Water Walking Excercise

The sunrise gave life to a panaroma of blue skies and clouds. But the canvas collapsed into waves as a pair of foot stepped over it.

Rayzen had brought Mikoto to the Uchiha training grounds that bordered the Naka river. There were a few training grounds adjacent to this. But the one where Rayzen frequented was usually used by kids, Genins and rarely Chunins. There were already some kids playing and training over there. With the majority practicing the Fireball jutsu.

He walked to the river bed with Mikoto following him energetically. Always being pestered by Mikoto into spars and seeing that the growth rate of her prowess was very far off from his, he decided to help the girl. This was so that she woudn't die early being an year away from graduation.

The world is ever-changing and just because he knows the future events doesn't mean the world has to revolve in accordance to it. So it is a possibility that Mikoto can die early and her being someone that he spent a lot of time with, he felt the least that he should do was to train her.

" So what are you going to teach me, little Ray? " asked Mikoto while she emphasized 'little Ray' to tease him.

" Chakra control! " He turned back and said as he reached near the waters.

Mikoto felt something was wrong. Usually, Rayzen couldn't handle such a simple tease and the two would start fighting. But this time, there was no reaction from him.

" Why are we here then? I am already proficient with tree climbing after all our training and spars. " asked Mikoto in doubt.

" This is where we'll do the next excercise for enhancing your chakra control - Water walking! " Said Rayzen while his visible eye had a sinister shade to it.

This was the exact spot where Rayzen had practiced water walking. He decided to help her with water walking, only so that he could drop her into the waters. How could he just help someone who always annoy him, without seeking any payment. Although childish, it was time for payback!

' Hahaha... I'll make you regret for annoying me all the time, you foolish brat! ' thought Rayzen.

" Although this exercise needs time and effort to master, I know another easy method. " Saying that while being barely able to hold back his laugh, he went to her side and tried to pick her up.

Mikoto directly punched his face, when he tried to pick her up. She shouted embarassedly: " What... What are you doing?! "

Barely able to hold back his instinct to punch her in return, he explained to avoid further misunderstanding:

" I need to carry you to the water for training. Do you have any other suggestions as to how I can do that? "

Understanding his intentions, she allowed him to carry her. While she was blushing being carried like a princess, Rayzen was focused on his goal for the day.

As he reached a place of enough depth, his mask covered the sinister glee that had formed on his face. He told the girl in her arms:

" Now, let's begin the training. Hold my shoulders and tried to stand on the water by using the repelling force from emitting a constant stream of chakra from the bottom of your feet. "

Seeing that she understood he revealed his real intention :

" Since this is difficult to master as the amount of chakra that needs to be emitted changes constantly, I have a simple solution. I'll drop you, if you can't stand on the water using your own chakra, every... single... minute. "

Unable to hold back anymore, he let out a sinister laugh.

" You... You are bullying me- " Her resistance was cut-off as he began counting back from sixty.

And just like he said , he dropped her after a minute. Mikoto was only able to stand on water for a few seconds, due to the sixty seconds she had for practice. Although she dropped down, she swam back up and glared at Rayzen.

Rayzen didn't know that she could swim, but on second thought, it would be embarassing if ninjas, who were supposed to make use of their environment in battles, couldn't swim.

' Atleast, she is ticked off. That's more than enough! ' thought Rayzen.

Each time she fell, he counted only after the water was calm again. And each time she fell, the seconds she was able to stand on water increased. Within ten minutes, she was finally able to stand on water and she started walking to master the excercise.

This time Rayzen only had to pick her up each time she dropped when she tried to walk. An hour passed and she was now able to run on water. Once she reached that stage, she smirked at Rayzen.

" Hihihi... Now I'll return your kind favour! " As she said that she ran towards Rayzen intending to pull him down into waters.

Rayzen had a mocking expression underneath his mask as he waited patiently for her arrival. Just as she was an arms distance away from him, he used Micro-Burst jutsu. The point of release being one of his feet.

The water got agitated so much so that, she lost control of the technique and fell into the waters. Nonetheless, she pulled a suprised Rayzen by his feet along with her.

The two couldn't be any more drenched and just played around trying to sink each other. Although it was fun, Mikoto's mastery of the technique rose so much so that she was being increasingly adept in its usage.

The two of them were in their own world and were consciously ignoring the kids around them. But after some time they had to pay attention, since the kids they thought were minding their own business were projecting their hostility onto them.

" Hey Mikoto, is any of these guys your boyfriend? They look like they want to beat me to death. " Rayzen asked sarcastically in a mocking tone.

" Hey Ray, are these guys your girlfriends' brothers? They sure do look like they want to beat you to death. " Mikoto retorted.

Rayzen: " Really now? You think it's funny. If I had a girlfriend, wouldn't I be with her all the time instead of an annoying brat like you? "

Mikoto: " You are the brat! I am older than you and I told you to address me as senior. How much boorish can you be, little Ray? "

Rayzen: " Didn't I tell you that you must have the necessary qualifications for me to address you as a senior? Beat me in a fight and I'll obey whatever you say. That was the deal, brat! And if you lose a hundred times, you have to do what I say."

Mikoto: " Training spars won't count! "

Rayzen: " 96 left! "

Mikoto asked while trying to hide her concern:

" Now what do we do about them? "

Rayzen replied indifferently:

" Let's continue ignoring them, they will go back to their homes, when they are tired from glaring at us for too long. "

He had an inkling as to why these kids were waiting for him to come to the shore. But the initiative was in his hands and he didn't feel like entertaining them and ruin the fun-time he was having with Mikoto.
