Genjutsu Theatre

Zabuza watched everything play out quietly. He had never reflected on his past before. It was strange to see all the events that had led him to this point. But what he saw is definitely true. This made Yasui more credible in his book. It seems that Yasui isn't full of dog shit.

Seeing that Zabuza began to trust him, Yasui continued his storytelling. He went on to show Haku's past to Zabuza.

He even imitated Haku's voice with his Genjutsu and narrated right to Zabuza's ears. He showed how Haku became an orphan, how Haku struggled to survive, and he also showed Haku's perspective of when he met Zabuza.

Zabuza became silent after seeing things from Haku's point of view. All this time, he had only seen Haku as a tool. However, he knew that somewhere inside himself, Haku meant a lot to him.

Yasui then began the main show–the battle of the bridge.

He created a whole theatrical surrounding. There are even narrations and sad songs! Yes! Even the sad background music! It's as if he's a movie director, recreating the scenes from the Naruto anime.

He showed exactly how Zabuza planned to go at the attack a week later after he recovered. Particularly, he showed that Zabuza used a thick mist to make the Sharingan less effective, and he also showed how Haku joined in on the fight to attack the Yasui and the others.

Yasui blurred some of Zabuza and Kakashi's battle. He did this to put up a safety measure, just in case he failed at convincing Zabuza. He wouldn't jeopardize his own team's safety for his own selfishness.

"This…" Zabuza saw the scene where Haku jumped in front of him, blocking Kakashi's jab (which is actually chidori that had been blurred).

Kakashi's hand went through Haku, and this ended in Haku's death. The scene showed that Zabuza didn't show any emotions right after Haku died.

It's at this moment that Naruto came running to Zabuza, giving his teary talk-no-jutsu speech.

Yasui had watched this scene multiple times, so he already had Naruto's whole speech memorized. Even he felt some shivers as he played it out.

The real Zabuza, who was watching the scene, finally realized his true feelings. Feelings that he had kept hidden all of this time.

Yasui ended the Genjutsu with Zabuza eventually dying after killing Gato. He died… while lying next to Haku. In the Genjutsu… he had many regrets.

Yasui fell out of the chair. He had depleted a lot of Chakra to create the scenes and story for Zabuza. At this moment, he is really defenseless. Even his shadow clone that was with Naruto and Sasuke had already returned back to him.

"What you have shown me… cuts deeper than any blade… even more so than the words that Naruto spouted." Tears tread down Zabuza's scary cheeks.

Haku looked surprised and concerned. This is the first time that he saw Zabuza showing any emotion.

"What did you see?" Haku asked.

"We will be betrayed," Zabuza said, his voice full of vexation. "I should have seen it coming, but I let my guard down."

"Who betrayed you?" Haku asked.

"Gato," Zabuza replied. "He hired us to kill the bridge builder, but instead of paying us for the job, he will go against his words and set up an ambush. We will die, Haku."

Haku was shocked. Was this what Yasui showed to Zabuza? Is it even reliable? He still had his doubts since he didn't see it first hand.

"That's terrible," Haku said. "What are we going to do now?"

Zabuza smiled bitterly. "I don't know. If we aren't hidden by Gato's organization, we will be chased by the Hidden Mist Trackers again."

"Wherever you go and whatever you decide to do, Zabuza, I will follow you." Haku helped Yasui get back on the chair and smiled at Zabuza.

"You need not worry about the Trackers too much, Mr. Zabuza. I have sacrificed a lot of my 'lifespan' to help you find the answer to your questions. The Hidden Mist will soon be engaging in civil strife between the Mizukage and the Clans, and their resources of tracking you will be pulled back. Furthermore, the side that you hate, the Mizukage faction, will lose. The bloody mist will not exist in the future." Yasui explained. Surely, his words will not hold some weight after he allowed Zabuza to see the theatrical show, right?

"Do you have any suggestions for what I should do? You didn't sacrifice so much of your lifespan for nothing, right?" Zabuza asked after putting away the kunai. He fully trusts Yasui now.

If Yasui doesn't have that special 'ability', then Zabuza didn't really know how else Yasui could see his most sensitive moments.

"What I want… is for people like you to exist in my world." Yasui smiled at Zabuza.

Zabuza's eyes shone. Is this really all that the boy wants? Is there even someone who is such a saint in this war-torn Shinobi world?

"If you'd like to take off, you can. You have plenty of time to hide from the Mizukage Faction. If you want to return and fight the Mizukage, you can just go to Clans Faction. But if you really insist on making a difference in this world, then please consider staying in the Land of the Waves. It will be great if you can set up a Hidden Ninja Village here. This land desperately needs it." Yasui explained.

Yasui recalled that after they leave, Gato's remnants will still be present, dealing a lot of damage to the Land of the Waves.

If Zabuza decides to stay and starts a Ninja Village while starting a partnership with him, that will be for the best.

In actuality, this was the benefit that he's after, aside from just wanting to save Zabuza and Haku.

"Do I look like I have the capabilities to run a village?" Zabuza asked, a little baffled. He really doesn't have the skills to run a ninja village.

"I may not look the part, but I have a good grasp of a village's necessities. I

"Regardless of what you do, I hope that you live a fulfilling life, Mr. Zabuza. You too, Haku." Yasui had gathered up some chakra, and it was enough for him to escape the building.

May seem a little forced, but oh well, xD.
