121 How could Genkai be in trouble?

Kaito was assigned as the leader of the team. While he was weaker compared to the other members of the team, he made up for this by being a lot smarter than the others.

"Alright, Pack your supplies and we will meet at Yoriichi's place in 30 minutes," Kaito told his teammates.

"Kakazu, I have not worked with you before so please tell us your abilities while we share our own." Kaito said to Kakazu who nodded.

"Yoriichi, What's the nearest place to the Land Of Grass that you can teleport us to?" Kaito asked Yoriichi since he knew Yoriichi could mark only five places where he could teleport at once using his sword.

To mark another point, he has to remove one of the previous ones.

"I have one a little far away from the hidden leaf village which I had set up last year when I visited Konoha." Yoriichi said

"Good that would save us at least four days of travel." Kaito said

Kakazu though was confused by this conversation "Excuse me? You can teleport? I thought only Genkai Uzumaki could use space-time ninjutsu in Uzushiogakure?"

Everyone ignored him and went to pack their supplies and gear up for the mission.

After half an hour, They met at Yoriichi's garden.

"One of you should place a hand on my shoulder while the rest of you could hold each other's hands." Yoriichi said as he started weaving hand signs.

They disappeared from Uzushiogakure and appeared in a cave inside the Land of Fire. The cave was not more than 100 kilometers away from the Leaf village.

The cave had some food supplies, water jugs, sleeping bags and some first aid that Yoriichi had left if he ever had to sleep inside the Land of Fire. It was like his secret hideout within the land of Fire.

The team took off towards the land of Grass.

'I can't believe Genkai Sensei is in trouble. He is too overpowered and has the most broken skills that I know outside of myself.'

'So whoever did this must have used a dirty trick. Let's say it was planned by a great village. The village might have gathered Shinobis that were all S rank to ambush Genkai Sensei but he should have been able to escape then too. Did they find some weakness in his teleportation ability? It would take at least 10 S-rank shinobi to take down Genkai either way.' Yoriichi thought

The amount of S-rank shinobis was no joke during this time. Do you think that only Konoha and Uzushiogakure have a lot of S-rank shinobi? Then you are wrong.

Tobirama died while facing 20 S-rank shinobi which were part of the Kinkaku and Ginkaku squad.

They were not all Kage level. They had the same strength as Guy, Kakashi, or Asuma pre-time skip.

There was a reason why Zetsu, Madara, Obito and Pain tried to weaken the Shinobi forces of all the villages before going against them in a conflict. The great villages were too strong prewars and conflicts.

'The only weakness I could think is that he needs shadows to travel. But he has managed to combine his shadow teleportation ability with eye of Kagura which lets him travel to shadows within 100 kilometers. There is no way that they could stop shadows from appearing in such a large range.'

'A barrier or fuinjutsu seems unlikely since Uzushiogakure is the one who is most proficient in it and we don't have any barriers that could stop the teleportation ability despite a lot of research in this field.' Yoriichi tried to think of different ways that would have made Genkai unable to use his teleportation.

Suddenly Yoriichi's eyes widened

'What if they had taken Genkai's team as Hostages and then took care of him? That would mean that he has already been killed.'

He shared his conclusion with the rest of his team. He was feeling terrible right now. Genkai was his teacher, his jonin sensei, his clan member and above all his friend. He was the only one who could keep up with Yoriichi's strength in the village.

He was the only one that Yoriichi considered worthy enough to fight him in Uzushiogakure outside of his grandpa and father. In other words, despite their age difference or their relationship of student-teacher, Genkai was Yoriichi's rival.

'Unforgivable! I swear I would eradicate whoever tried to kill you, sensei.' Yoriichi thought

"While what you said might be true. They might have captured sensei by holding other shinobi of his team as Hostage. But it's unlikely that they would just straight-up kill him. It would lead to a straight-up war. With Leaf and Suna on our side whichever village or villages dared to do so will suffer immensely. It is more likely that they would use him as a bargaining chip against Uzushiogakure." Kaito took a brief pause before saying "Or he would be tortured to give up information about Uzushiogakure and the Uzumaki seals. And the Genkai Sensei I know, would never break the trust the village had in him. So he might be still under interrogation."

Kaito's analysis of the situation was a relief to Yoriichi and others. This was a much better situation than Genkai ended up being dead.

"So the question is who is doing it and why?" Kaito asked as everyone let him voice out his thoughts.

"I don't think it's any of the great villages since they are all biding their time, increasing their strength and waiting for the right moment to strike. But I don't think this is the right moment." Kaito said as everyone came to a single conclusion.

"So you are saying it's done by a small shinobi village?" Chino asked

"Yes or a group of missing nin or a clan that has not joined any village yet," Kaito said

"Is there even a missing-nin group that could beat Genkai Sensei?" Jiro asked

"Yes, in fact it's not a group, just one person." Kaito said

Yoriichi's face suddenly turned serious as he heard those words as he mumbled the name of the missing-nin who could harm Genkai.

"Madara Uchiha"
