6.Tournament of Survival- The End

The trio had started snuffing out careless groups at night with the help of S-chan, such that under one night, no plaques in their possession had increased from a meagre two to a high 20.

Most of the work was done by S-chan alone, She really was skilled at assassinating people.

You blink and you are dead.

Anyway, going back to the topic, Their team was sleeping in the same bunker as before, they were going to spend the first half of the day sleeping as not all of them had slept in the evening of the previous day.

Life was good until they had to clash with a strong team on the third day.

S-chan was out of commission due to getting poisoned which could be reasoned due to Delta's idiocracy. He had one job of shielding them against Projectiles, but he failed even in that.

Now, #13 had to fight one against two with a Combat medic who also was a poison specialist along with a Ranged attacker using Wind style on par with S-chan.

Ice-guy was fighting against a fire user again, but surprisingly he was suppressing his enemy and was doing a good job at that.

#13 ducked under a crescent-shaped wind attack at him and was successful in touching the arm of the combat medic who was also trying to do the same.

Just as he touched her arm, he formed a chakra scalpel and severed the nerves connecting her left arm at the shoulder.

Now, he had done some permanent damage and if not healed quickly, she could lose her left arm permanently.

But that wasn't #13 's plan as he wanted her to retreat.

Now, the teamwork of both of these was not bad, and good for enemies who turned to allies from Round One to Round Two as this was one way of telling them that such scenarios happening by enemy ninjas teaming up to kill a third party was not that rare.

However, they should have had some more practice as #13 intentionally led that combat medic under the guise of her hand possibly getting severed due to his previous move to her head getting in the way of a crescent wind attack done by her 'partner' due to her losing composure momentarily which was due to fear of possibly getting crippled.

A head could be seen flying in the air.

#13 might not like to kill the children by his own hands due to reasons but he has no qualms watching them kill each other or make them kill each other indirectly. He was by no means a normal person and certainly not a good person.

He used the momentary shock of his opponent to send a flying chakra attack in the form of a thrust, it not only had penetrative power but was also fast. 

That attack hit his left lung and that guy blacked out, It was similar to the attack of how Hyugas hurt internal organs but instead of blunt force and short-range contact needed, this attack could be done from long range and had penetrative power.

If he was healed by a medic in time, then he would survive, if not then his death would be a long one and agonizing. #13 was thinking about whether he should kill this child to let him go from this agonizing fate he was responsible for.

'Meh, I am giving him a chance to survive instead of ending it all in one go, he should be glad that I didn't kill him outright' #13 nodded self-righteously like he had done a good deed for the day.

Even He didn't believe that he was doing a good deed, but like they say, it sounds good to his mind, so why not? He didn't mind entertaining this guy if he survived somehow and came for revenge, He loves challenges like this and questions of such people hurting people close to him?

It's simple, He doesn't have such kind of people in this life, some people had been very close to him in his previous life, but they were skilled people in their fields and were comparable to him, they were technically his rivals, this able to posing danger to them is same as posing danger to him.

He saw that Ice-guy was also almost finished and was toying with the crippled opponent who had lost one leg. He was probably taking his frustrations from his previous fights with this guy.

If this was actually a mission, then he wouldn't be allowed to do this as a root member as it is clearly mentioned in the rulebook, that this behaviour is not allowed.

Normal shinobis however had a lot of freedom in such matters, but back to the scene.

S-chan was still out of commission and was put to safety earlier by putting her in the ground. She seems to have broken out of that by using a wind jutsu indicating that she has woken up.

He had given her a temporary solution previously and now had to remove the poison for which Ice-guy had to take guard duty and reluctantly killed the fire user.

After removing the poison from her system and looting all the loot they got from this team, they left to collect more plaques.

On the night of the fourth day, somebody entered their bunker to rest, their fate was not a nice one, they had their whole chakra sealed and sucked to be trapped in a barrier with poison gas in that space.

It seems they weren't able to overcome the odds like the shonen protagonists and succumbed to their fate, slowly, agonizingly.

#13 was nice about such things, there was a reason that not a single victim survived in the first round due to dumb luck or somebody else kill-stealing, they all didn't die peacefully. It was a dangerous game he was playing, but he was ready to face the consequences of his decisions from the first day.

He wouldn't mind dying at the hands of people who come for revenge in the future.

Sun had already settled down and they were planning to camp in the ground again, but before that, they were ambushed by a yellow-haired guy.

This was not an ideal case as they were not at their peak case in terms of stamina which in turn means they won't be able to the maximum amount of chakra they could as chakra is moulded by converting stamina.

Projectiles were hurled towards them from all sides, and #13 formed some hand signs and used B-rank 'Lightning style: Electromagnetic tussle.

However, that only slowed them down, rather than stopping them completely as it seemed that somebody was using similar jutsu to throw the projectile at them. 

"I failed" 

The other two used some ninjutsu to repel the projectiles and it was clear that it was neither chakra-efficient nor helped the fact that their stamina was low.

#13 used C rank stone skin jutsu and let the projectiles hit him, this jutsu was not chakra-efficient for him at this point and he generally likes to keep it as a last resort.

He would have to do something else if the projectiles were coated with wind chakra, anyway back to the battle, the attacker seems to have sent a next wave of projectiles with target-specific projectiles but the trio has already dispersed.

If the attacker's goal was to separate them and use a 'Divide and conquer' strategy, then he was definitely successful, as they all had to go in different directions.

However, the yellow-haired guy was not that lucky as he chose #13 as his first victim.

The yellow-haired guy had lightning covering his whole body, it was a cheap version of famous Raikage's jutsu, but it was a B-ranked nonetheless.

B rank Lightning Cloak

In the next instant, a yellow blur seems to be trying to slice #13 with a big knife... which could be mistaken for a sword.

He also was hurling projectiles towards #13, but all attempts were dodged gracefully.

After a few seconds, #13 summoned kunai and used the vibration principle he copied from a certain white-haired girl a few days ago on his kunai.

Vibrated chakra met Lightning chakra, but soon, the lightning chakra was cut and His big knife was cut into two parts. The yellow-haired guy jumped back.

"You really are annoying" 

In the next moment, the yellow-haired guy took out a kunai and internally vocalized the name of the Jutsu

 Railgun

In the next instant, the kunai vanished and a beam of blue light could be seen skimming across and piercing #13 's right shoulder blade such that he lost the grip of his kunai.

A fist-sized hole could be seen on his shoulder and #13 could be seen falling backwards.

"That was an amazing jutsu" 

"I know, now die" He flickered next to finish him off but he got misdirected due to some kind of obstacle formed when he got close to him, such that he had to do a manoeuvre mid-air to regain his footing.

Yellow-haired guy in the next instant suddenly crouched dodging a beam of wind aimed at his head's former position.

"Senpai! I didn't expect you of all people to be down, what happened? Did he get you by surprise or something?"

"He can use a jutsu which can't be dodged at our current level, plus its penetrative power is very high, I don't know how many times he can use that jutsu, but it is at least A rank." He weaved some hand signs with his uninjured arm while continuing.

"Also, don't try to sneak up on him, even if you somehow got him, at that range, he might use that jutsu instinctively and take you down with him. For now retreat with Delta, I will regroup with you soon as escaping alone would be easier for me, Now go" After completing the hand signs he put his non-injured hand's palm on his injured shoulder and a seal appeared which was followed by the wound getting sealed such that the blood won't leak and anything foreign won't enter his body.

"Fine don't die," S-chan said and disappeared with a flicker.

"I didn't expect to see a high-level seal master, but you trying to be a hero will be your downfall" The Yellow-haired guy dashed forward.

'I won't be able to outrun him and escaping on earth this soon will make him go after the other two... how annoying but this is the kind of challenge I need now' #13 internally thought and instead of retreating he also dashed forward.

"You really are a suicidal maniac" Yellow-haired guy laughed, kunais clashed, even if the wound was sealed, it didn't mean it got healed, #13 still couldn't use his right hand properly, so he had to parry with his left hand.

Suddenly the kunai in the yellow-haired guy's hand turned blue and in the next instant, it shot towards his opponent's head.

More like the former position of his opponent's head as it seems that #13 predicted where Kunai would be shot.

It should be noted that the time gap between kunai flickering with blue colour and reaching #13's head was less than one-tenth of a second, even a Jounin would be killed at this close distance, making this an almost impossible feat for someone like #13, for him doing that could make one wonder if he can see the future or something.

"What the hell?" The momentary shock was used by #13 to place his hand on the yellow-haired guy's abdomen, the cloth that came in contact with #13's hand was burned.

#13 didn't have time to do some internal damage due to his expertise in medical ninjutsu due to his opponent's quick reaction and the fact that he still had lightning cloak jutsu on which gave a bit of defence but its main function was the speed increase and enhanced reflexes the user gets.

#13 however was able to scan his opponent's chakra network. He let the cross kick hit him on the abdomen and hurl him backwards above the ground.

'Let's see whether you can dodge this while in the air' Meanwhile, #13 had a smirk on his face.

Just as the attack was formed and launched, less than a second before that, a wind jutsu was released from #13's mouth which made his body which was in mid-air tilt such that in the next second, the very fast kunai was dodged yet again, much to the growing horror on the yellow-haired guy's face.

The kunai which was dodged was shot in the air and it will land a few kilometres away from their location. This whole confrontation was done in less than 15 seconds.

"You are fun, let me toy with you more" the yellow-haired guy smirked and threw a smoke bomb at his feet. In the next second 5 blue coloured lights could be seen from the smoke, all of them hurling towards #13.

"Fuck!"

A normal clone jutsu could easily be distinguished due to it not having a shadow, but what if you can't even perceive the object due to it being very fast? It won't really matter whether it has shadow or not in that case.

A fist-sized hole could be seen in his left leg which was followed by it getting sealed almost instantaneously which indicated that he had put an automated mechanism, most likely when S-chan intruded.

"That was creative"

"Yup I know"

Another bout of kenjutsu clash occurred but this time #13 was clearly in a disadvantage due to him fighting while on one leg.

#13 jumped backward, "Watch this" He weaved hand signs with one hand and had his characteristic smirk on his face.

"B rank Lightning Cloak" Lightning covered his whole body similar to his opponent.

"What!, how?" the yellow-haired guy hasn't even used any hand signs for this jutsu, so it shouldn't even be possible for this guy to replicate just by weaving hand signs in case he had lightning element as his affinity and was a genius.

That was how he had received this jutsu from the previous user instead of buying from the library.

"Can you hit while I am moving?" #13 disappeared from his position and appeared on a branch of a tree.

"Let's play chase," he said and disappeared, now even if he had only one working leg at the moment, he still was confident in escaping as his modified substitution Jutsu gave a lot of freedom.

He was able to lose his 'stalker' and later regrouped at the same cave where they usually regroup.

"I would need a few days to heal myself, you guys will have to hunt yourself"

"Well, it won't really make a difference as she is the only one who is doing the most work"

"I guess, that is true" #13 shrugged as S-chan was the major contributor to them getting medals, nobody could escape alive when they were subjected to her assassination attempts.

"Don't talk like I am not in front of you"

"What gave that impression to you?"

"What didn't give that kind of impression?"

#13 tuned out all noise and focused on recovering his chakra for the upcoming treatment he would have to go through.

Days passed by and the end of the exam is upon this temporary team, Results were announced, but the shocking thing was that only 7 people passed!

"It's time for you to give some hands-on training before you go to the field for missions" The proctor said to the 7 people present and motioned them to follow him.

He paused suddenly "Oh, I almost forgot, you guys will be called Team WHITE"

Well, I was absent for a few weeks, well I had my entrance exams for my college and let's say the results were not up to my expectations...

Anyway, this story is not dropped, I had already said from the start that chapter updates would be inconsistent...

I am now planning Volume 2 and let's say that it would be at least double or triple this size of the volume, not only that, the plot I have thought about in Volume 2...

Let's say the climax would be fire... I can't use emojis on Inkstone...

anyway, I need to make the start also fire and plot of Volume 2 a bit good such that it lives up to the ending, so the next chapter would take a while...

Also, I would keep the chapter length around 1.5k to 2.5k as it's pretty quick to make such chapters, I also will get more chances to build suspense and put cliffhangers.

Till then, Cya (❁´◡`❁) ... At least I am able to put such weird faces on inkstone...
