1 Sharingan Eyes

Uchiha's compound in Konohagakure.

A boy stirred under the moonlit night, finally rousing himself from the depths of a dreamless sleep. He blinked his eyes open and takes a deep breath, the air heavy and still. Foreign memories flash before his eyes as he looks at the sea of blood around him.

Yasui remembered. He remembered that he had died in his own puddle of blood after being stabbed multiple times by his psychotic roommate while he was sleeping. He didn't even know what he did wrong to trigger that person.

"Is this the afterlife? No, it doesn't seem like it." Yasui mumbled.

As he sat up amongst the corpses, he recalled many things from his new inherited memories. He is eight years old, and he is the little brother of Shisui Uchiha. Just moments before he took possession of Yasui Uchiha's body, he was spared by Itachi.

After sorting out the memories he gained, he realized that tonight… is the night of the Uchiha clan's slaughter.

He is very familiar with the Shinobi world. Particularly, his knowledge came from the anime, Naruto. Not only is this world dangerous due to the constant wars among nations, but it's also due to the fact that there are many destructive people out there.

This situation would've been a frightening moment for many people. For him… he felt relieved. Although his life was taken away in his previous world by his psychotic roommate, he somehow received a magical gift in the form of reincarnating into the Shinobi world.

When he thought about the things he left in the previous world, though, he felt an immense wave of bitter emotions. There were so many relationships that he abruptly left behind. He didn't even get the chance to take revenge on his psychopathic roommate. If he had the opportunity, he would've bashed that psycho's head in and hung him on the balcony.

At this moment, his eyes began changing. From his black iris, red began to take over. A tomoe sprained within his pupils and spun around. His one tomoe Sharingan had awakened, and it is at this time that he realized how much emotional pain the Uchihas underwent when they awaken their own Sharingan.

Looking around him once more after quickly calming down, Yasui stood up and walked to the nearest Uchiha Jonin corpse. He grabbed the storage scrolls on its body and made up his mind to live in this world.

And to live in this world peacefully, he did not hesitate to reach his fingers towards the eyes of the Uchiha Jonin.

With two swift motions, he gorged out the eyes of the first Uchiha Jonin and moved to the next. No matter which body he saw, he plundered the eyes from the corpses. Even little Uchiha kids were not spared by him because he did not want the Sharingan dojutsu to be taken by Danzo.

Yasui had a mission to complete within a limited timeframe, and he was going to do whatever it took to get it done. Thanks to the memories and chakra manipulation skill from the previous Yasui Uchiha, he was able to easily make use of the storage scroll.

Surprisingly, he didn't have to do too many eye gouging. Most of the Uchiha clan members that he came across already had empty eye sockets. After thinking about it for a bit, a distant detail that he hadn't paid attention to came into mind.

That's right. It should've been Obito who had taken the eyes of his victims. Yasui recalls that Obito had a whole wall of Sharingan to choose from after the Uchiha massacre. In his fight with Konan, Obito even seems to have used Izanagi to survive the constant barrage of explosive tags. Obviously, the used Sharingan came from one of the corpses of the Uchiha clan members.

Yasui shook his head and continued his search for the eyes. He didn't worry about his life because it seems that Itachi would not take his life. His only guess for why it's like this is that his older brother, Shisui, asked Itachi to spare his life.

When he reached the steps of the Uchiha Police Station, he paused because he saw a beautiful Uchiha girl laying peacefully on the ground. From her facial features to her clothing… there's no doubt that this girl is Izumi Uchiha… the closest person to have a romantic relationship with Itachi Uchiha.

In the canon, Itachi even used his Tsukuyomi to place Izumi in a fake life of bliss and happiness before taking her life away. His love for her is truly deep.

"I'm sorry for doing this, Itachi." Yasui sighed and grabbed the eyes of Izumi. He sympathized with Itachi and Izumi's backstory, but he still had to remove any future dangers for himself. Danzo was one of his future enemies, and he wanted to make sure that Danzo is as weak as possible, even if it is just by a little bit.

It should be fine if he let things be, you say? No. The future will definitely not follow the canon because of his existence. Each and every one of his actions will have consequences that will affect the future. He isn't naive enough to believe that everything will go according to the canon.

After going through almost all of the houses around the Uchiha compound, Yasui continued towards Itachi`s house according to the directions in his mind. When he got close to the house, he spotted a kid who fainted on the ground. He glanced at the kid and stepped past him.

It's just Sasuke.

Seeing Sasuke on the ground, he knew that it should be safe to proceed. Itachi must have already finished killing everyone, and he should have also left with Obito, and it's going to take a little while before the Anbu and Root shinobi to start acting.

Moving swiftly towards Itachi's house, Yasui entered and went to the room where Fugaku and his wife died.

"It's such a shame for a Magekyo user to die without fighting," Yasui commented and gouged the eyes of Fugaku and his wife. He wasn't sure what the abilities of Fugaku's Mangekyo Sharingan is, but Fugaku definitely had them awakened. It was hinted at several times in the canon.

The reason that it's still here meant that neither Obito nor Danzo knew that Fugaku awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan.

He also didn't know what the abilities of Fugaku`s Mangekyo are, and it's not his concern as of now. He wouldn't be able to use it anyways due to the fact that his chakra level and chakra control are still not up to the task.

Moreover, it might be useless if he transplanted Fugaku's eyes into his own so that he can develop the Eternal Magekyo. After all, the requirements to obtain the Eternal Magekyo are rather vague; only stating that one needs to transplant the eyes of a close relative.

Nonetheless, it is a valuable asset and trump card to have. Hence, he didn't hesitate and stored it in the storage scroll. Although it might deteriorate in the scroll if left for a long time, it should be okay to let it be in there for a few days.

Before it becomes useless, he planned to put it in the special flesh and organ-preserving chemical that's rather widespread amongst shinobi. The reason for this chemical being so common is due to the fact that shinobis occasionally use it to preserve the remains of their enemies.

After collecting the eyes, Yasui went to his house and hid the storage scrolls in a secret compartment.

Who would think that he was the reason behind some of the missing Sharingans? Surely, Danzo would just pin this onto Itachi.

He didn't even leave any evidence that could allow Danzo or Hiruzen to link the eye-plundering actions to him. He already cleaned his hands in Fugaku's house and wiped away any trace of his tracks. He even stole a lady's light perfume to mask the smell lingering smell of blood on his body. Although he's still a newbie at doing these things, his meticulousness should be more than enough. All that's left is for him to have an alibi, and that alibi is the kid who is still unconscious in the middle of the road.

Seeing that he might not have much time left, Yasui quickly ran to Sasuke and moved the kid into his embrace. If someone saw this scene, they would think that he is using his body to protect the kid–even if he is a kid himself.
