The next day early morning Hiroto wolfed down his breakfast "Mom, Kakashi-nii is developing a new jutsu and I am gonna accompany him." saying this he made a run for training ground 7 before Kushina could respond.
Hiroto soon made his way to training ground 7 and saw Kakashi without any fatigue like yesterday. Kakashi at the same time saw Hiroto making his way into training ground 7 and greeted him, the latter returned it. After exchanging pleasantries, "I took inspiration from Rasengan and tried to add lightning nature to it. It didn't succeed but I got the inspiration for this jutsu. I am working on this for a few months but thanks to sharingan I made significant progress." explained Kakashi.
Like this Kakashi tried to make progress in Chidori and Hiroto also did his training but also remembered the hand signs required for Chidori along with the training process. A few days passed this way with the same action repeating itself sometimes Itachi also accompanied them.
Soon Kakashi can maintain Chidori for a few seconds but is trying to prolong the duration. One day Kakashi received summon to be back in the field so he left soon after taking leave from everyone close to him.
Like that a few months passes Hiroto and Itachi also notched up their training a bit and Hiroto is working on his calligraphy for learning fūinjutsu. The village is also experiencing a gloomy state as the third great ninja war is reaching its final phase intensity is increasing along with the death toll.
Itachi and Hiroto can only pray for their safety and hope everything will go normally. Soon the news reached Konoha that Kirigakure is preparing to surrender after four of the seven swordsmen died when they tried to ambush Konoha. Everyone in Konoha cheered upon hearing that. A few days later they also received news that Minato kept Raikage's sons at bay.
But the good days didn't last long and soon Kushina received news that Rin was kidnapped but soon Kakashi saved her, she breathed a sigh of relief before she could rejoice the rest of the message made her fall from the clouds. Kakashi and Rin are ambushed by Kiri ninjas and in the scuffle, Rin died at the hands of Kakashi.
Kushina reading cursed god for giving Kakashi that type of fate and feared how he is coping with this. She also feared how the kids are gonna take this. Soon she called Mikoto and her reaction is also no different from hers. Later that evening the kids got ready to leave the training round but before they did, they noticed their mothers coming at them and noticed the gloomy atmosphere around them.
Noticing their current states Itachi and Hiroto prayed silently in their hearts for nothing to go wrong but alas their hopes are meant to be gone down the drain. "Rin is no more, she died by Kakashi's chidori." Kushina said bluntly because even if she hid it now there is a chance he can come across it when passing by streets without dragging letting them have more hope.
Kushina knew how people's words can affect others. So she hoped for Hiroto and Itachi not to be led astray by their comments.
Listening to this Itachi's eyes turned red and his tomoe rotated slowly the tomoes in his eyes changed from one to two. Similarly, dark clouds covered the training ground with occasional lightning flashes and clapping sounds together with small tornadoes around the ground and there is a slight drizzle from those clouds formed.
After a few seconds, they lost consciousness and the phenomenon slowly disappeared. The mothers rushed forward and caught their respective kids before they hit the ground, with tears in her eyes "I don't know how long they get back to normal and Kakashi.." Kushina couldn't finish that sentence and can only sigh. Mikoto supported her best friend and soon they took the kids to the hospital in case of any discrepancies.
A few days later the kids woke up in their respective homes after getting a check-up in the hospital. The kids quietly finished their meals without a word and soon left for their training ground. At the training ground, they saw each other and rushed at each other. They kept attacking each other for nearly an hour and lost consciousness.
Two figures a black-haired woman with an Uchiha crest and a red-haired with an Uzumaki crest rushed forward and caught them. Seeing their kids the mothers can only cry silently and took them home. The next day the kids are somewhat ok but kept their words to a minimum, their families can only wait patiently for them to be normal again.
A few days passed and when the kids are returning home after an intense training session they noticed the streets are filled with civilians who are celebrating from their conversation they soon found out that Iwa surrendered thanks to Minato which brought the third great ninja war to an end with Konoha standing on top of the elemental nations.
Hearing this the kids smiled and made haste for their respective homes jubilantly. They also found their respective mothers in similar states. That night Konoha had a celebration at every home and every business. A few weeks later every citizen stood at the entrance of Konoha village to welcome their family, friends, and every ninja who participated and contributed to the war.
A few minutes later silhouettes started to appear and soon multiplied in number. At the family, everyone has tears in their eyes some being joy and others sadness. Hiroto and Itachi are also having reunions with their respective families. The Namikaze-Uzumaki family has one additional member Hatake Kakashi who is having a nonchalant look on his face and keeping up a mask without showing his true self.
Seeing Kakashi like that rest of them can only give up for now. The next day Hokage held a mass funeral for all martyrs in the war. After a few days, the village regained its peaceful atmosphere back. At the Hokage office, now Hokage held a jonin meeting with clan heads and council members being present.
Hokage started off the meeting by thanking everyone for their contribution to making Konoha victorious. Like that a few hours passed discussing various topics and soon Hizuren stood up and said "Now for the last and most important topic I am gonna retire. So we are gonna need new blood to push the village forward and for that, we need a new Hokage."
