41 Fake

Zeus relocated his position after having found a much more secure spot. It was beneath another abandoned building. He had found a hole in the ground, most likely created in the aftermath of a major battle. Thus, hiding there, even if people walked inside the building, they wouldn't be able to find him due to his suppressed chakra.

Currently, night had dawned upon the entire village, and the shinobi of this place had somewhat calmed down after not finding Zeus anywhere. Of course, they were still keeping steady guard everywhere, searching for the intruder, but they have become much more relaxed.

After settling, Zeus once again sent his lightning eagle to explore the city, or rather straightly toward the Kage office. He hovered over the building at a distance to not be detected, seeing everything from above. Zeus had an inkling sensation that something shady was going on here during the night, especially considering the atrocious state of the Sand Village.

Throughout his day of staying here, Zeus understood that this village had little to no resources, and Zeus didn't really understand how they could keep functioning with just merchant-bought aid. Unless, of course, Kazekage was doing something behind the scenes.

Ultimately, Zeus's guess turned out to be correct. In the middle of the night, a figure came out of the Kage building. Upon closer examination, despite the hood over his head, Zeus recognized the Kazekage. After looking around a few times, the man traveled through the streets, eventually meeting up with Gaara, his own kid.

Zeus wasn't near enough to hear what they were talking about, but he understood that the conversation was pretty much one-sided. Both sides seemed to harbor ill intentions toward each other, yet they didn't fight, making Zeus interested as to what was going on.

Both the Kazekage and his kid traveled through the town, eventually entering a secret passage leading south of the village. Zeus missed sight of them for some time, but eventually saw them once again out of the village, having sneaked out. They slowly traveled through the silent night, only their steps resoundings throughout the vicinity.

They didn't exchange any words and just kept on moving, with Kage standing a few feet in the front. Eventually, the Kazekage stopped, signaling Gaara to take cover behind a rock, which was conveniently placed in the middle of this desert.

The Kazekage himself traveled onward.

'Did he bring Gaara in case of needing support? Is he that unconfident in his own strength?' Zeus thought, scratching his chin with his eyes closed. The image of that snake popped into his mind, and he smiled creepily. 'Someone that could help the village, yet someone who couldn't be fully trusted. Sounds like that snake to me.'

Zeus controlled the eagle to hover closer to the Kazekage, following him closely as he continued walking south. Eventually, the man stopped, for another figure appeared on the horizon. It was a lonely, undistinctive man, with a straw hat hiding most of his features. However, Zeus could recognize the man immediately.

Rather than recognizing him, Zeus had an inkling. He could feel the disgusting aura hovering around the man, circling and bathing the vicinity in its deadly aftertaste. There was no mistake there - it was Orochimaru.

Orochimaru lifted his head, whilst Kazekage stopped in his tracks. Zeus's eagle had descended from above and grown in size, hovering over both figures with an intimidating gaze. Zeus didn't wish for any trickery or plays - he only wished for revenge and blood right now, and that's why he was presenting his arrival. Being sneaky just didn't sit right with him.

"What is that?" Rasa mumbled, staring into the air. However, before anyone could answer his question, the eagle suddenly exploded, forcing a shockwave to push Rasa's hair back and reveal his forehead.

Orochimaru, who was already standing near the Kage, smiled beneath the mask, his gaze remaining locked on the beautiful explosion happening above. "A great calamity is going to descend upon us, Fourth Kazekage. I would recommend that you brace yourself."

"A calamity?" Rasa frowned, visibly dissatisfied. His hands turned into fists, as he was thinking that Orochimaru might be plotting something. Yet, he couldn't be more wrong. A figure suddenly appeared a few feet away from them. It was so fast that Rasa barely managed to blink before seeing a change in the surroundings.

The man was beaming with lightning. Rasa had met the current Raikage not long ago, and this man had a similar aura surrounding him right now. However, it didn't look as dense but instead felt much more threatening. Unlike Raikage's defensive barrier, this one seemed to focus solely on enchanting Zeus's speed.

The man had long white hair that spread up until his shoulders, which created a beautiful contrast with his dark coat. However, what disturbed Rasa the most was the enormous smile on the man's face. It looked both disturbing and creepy. Yet, that smile soon disappeared as well.

"Orochimaru, what is this?" Zeus frowned, relaxing his muscles. "I have made such a long journey, and the only thing that I see before me is a clone? Are you freaking kidding me?"

"You have grown, Zeus." Orochimaru licked his lips, unhinged. "To think that you have recognized something that even Fourth Kazekage didn't notice right away is remarkable."

"Cut the bullshit." Zeus sighed, killing intent exploding from his body and drenching the entire vicinity. "Where the fuck are you?"

"Perhaps if you defeat me, I might tell you." Orochimaru teased the man, momentarily closing his eyes. When he opened them again, however, Zeus was standing right in front of him, his eyes carrying a deadly glare. Before Orochimaru could even react, Zeus kicked the man in the head, sending him flying away.

Orochimaru tried to stabilize himself, sliding through the sand, only to understand that Zeus was already standing behind him. Orochimaru was unable to shift his body in time, as Zeus kicked the snake from behind once again, breaking his ribs into little pieces. Orochimaru flew away, raising back up after a few instances.

"You have indeed become incredibly powerful," Orochimaru said, holding onto his side. However, Zeus didn't let the man finish his words. With Overlock at a record-breaking 65%, Zeus was moving at incredible speed. He appeared behind Orochimaru once again, his index finger pointed at Orochimaru's brain.

"Since you aren't talking anyway, might as well get rid of this scorn in front of me." Zeus gathered the chakra at the tip of his finger, releasing a bullet-like blast that went right through the snake's head. Blood fell to the ground, whilst the man's features started shifting into something entirely different, proving that Orochimaru had indeed used another peculiar technique.

Zeus waited for a few instants, then suddenly raised back to stare at Rasa, who could be described as nothing but utterly stunned. Zeus beamed a smile, pointing his finger at the man. "Maybe you want to share his location?"
