Identity

Takeshi was in his own thoughts, as he sat back on the ground, casting a tender gaze at his son. But, after a while he noticed Rayzen's chakra circulation had some drastic changes, as his fair white body slowly turned red. Takeshi stood up and went infront of his son and activated his sharingan. His coal black eyes turned into a 3- tomoe sharingan as he focused his seemingly demonic gaze on his son.

He vaguely sensed the increased chakra currents converging into Rayzen's eyes. At the same time, he felt something weird happening to Rayzen's left eye. Following that, he sensed the chakra currents in Rayzen's right eye.

Takeshi realised something, but nonetheless was not sure of it, causing him to frown. His guesses were halted by the sudden stirring of Rayzen, as his body slowly went back to his normal colour and his chakra circulation died down, but as he slowly opened his eyes, Takeshi got the shock of his life, finding his guesses confirmed.

His jet-black right eye was now red with a single tomoe spinning fast and it's revolution was slowly dying down. Whereas, his left eye had now a snow white pupil and irises, with the border taking frost white colour, instead of the jet-black one.

It was a Sharingan and a Byakugan!

As the tomoe of the sharingan settled, his right eye went back to jet black color, after a moment. But the left eye remained the same. And Rayzen fainted.

Takeshi came out of his reverie as he saw his son had fainted due to chakra exhaustion. He immediately caught his son, before he fell down face first on the ground. He took him back to his house, as he thought of the chain of events that his son will indirectly trigger. He sighed as he whispered to himself:

" The village and the noble clans will be busy... Whatever... A bird has to protect its chick before it could fly..."

Rayzen woke up feeling sandwiched by what seems to be two bodies, one shorter and the other bigger than his 3.5ft height body. He opened his eyes groggily to see Sora and Toshiko cuddling him. Sora was half an year younger than him and Toshiko was born ahead of him by two years.

Rayzen slowly tried to pry his body out and went out of the room to meet his father. Takeshi saw Rayzen coming out of the room, and told him to get refreshed and come to the living room for a talk. Rayzen took a short bath and when he went to mirror to arrange his appearance, he was shocked and took a step back in suprise.

In the mirror, he saw two eyes staring back at him. A jet- black eye and a snow white eye.

' Byakugan ! '

'Wow!'

He sighed as he thought : 'Things are getting complicated. I need answers!'

Rayzen restrained his curiosity regarding his eyes and went to his father to ask which unfortunate Hyuga was his mother.

Takeshi and Rayzen sat facing each other on the floor, having two cups of tea on the table separating them. One had a conflicted expression on his face while the other had an inquisitive one.

Takeshi took a sip of the warm tea, and placed the cup on the table, as he asked:

" Did you discover anything new? "

Rayzen didn't speak but pointed to his left eye.

Takeshi nodded and spoke seriously:

"As you might know, that's Byakugan, the dōjutsu kekkei genkai (bloodline limit) of the Hyuga clan. Apart from that you have awoken the Sharingan on the right eye, the dōjutsu kekkei genkai of the Uchiha clan. I understand that you have many questions. But first, let me tell you how you were able to awaken both..."

Rayzen didn't intend to stay there any longer. He needed some alone time. He slowly walked to his house, as he thought of what his father... no, 'Uncle' narrated to him.

Rayzen was born to Uchiha Takeo, younger brother of Uchiha Takeshi. And to Hyuga Hitomi, a member of the main house and the daughter of one of the elder of the clan, Hyuga Hideki. Apparently, they were a secret couple, soul-mates from what he heard, and once they learnt that their frequent trysts led to Hitomi being pregnant, things got serious.

Both Hideki and Takeshi were raging when they heard of the love affair, since both were from noble clans, and such a thing was just short of taboo. But, the news of a child expected to be born, called for concession. Both of them were not black hearted, even though they comitted murder and possibly more. Takeshi only had his brother as family, they were orphans, while Hideki and his wife only had a single child.

And since the mortality rate of ninjas are very high and them being from noble clans meant the clans will slowly fade out of existence, if the coming generations decreased in number. All this reasons and love, forced Hideki and Takeshi to secretly support their relationship.

Since this was an issue, that might lead to execution of the couples and the unborn child, they carefully planned out everything. Before, Hitomi's stomach started bulging, a mission was arranged to be taken by the couple using some connections and they settled outside the village, till the child was born.

Things go never as planned...

At the time of birth, Hideki, his wife and Takeshi came to help. All of them were suprised that instead of a single child, twins were born. One had jet-black eyes and the other had a pair of frosty white eyes. They were relieved and happy. Since instead of the child being only able to live with one of his parents, one can live with the Uchihas and the other with Hyugas till they were powerful enough to protect themselves from their respective clan.

But not everything was good news for Rayzen. Takeshi told him that his parents died, on the way back to the village at the hands of enemy nin from Kumogakure.

Rayzen understood the rest of what happened. He was taken in and brought as Takeshi's illegitimate son with Asami. Even his wife, Arisu believed it. But she also heard Rayzen's story when Takeshi talked to him and apologized to Rayzen for treating him cold. She treated him like a mother, all the same like before, but now, instead of coldness, he could feel a genuine warmth from her.

Takeshi also informed him that he was not allowed to meet his brother nor learn his name to prevent him from going after him. Takeshi told him that the Uchiha and Hyuga do not like each other, given that who has the better dōjutsu being a sore spot for both the clans. Hence, Rayzen and his brother had the potential to bring both the clans to make an alliance, which increases their power of authority in the village. The civilian council and the Hokage was wary of the Uchiha gaining an ally in the Hyuga, so the brothers were forced to be apart, unless they meet on their own.

Before he left Takeshi's house, he was given a dark-blue mask to cover most of his face just like Kakashi and a set of contacts along with a grey head band to cover his left eye, with it having the Uchiwa symbol. The head band had seals on it , which prevented anyone from discovering his Byakugan.

Rayzen reached home by afternoon after walking slowly. He greeted Asami, but wasn't that enthusiastic, he had a lot going on his mind. And Asami seeing he was depressed, didn't enquire, but let him have some time to himself.

He went to the master bedroom and tried sleeping early. It took him hours to calm his racing mind and sleep.

Asami was observing Rayzen, from the time he came back. She was worried on seeing him depressed. She saw a few drops of tears slowly dripping from his closed eyes. And as she saw him drifting off to sleep, she cuddled and slept with him, so that she can atleast soothe him, by providing some warmth.
