Assessment...

"This is delicious," said Mitsu taking a sip of the broth. Teuchi smiled hearing the brown-haired boy.

"Thanks for the compliment, boy. Are you the teammate of Sora?" asked Teuchi looking at the boy gulping down his bowl of ramen.

"Yeah. He is my teammate from now on. So, Sora invited me to eat here." said Mitsu between bites. At this time, Sora was working in the kitchen skillfully preparing a fresh batch of noodles.

"Does he work here?" asked Mitsu finishing the last drop of ramen.

"Well, he works here. He is a wonderful boy so I request you to take good care of him," said Teuchi looking at the back of Sora preparing noodles.

"Of course, I will. Though it is quite surprising to see him work in a ramen shop. Not to offend you or anything but I mean Sora is hailed as a genius in the academy and graduated early. I thought a guy like him will be very prideful and pay no attention to such works." said Mitsu.

"Well, he has worked here for full 2 years. Even I was surprised when he told us he will be graduating early. He usually doesn't talk about the academy too much here. And about pride or such, I don't think he cares about it. He is usually calm and mature so it is not that surprising." said Teuchi.

Mitsu was quite surprised. Though he didn't expect to see another side of a genius person like Sora, he was still quite happy knowing about his new teammate.

After a while, Sora also ate a bowl of ramen. While paying, Teuchi denied the money, but said," Do your best Sora. And Mitsu please come again."

Sora smiled but insisted to no avail. So, he gave up and said goodbye to Teuchi.

Exiting Ichiraku ramen, both went to the training ground. Seeing both Aoi and Riku missing, both Sora and Mitsu were bored and started talking.

After a while, Aoi also came. Listening to the two boys discussing, Aoi warned," Don't get in my way later on." Then she sat down meditating.

Listening to Aoi, Mitsu wanted to say something but Sora held him down.

Sora said, "We are going to be teammates from now on and are going to take the assessment of a jonin, So, I hope all three of us work together. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to pass the assessment."

Aoi looked at Sora seriously and after a moment of thought said," Okay."

Aoi is prideful but that doesn't mean she is stupid. She is one of the members of the main branch of the Hyuga family. So, she knows how powerful jonin is. She is not going to waste her time being bratty and failing the assessment.

Sora looked surprised but he quickly thought,' It's quite surprising. She agreed unexpectedly. After all, thinking about it, she is from a major clan. The ideas and the wisdom accumulated from guidance and teaching are not fake perhaps due to such treatment, she developed arrogance.'

After a while, Riku appeared in front of them. Riku looked at the three and said," For the assessment, you all are going to spar against me. Let me see your qualifications."

"Then let's start." said Riku.

Aoi and Mitsu looked surprised and quickly distanced themselves from the jonin. While Sora rushed to the jonin with a kunai.

Sora slashed the jonin with a kunai. But Ritsu quickly avoided and caught Sora's hand immobilizing him. But there was a burst of smoke, signaling it was a shadow clone.

At the same moment, ground broke and what appeared was a fist that managed to slightly graze the jonin.

Seeing his tactic fail, Sora quickly used flash steps to further the distance. At the same time, several shurikens were thrown towards Riku who calmly deflected them.

Aoi also rushed to the instructor, opening her Byakugan as veins started to appear on her face. She quickly launched the signature jutsu of the Hyuga clan, the gentle fist.

At the same time, Mitsu also finished weaving the hand sign for his Genjutsu.

"Kanashibari no jutsu( paralysis jutsu)" said Mitsu.

The Genjutsu seemed to hit Riku and he was paralyzed allowing Aoi to hit her gentle fist. But it was quickly replaced by a log. Riku appeared in a farther distance behind Aoi as he weaved the signs and said," Fire style fireball jutsu".

A great ball of fire was launched towards Aoi but she quickly avoided it the moment the jutsu with the help of her Byakugan.

Sora also entered his taijutsu range as he forced Riku into hand-to-hand combat. While another Sora seemed to hit Riku from behind.

Riku noticing the shadow clone quickly used a kunai to deflect the blow from behind as he was forced to take a chakra-coated punch from Sora.

Due to the strength of the punch, Riku was thrown in the distance. Feeling the strength of punch, Riku also decided to be a little serious taking out shurikens and throwing them towards Sora who quickly dodged them.

At the same time, Aoi also approached Riku and attacked him with the gentle fist again. Riku was attacked by both Aoi and Sora but using a body replacement jutsu avoiding them.

Riku also pulled the string attached to the shurikens which boomeranged and attacked both of them but were easily deflected with help of Byakugan.

Mitsu also finished weaving signs for another jutsu and quickly used " Vision blur" to create an opening for an attack. Aoi's gentle fist and Sora's chakra enhanced punch was thrown towards Riku.

But Riku was after all an experienced jonin, a C rank Genjutsu can't hold him for long and he avoided the attacks by jumping backward.

Riku landed on the ground and said," The assessment is over."

Hearing Riku, both Aoi and Mitsu collapsed with fatigue. Releasing successive Genjustu took quite a toll on Mitsu. The case of Aoi was also similar. While Sora also sat down to recover his chakra.

"All of you have exceeded my expectations. Good job. You all are a qualified genin." said Riku with a smile.

Hearing the words of Riku, Mitsu, and even Aoi showed a tired smile. Sora was also relieved. He was also quite tired of fighting a jonin. Though he had decided against taking off weights it seems impossible to catch up to the speed of jonin, even if he took them off.

Riku told the genins to come over tomorrow at 10 o'clock and left.

'These genins have truly exceeded my expectation. Especially the punch from Sora was very powerful, I almost thought my ribs were cracked and the shadow clone Jutsu is a B rank jutsu, how did he even learn that.' thought Riku.

'I can see why lord Hokage made me his team leader. After all, Mitsu and Aoi are justified as they are from a clan. Though the Kurama clan is in decline now, it is after all one of the foremost clans of Genjutsu and the Hyuga clan is one of the major clans of Konoha's' thought Riku.

While, Sora seemed to not get any benefit from being high profile. Making him have a jonin as a team leader has already shown the favour of the village. Other civilians usually only get a chunin as an instructor at most.

So, Sora's decision seemed to have been paid off.

A/N: Writing a fight scene is so hard (ToT). Longest chapter yet.

Today I re watched the road to ninja movie (about alternate Naruto verse). I felt quite emotional watching it but I refuse to admit I cried (Ｔ▽Ｔ).
