50 A Threat Gone

Unknown to me, Uzushio used in that state was such a massive jutsu that it could be seen all the way from Konoha, just like a mountain in the distance. The people at the city hadn't been informed of the events that had just transpired yet, but they knew that their newest Jinchuriki had to be involved in a technique of such a magnitude.

Hiruzen was silently staring at the distance, reminiscing of times past, where he and Danzo once were allies that fought on the same side of the coin. Alas, life was a road of twist and turns, and they ended up as enemies because of a difference in oppinions... and a few mental illnesses.

There was a group of people though, unknown to us both, that had witnessed the magnitude of the attack and, worried of it being an invasion, decided to investigate the area closer. This group being Naruto, Jiraiya and Tsunade, who had just arrived at Konoha. They immediately rushed towards the Weekborn Lake and upon arrival, found a shocking sight.

Jiraiya didn't know me personally, though he had heard of me from the old man if I heard him right. Tsunade was completely unaware of the current situation of Konoha, so she didn't have the slightest idea of who I was... though not for long. The most shocked of them all was none other than Naruto, who had just realized how far ahead of him I, his childhood friend, was. There was no way he could perform a Jutsu so strong. I found his frustration funny, considering how insanely strong he would become.

After a while, I stopped the Jutsu, creating from nowhere a heavy drizzle from which a rainbow was born. The scene would have been beautiful, hadn't it been for the body of the Elder now traitor, Danzo Shimura, lying lifelessly on top of the water. The only reason it wasn't sinking was because... well, recovering his body from underwater, as easy as it could be, would be troublesome. It was easier for me to just keep it afloat.

I turned towards my spectators, Tsunade instantly getting on guard only to be surprised when both Jiraiya and Naruto just looked at me surprised. Only then did I realize that I was still in my Chakra Mode, prompting me to undo it and show only my Sage Mode, which earned Jiraiya's and Tsunade's surprise -Naruto being ignorant as he always was during his just graduate year. After undoing my Sage Mode, I walked towards them while making Danzo's body float beside me.

Jiraiya looked at the body and me, his head moving back and forth, until he settled his gaze on me. I could tell from his eyes that, much like Tsunade, he wanted an explanation on why I was "carrying" the body of member of the Council like that. Not wanting to deal with either of them -and much less with Naruto who would surely be a bundle of questions- I simply dodged the questions.

"Hiruzen-sama will be able to explain it much better than I will, let's just go with him"

After saying my piece, I flickered all the way to the old man's office.

*

Not long after me, perhaps a few seconds, both Tsunade and Jiraiya arrived at the scene. Naruto had been sent back home, since this matter was beyond him. Not like I minded, the less things I had to explain to him the better.

While Hiruzen explained to them both what had happened and how the situation came to be, I analyzed the fight.

'I did well, but...'

Thinking back to the two times I almost died, I couldn't help but think I needed to up my training. One was a mistake because I still lacked experience in tactical fights, while the other one were my senses not being able to catch his clone, probably because of the stress I was under. My only option was to ask both Jiraiya and Kakashi to help me train. Perhaps even Tsunade, who I was sure had to regain her edge on fighting after being away from action for so long.

With my plan of action for the next couple of days set, I caught a set of words that picked my interest.

"Also, the last thing I'll do as Hokage, is promoting Ryota-shounen to the rank of Jonin. While not the youngest, thanks to Kakashi, he is one of the few who reached the rank at such a short age"

Tsunade seemed like she wanted to argue, probably not taking well to the idea of such a young kid being given such a big responsability -that carried an even greater danger. Still, I was anxious about the next part of my mission. being present during the Council Meeting to act as witness.

*

"I've called this meeting to announce two pieces of news. First, I've taken action on erasing a threat to Konoha with the help of Ryota, the newest Jonin to join the ranks..."

Hiruzen went on to explain what had transpired. He didn't face any form of resistance to either appointing me as a Jonin -mainly because everyone knew that Danzo was as strong, if not stronger, than any regular Jonin- or the fact that he had Danzo killed. The other Elders tried to complain about his rash decision, but he brought out of nowhere a VHS in which he had recorded the entire video of my interaction with Danzo earlier on in the day.

"Now that that is out of the way, I wanted to ask everyone something that I consider important in the current situation Konoha is in. With one less member in the Council, I wanted to raise the Inuzuka Clan as the new attendees"

There weren't those many Clans in Konoha who could get a place in the Council and, seeing how the future looked for the Inuzuka with me as the future Clan Head -which I was sure wouldn't take long for me to be appointed as by Tsume-, everyone agreed to it.

Overall, I had peace of mind knowing that one of the major threats to Konoha was now gone froever from the village. I had made sure that the body was burned down so that not even ashes remained of it. That way, no one would be able to get free samples of Hashirama's DNA or a Sharingan from it.

'What will this life have prepared for me next, I wonder?'

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know the Council is only composed of the four members we know as the Three Elders and the Hokage, but in my story the Council refers to the meeting of Konoha's most important figures, those being the heads of the strongest Clans, the Elders and the Hokage.
