The words vanished and were replaced by a figure of a generic black-haired man. To the left of the man, a series of sliders appeared, and above him were categories.

"This is just like the Skyrim character creation," he thought, as he looked at the sliders. He felt slightly confused - was he in the Naruto world or inside a video game? After pondering for a moment, he decided it didn't really matter. He was either in the world he longed for or in a video game of the same world, so it was a win-win.

Looking at the sliders, he tried to reach out and move them. The first thing he did was change his hair. After looking through all the selections, he found many styles like Naruto's, Lee's, Kakashi's, Itachi's, and Madara's. Going through them all, he decided on one that looked like Sasori's - short and messy. He changed the color to auburn and matched the eyebrows as well.

He set his face to an oval shape and gave himself almond-shaped eyes, changing their color to purple. He set his nose to a button shape and slightly thin lips. To finish it off, he changed his height to 5' 10''. Satisfied, he looked towards the 'finish' button. Hesitating slightly, he decided to press it.

In a flash, everything disappeared, and he felt his head spin. A blinding light caused him to squint his eyes. Realizing he had eyes, he was filled with joy.

"Waaa waa," he heard the voice coming out of his mouth, and he instantly became confused.

"Congratulations, it's a boy," an old woman's voice entered his ears.

She grabbed his body roughly, wrapping him in some sort of cloth. His vision spun from the sudden change of events, and he looked around to find himself in some sort of stone room. He spotted a haggard-looking young woman lying in bed. Her face was full of sweat, causing her auburn hair to stick to it.

The old woman handed the baby to the woman. Seeing the loving look in her eyes, it all clicked, and her next words confirmed it.

"My son, my baby," the woman said, her sweet smile causing her purple eyes to narrow into slits.

I had been reborn. No game would start you as a defenseless child, so this must be reality. Quickly coming to this conclusion, he looked at his new mother and noticed the resemblance to the character he had created.

"Well, my job here is done. If you need anything, you know where to find me," the old woman said, turning to leave the room. Panic started to set in as he looked around the room. It didn't seem like his family had any wealth. Besides the bed, there was only a small wooden dresser with a chair and a medium-sized armoire. He didn't even see his father, so he wasn't sure if he even had one.

Seeing her baby looking around the room caused the smile on her face to deepen. Poking him in the cheek, she relished in his shocked reaction. "A curious little thing, aren't you? Your father isn't here yet, so we can't decide your name. He wanted a son, so I'm sure he will be happy."

The woman held me to her chest and closed her eyes. She must be exhausted because her breathing soon became steady as she fell asleep.

This was going to be a lot more dangerous than he thought. Closing his eyes, he tried to organize his thoughts. As he closed his eyes, a menu appeared on the left side of his vision.

[Weapons], [Apparel], [Scrolls], [Books], [Food], [Misc].

"This is like Skyrim?" he thought. Thinking up to this point, he forced his consciousness to ascend. Stars and nebulae filled his vision. At the top was a giant empty bar with "lvl 1" next to it. At the bottom, his health, chakra, and stamina were each listed at 100. Looking at the constellations, they were labeled Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu.

Focusing on Taijutsu, his vision zoomed in. Looking at the perks, he felt bewildered.

Opening his eyes, he came back to the real world. Looking around, he was not sure if time had paused or not. Looking at the blanket wrapping him, an idea popped into his head. Grabbing the blanket, he imagined it going into his inventory, and sure enough, it disappeared. Closing his eyes, he saw the blanket listed under "Apparel." Selecting it to equip it, he felt the blanket appear on his body again.

Opening his eyes, he looked at his sleeping mother, making sure the movement of the blanket didn't disturb her sleep.

As he calmed down and came to the reality of his new situation, he realized he could feel something in his body. Concentrating, he could feel a warm feeling in his body, chakra.

He felt the flow of chakra in his body. He didn't know if a newborn baby should have this much chakra, but the default amount for a high Skyrim character was 100 mana.

Realizing this, a smile formed on his chubby face. Even if he had no talent in being a ninja, the perk trees would make sure he was not ordinary.

Feeling the chakra flowing through his body, he tried to control its flow. Hours passed, and he still made no progress.

His mother's eyes began to tremble and slowly opened. She looked panicky at first before noticing he was still in her arms.

"Sorry, sweetie. Mommy was tired and took a nap. Thanks for being a good boy and not falling." A sweet smile formed on her face as she began to move off the bed, carrying the baby in her arms.

"How long was I asleep? Where's your papa? I hope everything is okay." Looking at the woman stand up caused his eyes to go wide. Did she just sleep through giving birth?

She walked towards the door and slowly opened it. Looking out the door, a light mist came into view. Along with the mist came the faint smell of blood.

She carried him outside, and he got a better view. Tall, stone, cylinder-shaped buildings littered the mountain area. Far off into the distance, one building was noticeably bigger than the others. He couldn't see the fine details due to all the mist.

Not seeing anything amiss, she walked back into the room. Shutting the door, she moved to sit back onto the bed. Holding her child under his arms, she looked him in the face.

Looking at his mother in the eye, he tried to figure out what she was up to.

"Boga, boga, boga," sticking out her tongue while making a strange face, she began to shake her head.

Looking at the woman, he felt a little strange. Is she crazy?

Seeing no reaction, she frowned slightly. "Boga, boga, boga," she repeated the same process.

Seeing this, he finally remembered he's a baby.

"Gaaa, gaa," putting on a fake smile, he laughed a bit. He didn't want her to think he was strange and kill him. This is the Bloody Mist Village, after all.

"Hehe, that's my boy." Pulling him into her chest, she gave him a hug. As she did, the door suddenly opened.

A tall man with a stern look walked through the door. He was wearing black pants with high-rise ninja boots, a dark blue shirt with diagonal black lines, and a ninja headband with four diagonal lines.

Seeing the headband caused his eyes to light up.

Standing up, she rushed towards the man. "Honey, look, it's our son." Her eyes beamed as she looked at her husband.

Looking at his wife and son, he found it hard to be happy. "Yura, I have some bad news. Iwa is attacking Konoha. They infiltrated Kusa and are laying siege to their borders. A war is coming." As he finished his sentence, the color drained from Yura's face.

Stumbling backward, she fell onto the bed. Looking at her husband with hope, she struggled to open her mouth.

"Nikko, there's no reason for us to fight in this war, right??" Hope filled her eyes as she practically pleaded with him.

He gently shook his head. "As far as I know, we won't be participating. But the different clans see this as an opportunity. Because we are an island nation, we are hard to attack. While the other nations are busy with each other, the clans see this as an opportunity to seize territory." Taking a deep breath, he looked at his wife.

"The clan wants us to head back."

"But we will be safe here! What about our son?!?" Rising to her feet, she flew into a rage.

"I see." He turned around slowly. "My clan comes first, and some newborn brat won't help them survive. Times are only going to get worse." Taking a deep breath, he looked at his wife.

Opening the door, he walked out.

Tears began streaming down her face as she held her son tight. A soft cry left her lips.

Looking at the father who just left and a crying mother, he began to feel a pain in his chest.

"You didn't even give him a name." Between the soft cries, she mumbled softly.
