Time: 1 month since the war ended

Location: Hanayuki Village, Land of Snow

[Mitsu]

.

It's been a month since the war ended between Iwa and Kumo.

I was easily able to make an alliance with the war torn Land of Hot Water and Yugakure.

At first, the Daimyo was a bit afraid. But when I hinted to him that I was the one that 'employed' the Nightingales to help his people, he readily agreed.

It was good really. I don't want to send too many people in permanent vacations. Umu, umu.

Also, Yugakure are suckers for peace, so the prospect of being tied to a prosperous nation was enough for them to join in. The Yukage was truly a peace loving grandpa... Without the dumbledore vibes, of course.

But enough about that. Now my minions and I were in the Land of Snow. Sitting in a restaurant, I had booked out for a meeting.

I was waiting for some guests to meet. My main target for coming to the Land of Snow was to get another alliance going, and get my hands on their advanced technology and train system.

But then I remembered that the current Daimyo of the Land of Snow was a douchenozzle... It took me a while to remember that there was a movie about this in naruto.

Though, once I did, here we were, ready to right another wrong, like the great noble nights we were.

I chuckled unbeknownst to myself, as I heard Fuzzy talk, "Mitsu-sama... Please don't tell me you are trying to cause another problem... For another country..."

He sounded tired.

I looked at him and smiled, "No my dear Fuzzy! We are here to do noble work!"

"And what are these noble works, if I may ask?" He looked at me with cautious eyes.

"You should have understood it by now, Fuzzy-senpai. Mitsu-sama already told us to investigate about the Land of Snow. And we know that the current ruler is a tyrant. So, obviously, we are going to free this country as well.

So Mitsu-sama, we are taking over Land of Snow as well right? To free it from the tyrant?" Ichi asked hopefully... Those eyes held too much hope...

Well yeah, my first target might have been the technology, but as we can free the people and get a better deal with the new ruler, so why not.

I nodded to Ichi sagely.

"Indeed my dear minion! You understand me so well! All we need to do is wait for Haku to bring my guests in and we should be all set!"

Ichi nodded while Fuzzy simply groaned trying to tune out reality.

Right then the door opened. And I smiled as I watched Haku bring my guests in.

There were only 2 people.

I had invited them for lunch. They readily agreed, after all I was a prince. Also quite famous among civilians.

But I didn't specify why I invited them. They just rolled with it.

One of my guests was a charming young lady, well she was an actress after all. And beside her stood her manager/guard, he looked remarkably unassuming.

Without getting out of my seat I greeted them with a smile, "Welcome, Fujikaze Yukie-san and you too… umm… what was your name again?" I couldn't for the life of me remember the dude's name.

"It's Asama Sandayu, Kaneko-Oujisama." The man introduced himself with a deep bow.

"Ah yes, yes, Asama-san. Please have a seat. Hope your movie shoot was pleasant today." I asked casually.

I had apparently offended the lady as she narrowed her brows and spoke in a slight haughty yet provocative tone, "Heh~ I didn't know that the golden prince of the Land of Fire was my fan? I am honored~

So, Mitsu-chan, do you want an autograph~?" She finished in a teasing voice. Probably hoping for me to blush or stutter.

Asama was sweat dropping beside her, while I could feel Haku changing to her 'Super Sweet Smile meant for torture' mode.

I, on the other hand, only chuckled.

"Indeed, Yukie-chan, I do need your sign on a paper, but I am afraid it's not for an autograph."

This confused them, as the girl asked intrigued, "Oh? What does the, oh so mighty prince require of me then?"

My smile doubled as I said sweetly, "As Fujikaze Yukie? Nothing. But as Kazahana Koyuki? A LOT." I stared intently at her. My smile still tugging my lips.

Asama looked pale while Yukie seemed outright terrified.

She started shaking under my intense stare.

This continued for a few seconds before I started laughing softly. Which surprised everyone in the room.

"Ou-ouji-s-sama... H-how?.." Asama wanted to speak out. But a look from me shut him up.

Sitting in front of me was no longer the over confident actress, but the princess of Land of Snow, a terrified girl, who was afraid of her past.

"Don't worry Yuki-hime~ Only I and my subordinates here know about your identity. And I mean you no harm." I said with a gentle tone.

She didn't believe me at all, as she returned with a glare, "And you want me to believe that? After knowing my identity, after knowing the Daimyo… You really want me to believe that you won't use me?

You also want me to sign something… What's stopping you from selling me to that monster! I won't give you anything."

She was agitated.

Well, of course she was…

"Yes, yes, I know all about Dotobaka or whatever his name is… I admit that I want something from you… Well, not really you per se… I want something from the Land of Snow.

But I am unwilling to make deals with tyrants like that Doto guy… I put the livelihood of my people first…

Honestly, I wouldn't even be meeting you for this. But the only reason I am doing so is because you are the previous Daimyo's daughter, and he was a good ruler… On that basis, I wanted to give you a chance, Yuki-hime.

I am still not sure if you will be a good ruler...

What I am getting at is, representing the Land of Fire, I want to make an alliance with the Land of Snow, as I have done with Land of Hot Water, Land of Water, Islands of Paradise and Land of Honey.

Also to buy a functioning blueprint of the train system from your country.

And it will be easier to make an alliance with a proper ruler, rather than a tyrant.

But before all that, my first question to you is… What do the people mean to you?" I asked. My eyes were staring intently at her.

[Kazahana Koyuki]

.

I thought I was going to meet the golden prince of Land of Fire. Recently, who had been the talk of the town.

A boy who had made his land prosper like no other. Made connections with Land of Water of all places, and even the people from that land can only sing praises of him…

Not to mention there are rumors about him being able to use <Wood Release> which is a big deal in the ninja world.

So when my manager came running with smiles and spouting nonsense about the prince inviting us to lunch, my first thought was that the prince might have seen my movies...

I thought he was a fan of mine… Maybe had a crush on me? It was normal for young boys after all.

I mean, I knew I was pretty… But… Not even once did I expect a situation where he knew my true identity.

Much less ask me such a question.

"What do the people mean to you?" He asked me while staring at me with those bright golden eyes.

It felt like he was looking directly at my soul.

I lowered my head to turn away from his gaze as I clenched my fists…

What does the people mean to me? I had never thought about that…

I hadn't been a princess for so long... I had abandoned them… I ran away to save myself…

But…

I still miss my lands… I still miss my people…

My father was a good ruler… He was naive sometimes, sometimes he was too forgiving… But the people loved him.

I want that… I want to feel loved by my people as I lead them.

I want my people to be happy… Get away from the forever biting winter… I want them to live peacefully in spring…

'It's what daddy wished as well... The power that lies in the crystal necklace... That can bring spring...' I thought

I thought back to all that had happened since I had left my country…

I remembered the struggles… The longing… The loneliness…

But this brought another question…

Can I actually help my people? Do I have the power? The ability?

I was just a girl… Yes, an accomplished actress, but a girl nonetheless. What can I do alone?

When it struck me…

He wouldn't be asking me all this… Unless…

I looked up and saw him still staring at me.

"Before I answer that… Can I ask you something?" I asked, my voice lacing with hope.

He smiled gently, and nodded.

"If… If you don't want to make a deal with Doto… What are you planning to do?" I asked.

He didn't even blink as he replied, "Find a better ruler duh~"

I couldn't help but chuckle at the incredulity of that statement. He made it sound so simple... As if he can remove my uncle with a snap.

But somehow... I wanted to believe him.

"I would like that… I don't care what happens to me. But if you can remove Doto and find someone better to place as a ruler who will take care of the land and the people… Then I will support you fully.

Because that's what the people mean to me. My people are what makes my country. They are the most important component of the Land of Snow. My father wanted their wellbeing, and so do I. I just want your help to bring spring to my country!" I answered keeping my eyes on his. Wishing that my feelings were being conveyed.

He smiled brightly. Now I understand why some rumors said that he smiled like the sun.

"Good, at least you know your people are more important than some title." He nodded and then closed his eyes for a second.

He seemed to have decided something. As he opened his eyes and smiled at me.

"Alright, I have decided. Let's liberate the people of the Land of Snow!" He said with a grin.

I noticed that the teenage girl and younger boy smiled at his declaration. I could notice a lot of respect and adoration in their gaze.

While the eldest of the subordinate's face palmed and muttered, "I hope this doesn't lead to a year-long war..."

I started to sweat drop at that.

On the other hand, Asama was super excited.

He had told me many times how the people were waiting for me to come back.

I knew all about the tyranny of Doto. And how the people were suffering.

And if the Golden Prince can help with that. Then I would owe everything to the Land of Fire. I don't care about some measly title!

But what the prince said next made me sputter.

"Well, hope you know how to be a Daimyo, Yuki-hime. You will need it! Hehe~"
