Discussing Reasons

Konoha. Yamanaka Compound.

After couple of hours when Hanzo was finished with all assessments, he and Shinya came back home to have lunch, as they entered the house they heard Temari's voice: "Honey, welcome back home. How was your assessment?"

"It was good. I've acted as we practiced yesterday, I think there won't be any problem." Hanzo replied.

"I knew your could do it. Lunch is ready. Go wash your hands and come to the dining room." she said to the boy.

Boy nodded his head in agreement and went to the bathroom to wash his hands. Shortly after he came to the dining room and took his seat at the table and waited for all members of his family to come, in their family they wouldn't star eating unless all family members who're in village are seated at the table. Soon his grandparents and mother came and they started eating. While eating Hanzo was still thinking about today's assessment and his grandpa's words. He wanted to know why he had to act like that. His grandpa haven't explained anything after assessment when they were coming back, probably he would explain after lunch when they will be drinking tea.

When lunch was finished Shinya asked Temari to bring tea to the living room, not to the balcony as he always asked before.

"You did well today. I'm very proud of you, Hanzo." Old Yamanaka said smiling while drinking tea.

"As for reasons, it's because of secrecy. Secrecy is way of life of shinobi, our life is based on secrets and secrecy. We secretly try to learn other's secrets, secretly exterminate our enemies and secretly keep our own secrets safe. As a shinobi Hanzo, you must keep secrets and have secret methods to keep your secrets safe. Even now by drinking tea and having this conversation in living room, not at the balcony as we always do, I secretly keep our secret safe. If there's anyone who's been watching us, they'll think that today we just wanted to drink tea at the living room nothing more. We haven't done anything extraordinary and unusual to cause suspicious, cause sometimes we drink tea after the lunch in the living room. However, if we tried to gather somewhere secret or do some unnecessary extraordinary moves, like suddenly disappearing or using extra measures, we would cause suspicious. People would try to learn what we are trying to hide. This is what I mean by secretly keeping secrets safe. We are not samurai, we don't act effectively and publicly open. Shinobis act secretly and efficiently.

The other reasons are, your safety and privacy. Recently, the relationship between Great Villages is tense and it keeps getting worse. Too much of anger, pretension and hatred had been accumulated and it's about to explode. There's no other way, this explosion will be Second Shinobi War. So all Villages started preparing for the War by accumulating resources and army force, and by gathering intelligence on other Villages, especially Konoha. Because in First Shinobi War Konoha was victorious, we became number one target to all other Villages. Thus these Villages will try to infiltrate Konoha and gather all information they could. One of the goals of gathering information would be identities of young shinobis with great potential. Villages will try to identify these young promising shinobis and later exterminate before beginning of War or before these shinobis bloom at their fullest potential. So if today we showed your full potential we might drawn target on your back by our own hands.

As for privacy, if you showed your full power you would gather people's attention to yourself. Part of these people might look at you in awe, other will be uncomfortable and even hate you. Either way you would become uncomfortable of such attention to yourself, you couldn't live your life freely.

In conclusion, I want you to make this statement as rule in your life:'If you could count to ten show to the public that you could count to five. Let your closed one know that you could count to seven. Never show to anyone that you could count to ten.' "

Shinya looked at Hanzo and knew that he got all needed information and now proceeding it now.

"Hanzo, get some rest, today will be your unplanned day off. There wouldn't be any training, just go and think about what I told you."
