Rai contemplated his progress, realizing that his advancement had slowed while he remained in the academy. His potential was hampered, his abilities limited.

The written test was designed to assess our ninja knowledge, strategy, and history. The difficulty was greater than I expected, but if I struggled, they surely had no chance.

"What? Sensei, are you sure the grading is accurate?" Haru's exclamation was met with assurance from Kyasychi.

With a despondent expression, Hyuga Megumi voiced, "How did a civilian surpass both of us?" Rai appeared nonchalant, engrossed in his book.

The obstacle course followed, and we prepared to tackle it. I glared at Rai, seemingly unperturbed, which further fueled my determination. I would win, asserting my supremacy.

We took turns racing through the course, each with a timer. I led the charge, followed by Megumi, who was nearly as fast. Rai's turn came, and he moved through the course confidently. Despite this, I was confident in my victory.

Surprised and nearly crestfallen, I felt tears welling up, though none fell. Megumi appeared equally disheartened, while Rai's nonchalant demeanor remained intact.

The final test comprised one-on-one combat against a genin instructor. The Hokage watched, expecting great things from Rai. The experienced genin instructors discussed the trio's potential, watching for any special abilities, particularly dojutsu.

I was the first to engage. Facing my opponent, I unleashed a kunai to mask my actions and followed with a Fireball Jutsu. I managed to hit him or so i thought, I was shocked when he revealed a clone, he was already behind me. It was to late i quickly turned around ready to engage combat, i tried my best to keep up. His experience and honed style tromped my Uchiha taijutsu, then a flurry of attacks subdued me.

My arrogance had backfired, exposed by my lack of Sharingan. In silence, I retreated, wounded and dejected.

"Next, Hyuga Megumi." She performed admirably, hitting chakra points but ultimately succumbing to a water-based jutsu.

"Next, Tasumi Rai." I looked on, eager to see his performance.

Rai's Perspective

As the instructors faced off against the three of us, I took in their scrutiny. The genin instructor directed his skepticism towards me, questioning my early graduation. His arrogance irked me, but I remained silent, awaiting the match.

"Begin."

Undeterred, I faced his skepticism head-on. His warning went unheeded as I calmly prepared.

In an attempt to provoke me, the Genin arrogantly advanced. I threw a kunai, which he dodged. I used my jutsu statics step to quickly flash in front of him. As i closed in, I struck, throwing a punch. He dodged and counterattacked, He threw a vicious knee that struck my stomach or what was assumed to be. Then, it was revealed to be a clone, I was already behind him before he realized and my hands landed on his shoulders, i releasing searing electrical pain into his body. Almost 50 mA of electricity coursed through him, rendering him incapacitated.

This was the Lightning Hands, based on Electric Spark.

D-Rank - Lightning Hands (The user releases electricity through their hands, potentially fatal with sufficient chakra input) This jutsu held promise; with a kunai in one hand and a lightning-charged fist in the other, it could reach C or B rank.

The exams concluded, and Hiruzen declared the results: Rai passed, Haru failed, and Megumi passed. I and Megumi received our genin headbands, while Haru's shock, anger, and disappointment were palpable.
