or a group of Genin, he had just missed Kakashi and his team so he couldn't give it to them to bring it to Tsunade so he resorted to helping out the economy a bit, he even got Gaara to promise him that it would be delivered.
But alas Naruto didn't want to stay in Suna for a lot longer so he went to find Temari after saying goodbye to Gaara.
Temari usually spent most of her time focusing on her duties as a shinobi of Suna, she did missions frequently and trained almost every single day just like she was right now.
Naruto appeared in front of her in a shunshin, she couldn't even sense him until he appeared right in front of her, surprising her into attacking him.
A blade of wind generated by her fan immediately assaulted Naruto who merely grabbed Samehada from his back and slashed generating a giant wave of air that broke Temari's and pushed her back.
Seeing that Temari's eyes widened, he wasn't even using a fan or weapon to create that wave of air and it easily overpowered her chakra infused blade of wind, she realized that she had a tremendous amount of work to do.
"Wow wow, calm down Temari, it's just me, I came to tell you that I'll be leaving soon." Naruto put Samehada back on his back and walked up to Temari, looking into her eyes for the last time for at least a while.
Temari gained a sad look "You're leaving already? I was hoping to train a bit with you."
Naruto put his palm on the side of her face, gently caressing her cheek, "I promise I'll come back soon, we'll train together then, I'll even leave you a scroll holding a bunch of Wind Jutsu here for you to learn how about that?" Naruto smiled at her again grabbing a scroll with a bunch of wind jutsu inside of it and handed it to Temari who looked overjoyed at the fact that she got a gift from Naruto.
"I promise I'll learn every jutsu in that scroll, but you have to promise to visit at least every two months, I won't forgive you otherwise." Temari said while she hugged Naruto
Naruto hugged her back and promised to drop by every two months just for her sake.
And like that Naruto's last day in Suna ended, and his journey to travel the world of Ninja started.
