Chapter 12

As much as I wanted to just pop back home, that was kind of illegal. Since I had been gone for more than a year, it was customary to go through the front gate. Plus, I could see Izumo and Kotetsu, probably. 

I walked down the path towards the open gate. A year had passed, well… eleven moths. I hadn't been gone for super long so the village probably didn't change that much… right? 

In those elven months, I had trained first with Katsuo to practice holding in and absorbing Natural energy. Then, a few other slugs helped me work on my healing ninjutsu. I also developed a habit of using the chakra scalpel for fighting. I wasn't Tsunade level, but I was probably better than Tou-san now. Not that I was bragging… After that, Lady Katsu had helped me with Senjutsu and sage mode. By then, the diamond was noticeable on my forehead. I could use it too. Not for long, but long enough for when I needed it. 

I could still use some practie but I needed to come back. Konoha could be attacked at any moment. It was probably my fault. I could have prevented it if I hadn't let Obito see my 'death.' But, after that, he probably isolated himself. Me leaving Konoha might not have helped. Maybe he came to take a look and ound I wasn't there, falsely confirming my 'death.' I was probably overthinking. I couldn't stop him anymore. Madara's seal would make sure of it. 

I also had a chance at practicing the Flying Thunder God Technique. Now, I could use it with my eyes open but I still needed to use hand signs. At least i only needed to use one hand now. My fuinjutsu also improved, but barely. 

I sighed and walked through the doors. I could sense Minato-sensei's Flying Thunder God imprints. Izumo and Kotetsu saw me immediately "Rin?" 

"Hi," I said. 

"You're back!" said Kotetsu, "Too bad we have to guard the gate, but see you later." 

I smiled and waved. I noticed that Kotetsu had changed the color of the cloth on the bridge of his nose. It had been maroon, now it was just white. The village looked the same. 'First stop, Hokage tower.' 

The streets were the same. There were more kids I didn't recongnize though. That made sense, it was almost time for naruto's generation to be born. I smiled. "Rin!" someone called. 

I turned around, sensing Kurenai and Asuma. "Hi Kurenia, Asuma, you two on a date." 

They blushed and ignored me. "I'm here too," said Guy from behind them. 

"Hi Guy, being youthful?" I asked. 

"Yosh! I shall increase my training. YOUTHFUL!" he left. 

I giggled, that hadn't changed. "See you later," said Asuma as he walked off with his… girlfriend. 

I ran towards the tower, sensing Minato-sensei and Kushina-nee in the top office. I jumped, startling some ANBU. Wait… I jumped and hugged the ANBU standing there. "Ack,' he said, "Get off me, Rin.' 

"KAKASHI!!!" I squealed, "Miss me?" 

"No." 

Minaot-sensei poked his head out the window, "Can you two be quiet? I'm trying to work here." 

"Sorry Minato-sensei," I laughed. 

He stared at me. "Rin?! You're back! You have to tell me everything!" 

I grinned, "Can I come in?" 

"Sure." 

Kushina hugged me and I noticed her stomach. "You're pregnant?" I asked. 

"Yes!" squealed Kushina-nee. 

"Congrats." I said. 

"It's a boy," said Minato, "I think we'll name him something ramen related! Jiraya's the godfather…" 

I glared at him, the looked at Kushina. "Jiraya? That pervert? Are you sure…" 

"He's my teacher," said Minato. 

No, no, this was one thing that had to change. The godfather couldn't be Jiraya, or at least there needed to be multiple. Jiraya was one of the reasons why Naruto ended up living on his own. If Jiraya had stayed, Naruto wouldn't have been treated the way he did. Jiraya was too irresponsible. 

"Can I be godmother?" I asked, innocnently. 

"Thats…" Kushina said, "Thats an AWESOME idea!" 

"It is?" asked Minato, "She's a kid…" 

"But," I said, "I am also a… SAGE!" 

He perked up, "You succeeded?" 

"Of course," I said, "I'm your student!"

Obito's 3rd Person POV

He was outside now. It had been so long sinc ehe had returned to Konoha. The last tim ehe had gone out… he had been in hell. Rin… his poor Rin…. he would get his revenge. He would destroy Konoha. But… how? 

Kakashi wore his ANBU gear, flowers in his hands. He knelt in front of Obitos 'grave.' Obito cringed, Kakashi betrayed him and now he dared… 

"I've been sworn to secrecy," Obito's ears perked up. 

Kakashi was telling a rock about his secrets. Ooooh, this would be good. 

"Minato-sensei's going to be a dad." 

Obito couldn't believe his luck. Kushina was definitely the mother. The seal weakens during childbirth. He could swoop in and release the Kyuubi on Konoha. "It won't be happening in Konoha," said Kakashi. 

Obito frowned and continued to listen. "Minato-sensei has a little hut thing outside of Konoha so that if anything happens, Konoha won't be destroyed. It'll happen on October 10th" 

Obito grinned evily, time to go exploring. 

He found it right outside Konoha, barely a five minute run for a shinobi. He smiled, this wouldn't be too hard. He would DESTROY KONOHA and send them all to hell, just like him. He memorized the coordinates. 'Kamui!' 

There was a small ripple, and he was gone.

I ran down the street. It was time to go home. "Kaa-chan!" I called. 

BAM! A book hit me hard in the face. I winced and looked at it. B-Rank Genjutsu. Oops. 

"Hello Rin," said Kaa-chan, glaring at me. 

"Hi?' 

"NO LETTERS! FOR ELEVEN MONTHS! I AM YOUR MOTHER! YOU DIDN'T THINK I WOUlD BE WORRIED? DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED WE WERE? YOU BETTER HAVE A GOOD EXCUSE! I'M GOING TO KILL YOUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" 

"Bye Kaa-chan…" 'Flying Thunder God!' I disappeared from her sight but I could still hear her yelling. 

"Hahahahahahaha" laughed Isobu, "You humans, so funny." 

"Quiet," I muttered. 'Flying Thunder God.' 

"Welcome home," you-san pushed Kaa-chan out the way and hugged me. 

I grinned, "Tou-san, it's good to see you. Can you help me get a medic-nin license?" 

His eyes lit up. "Yes!" 

I grinned at Kaa-chan who sighed and hugged me. "Next time though, don't do it again." 

I nodded. "Let's eat,' said Kaa-chan, "We need to celebrate your return!"

I sensed him alone in the 3rd Training Field. I grinned. "Boo!" 

No reaction, "Hi Rin." 

"You're boring…" I muttered. 

"So," he replied, "I got better at sensing. Here for a spar?' 

I grinned, "Yep." 

We sparred using only taijutsu, ninja tools, and basic academy ninjutsu. I got to practice using my chakra scalpel. I didn't use sage mode or Flying Thunder God and he didn't use what Minato-sensei had taught him. He definitely got stronger but so had I. It was like the good old days. I'm not that old… but still. 

"Ahhh…" sighed Isobu, "Young love."
