9 A New Team

The following day I woke up to the sound of a snoring Choji. Since everyone stayed up till late, the guys slept in my room while the adults were asigned a guest room per couple. Tenten slept with my mother. I couldn't help but sigh when thinking of how my mom treated her. Even if it was the most logical thing, she still wasn't her daughter-in-law.

"Sighing so early in the morning isn't healthy"

"Says the guys who sighs all the time"

After that we looked at each other and sighed at the same time, as if it had been practiced for a long time.

"What a drag" "What a drag"

Once again looking at each other, we began laughing without being able to hold it back. It seemed we were loud enough to wake Naruto, Kiba and Choji up, since they looked angry at the way they were forced to leave their dreamlands. There was someone though who seemed to have other problem.

"I need to go to the bathroom. I ate too much, dammit"

Without even giving us the time of the day, Naruto ran straight for the bathroom. I couldn't help but sigh at first, but Kiba and I almost puked the next moment.

"Someone please plug my nose!"

"Naruto I swear I'll kill you!"

We hadn't taken into account the fact that Naruto would take the most putrid shit in his life while on the Inuzuka compound. I would never see the end of it if someone where to faint because of the smell. Luckily, I could redirect my chakra to temporarily stop my sense of smell. It was a little trick I had learned -in case I had to face Naruto's fart, like Kiba in the Chunin Exams- and it proved useful now.

"They won't let you in ever again, you know that, right?"

"Ugh... I already said I was sorry... geez"

"Well, it's not your fault we have acute senses, but it is your fault having eaten so much"

We were currently waiting for Iruka to tell us which team we'd be working with for the rest of our time and, to kill time, we were making small talk here and there. Sometimes I would get a question or two about a few things. The most annoying thing about the Academy, at least for me, was the constant feeling of infatuation I kept getting from the girls around me and Sasuke. It was disgusting, to say the least.

"Ok everyone, the teams have been decided!"

I turned off my brain until I hear something that almost made me scream in confusion. I knew that I had changed Canon a bit already, but I didn't want to change that exactly!

"Team 1, Kiba Inuzuka..."

Kiba wasn't in team three with Hinata and Shino. From that point onwards, I paid attention to everyone else, but nothing had changed besides that little fact. Then came the last three graduates left and, as I had expected, I was with them.

"Team 8, Ryota Inuzuka, Hinata Hyuga and Shino Aburame"

I didn't mind Shino, he is a good guy, just had a hard time expressing his emotions through words. Now Hinata was a different case altogether. She was reluctant to hurt others and, currently, lacked the motivation to become stronger because of her inferiority complex. Tenten was a strong girl and she had the drive from the beginning. Hinata, on the other hand, was a weak girl with no drive.

(A/N= I bet you've never seen an author bash Hinata like that. I like Hinata, but that is my oppinion of her until the Chunin Exams. I always felt like she shouldn't be a Kunoichi. She works better as a house-wife. Now Imagine my oppinion of Sakura... oof.)

I couldn't help but feel like I would have to help her get rid of her complex too and, sorry Naruto, but you're the only motivation that would work with her.

"Ok, Team 8, you have to wait in classroom 2 for your Jonin instructor to arrive"

We had been waiting for a while without any of us saying anything. It was beginning to get in my nerves, so I decided to break the ice.

"Ok, you know me and I know you, but let's introduce ourselves, since we haven't talked too much with each other"

Shino looked at me and just nodded. I was glad I could feel emotions, since I could tell he was glad someone spoke first. It would be a problem if I couldn't understand what he meant.

"O-Ok, Ryota-kun. I'll begin then. I-I'm Hinata Hyuuga, and I especialize in Taijutsu and, of course, the Byakugan"

"I'm Shino Aburame and, as a member of the Aburame Clan, I am good at using Insects for many purposes. I'm good at Taijutsu too"

"Ok, I'm last. Ryota Inuzuka, good a Taijutsu, Ninjutsu and my clan's Imitation Beast Ninja Arts"

Once we were done with the introductions, I looked at a certain corned of the room, which confused Hinata and Shino slightly. They both followed my sight and, to their surprise, Kurenai Yuhi was standing there in all her might.

"You knew I was here from the beginning, right?"

Instead of answering her question, I just smiled brightly and nodded. I could work with this woman quite well, since she could help me train to recognize and dispel Genjutsus, her specialty. Once she had looked at each of us for arond 10 seconds, Kurenai walked to the front of the class and wrote her name on the chalkboard.

"I'm Kurenai Yuhi and I will be your instructor until you're allowed to work solo. I specialize in Genjutsu and reconnaissance. With Ryota-kun here, we'll be working as a search and capture team. Questions?"

It was me who lifted his hand wanting to ask a question. I knew perfectly that we wouldn't be doing any dangerous missions until Kurenai thought we were ready but... I was raring for some action.

"Yes, Ryota-kun?"

"When do we begin, Kurenai-sensei?"

The reason why I picked Team eight is because, when I thought about which team would work better with Ryota's skillset, I couldn't help but think that only these two could work properly with him. Hinata has the Byakugan so his Mist won't bother her, while Shino can be guided by his insects. That would make them the only two people who could fight alongside Ryota while he is using his full capabilities.
