Genbu

Kuro came out of the room and saw Karin and Shiori playing with one of their chains at some distance.

Karin has increased the time she can hold the chain a little and plays with Shiori to train her handling.

She has been doing well, however, it will be harder for her to control them when the number of chains increase.

"Uh?" Karin looked at Kuro who was approaching and adjusted her glasses. "Did something happen?" She asked after looking at him carefully.

Kuro nodded and spoke when he was next to them. "I merged the bodies."

"Eh? I thought it would take longer." Karin cocked her head to the side.

"I got a little lucky." He grabbed Shiori and lifted her to his eye level. "I need you to ask your Grandmother something, okay?"

Kuro sent a clone using stealth to the Land of Frost, and then he entered the Land of Lightning until he found a place remote enough to leave a mark and disappear.

And now, the three of them have been traveling further and further to where Shiori felt the highest concentration of Natural Energy.

Based on the direction and the nation they were in, Kuro already speculated that the place might be Genbu, Turtle Island.

Such an assumption is reinforced every time Shiori indicates a change of direction.  

Despite there being some Natural Energy in some parts of the world, it was very sparse and not so concentrated to allow someone to learn the Sage Mode.

The difficulty of entering such a state and its rarity have also prevented people from searching very deeply for such energy.

The geography of the Land of Lightning was quite peculiar, but it was still a beautiful landscape. 

In and around the center of the country there are mountain ranges that reach up to the clouds and many rivers flow from the mountain ranges to the sea.

Turtle Island is constantly moving in such rivers, so normally aerial scouting would be needed to find him, however, they could avoid such a method thanks to Shiori.

They continued to hop between the mountains, always on the lookout for anyone.

Although they no longer wore the headbands of their respective villages, they could still be questioned if they encountered any Shinobi from Kumo.

Fortunately, Turtle Island was heading more and more in the opposite direction of Kumogakure, so the chance of encountering someone are quite low.

"He should be pretty close!" Shiori raised her head and looked around.

And as she said, after crossing a cloud cover, they saw the giant turtle.

This area no longer had high mountains and there were only rocks jutting out from the river, giving a clear view of Genbu.

"Mwahaha! I told you!" Shiori waved her paw and pointed at the turtle.

Karin woke up from her surprise at Shiori's shout and smiled at her antics. "What shall we do now? Shall we go straight?" She looked at Kuro.

He shook his head. "There is a giant squid guarding the place, and there might be someone living on the island." Kuro looked at her. "Can you use the Mind's Eye of the Kagura from this distance?"

She looked at the turtle and frowned. "I'll try." She closed her eyes and formed the Seal of Confrontation.

Meanwhile, Kuro grabbed some Kunai that had the Mark of the Flying Thunder God.

*Boom* A small explosion was generated in Kuro's palm as he threw the Kunai, causing them to fly out with incredible speed towards the island.

Karin opened her eyes. "From this distance I can't see the whole turtle, only part of him." She looked at him. "I couldn't see anyone, though."

He nodded. "That's enough." He squatted down before touching the ground and leaving a mark. "We'll go to that part you could see."
