Konohagakure, Yamanaka Training Ground.

Middle aged man with blonde ponytail hair called Yamanaka Shinya was watching his grandson, five year old boy, performing warm-up training. Eventhough Shinya was 53 years old, which is very old for shinobi, he looked energetic his eyes had firm light and will.

" That's enough, Hanzo." Shinya stopped boy.

"You've been training your body for almost half a year, so today we'll start your taijutsu training which will be your main priority along physical training for next several months. Afterwards according to your progress we'll start your chakra training right before your admission to the ninja academy. Do you have any questions?" Sensei asked his student.

"No, gran... no sensei" Hanzo remembered how his grandfather strictly forbade him calling him grandpa during their trainings.

"Good. Shadow Clone Jutsu" senior Yamanaka performed hand seals.

" My clone will show basic kata of Konoha's taijutsu.You'll repeat it for 10 times, after that we'll finish and have lunch. Your mother and grandmother should prepare meal till that time. Let's begin."

-Shinya POV-

It's been almost 5 years since the end of the First Shinobi War. It was as very cruel war, it took lives of many shinobis. This war was first, but unfortunately it would not be last. As long as greed for more resources, wealth and power would last Shinobi Wars would continue.

Many people have thought that after ending Warring States Period by establishing Ninja Villages wars will stop and peace will come. At first, it truly happened, but after only a decade frictions between Great Nations and Villages started; to stabilize the situation First Hokage Senju Hashirama called first Five Kage Summit and presented to every Village a sealed biju. This was somehow optimistic, but neccessary solution because bijus were rampaged during that time. By this act Hashirama has solved biju problem and reminded his strength to all Villages. First Hokage was truly God of Shinobi, only his presence kept other Villages from rash actions.

Unfortunately, calm period for us lasted only a year till Ghost of Uchiha, Uchiha Madara, left Konoha and came back with controlled Kyubi to challenge Hashirama. After long and ground shattering battle Senju once again held upper hand against his childhood friend and rival, with the help of his wife Uzumaki Mito he sealed Nine-Tails. Battle was very tough for Hashirama, he had serious injuries only because of high vitality of Senju and Hashirama's healing ability he could live only for 20 months. His death was the end of peaceful times and beginning of turmoil in Ninja World.

Prior to ascendance of Senju Tobirama as the Second Hokage power vacuum in Konoha caused some tension between clans especially between Senju and Uchiha. After analyzing internal and external situation our Ino-Shika-Cho Trio Alliance agreed to support Senju. As a result of this agreement our Trio stabilized its position as a main strategists of Konoha, plus gained permission to sell fuinjustu for everyday use in Land of Fire; also we, Yamanka and Nara clans, became head and main force of the Konoha Intelligence Agency (KIA), under ANBU of Hokage, which was also proposed by us to stabilize Hokage's power and also serve as a guards on borders. As our part of agreement we had to provide certain amount of shinobis from our clans, mainly Akimichi both to ANBU and regular army. With this agreement we both stabilized village and strengthened our positions in Konoha.

Even Senju Tobirama was not as strong as his big brother, he was more cunning and cold blooded. In order to somehow compensate Konoha's power loss due to Hashirama's death he started several projects and created S rang jutsu as the last resort.Tobirama's reign was period of centralization of power and systematic development of the village. Second was so busy during these years that he even neglected his personal life. In order to increase productivity Tobirama created Shadow Clone Jutsu, later after discovering its potential Shadow Clones were used in battle and espionage.

One of the Tobirama's big projects was Shinobi Academy. A year before the First Shinobi War due to huge need of soldiers for the army Second established Shinobi Academy, which basically produced cannon fodders from civilians. Was it cruel, definitely but life itself is cruel. At least Tobirama gave them the proper training and chance for better life. This project was a big success, famous Tobirama Team was formed from first graduates of Academy consisting of Sarutobi Hiruzen, future Third Hokage, Utatane Koharu and Mitokada Homura, both had civil backgrounds. One of the other prominent team based on first graduates was team of Shimura Danzo, Uchiha Kagami and Akimichi Torifu.

Hi second big project was Chunin Exam. It was practical exam held in forest, which will later be called Forest of Death. Tobirama aimed to maximally simulate war environment such establishing Chunin rang as a main force of army during war.

Second's third big project was classification of shinobis, missions and jutsus.

Despite all these preparations First Shinobi War was a huge burden for Konoha. Due to rich resources of Land of Fire Konoha was forced to fight with three Great Villages at the same time: Kumo, Iwa and Suna. This hell lasted for total of twelve years causing deaths of thousands of people including Senju Tobirama and Yamanaka Arima.

My son Yamanaka Arima, who was born at 10th year after establishing of Konoha, was also the first graduate of Academy. He started at the age of 9 and graduated at the age of 12. Additionally to basic Academy training he trained Yamanaka techniques and swordsmanship. He was intelligent hard working shinobi, but due to his Uzumaki blood from his mother's side, Uzumaki Toka, he was also very energetic and active person. It was an enormous task for me to keep him at Konoha till he was 16. After obtaining his Chunin rang and proving his abilities to me I was forced to let him go to the war. But I have never left my attempts to bring him back to the village.

My next attempt was to force him marry Nara Temari, his childhood friend and later sweetheart, when Arima came back home after 2 and half years. I hoped that this will make him stay at the village. I was wrong, he left again after only 6 months of marriage and did not come back till near the end of war.

After one year when Arima came back for the second time, I urged Temari and Arima to make a baby. Temari became pregnant after 2 months, it was a great news. I even obtained stay permit for Arima from Hokage and used it to make him stay, my son finally agreed to stay till his child was born and became at least 6 months. Hanzo my grandson was born at 31st year after Konoha's establishment. Despite war it was one of the happiest periods of my life. This happiness lasted for 8 months till Arima left again... and never come back. He died during last battles of the war when he covered his teams retreat. He died as hero, as true shinobi.

When I received the news of Arima's death I was devastated and lost. It seemed like the whole life and world has lost its meaning, but my family needed me. Especially my young daughter-in-law Temari and my son's last reminder Hanzo. At that very moment I swore to help my grandson to become shinobi like Hashirama, so that he could protect himself and his loved ones. I knew it would be very difficult so I started preparing for couple years. During those years using data from Ino-Shika-Cho and KIA and our family's resources I prepared a training plan for Hanzo.

Fortunately, Hanzo grew very calm and obedient child, I triend to ease his pain from the loss of a father by becoming his beloved grandpa, I gave him best childhood I could. Now, it was a time for me to become his strictest sensei to guide him to become next God of Shinobi.
