146 The New Uzumaki.

"RRRROOOORRRREEEE"

A thunderous roar resounded throughout the village, a thick aura of killing intent sweeping across the area. The entire village felt shivers running down their spines.

A large puff of smoke appeared in the middle of the village, and as the smoke dispersed, the nine tails of the Kyubi swayed in the air. Its enormous form roared in the sky.

Some people died from heart attacks, and others found their feet frozen in place. The village descended into chaos.

.

Anbu ninjas began preparing attacks, while chunins and jonins started evacuating the civilians.

As time passed, many people started to succumb to the roars of pain echoing in the middle of the night.

Minato, however, stood in front of a masked man, his eyes so cold that they could freeze a person's soul.

.

Despite being the fastest man, he couldn't protect his wife. The Kyubi was forcefully ripped out of her seal, leaving her and their child safe for the time being.

He regretted being too slow, feeling as though he couldn't do anything, as if fate had conspired against him.

.

The reason for this was the masked man standing in front of him. Minato was determined to kill this man. The masked man could feel Minato's killing intent; he hadn't experienced anything like this in his entire life, and he knew his sensei was not usually like this.

The masked man was none other than Obito Uchiha.

However, this time, he genuinely felt that he could die if he faced his sensei. Despite his initial confidence, seeing Minato in this state made him uncertain.

.

Before he could react, he felt a kunai pressing against his neck. Blood started to gush out, but before the kunai could pierce his neck completely, he became intangible, and the kunai passed through his neck.

He was surprised that he couldn't keep up with Minato's speed.

Fortunately, he activated his Sharingan at the right time to avoid his sensei's attack. He touched his neck, finding a trickle of blood.

.

Before he could do anything else, he found himself buried in the ground as pain assaulted his back.

Minato had left his mark on his body when the tip of his kunai hit the masked man's neck.

Minato had trained every day nonstop. First, he was surprised that his kunai passed through him. But when he looked at the drop of blood on his kunai, he understood everything.

.

Obito really felt fear in his heart, he hadn't thought this could happen. He was confident in his abilities, he had trained under Madara Uchiha. He was confident that he could control Kyuubi. But his sensei was so strong.

.

He had thought that when Kyuubi started to rampage Minato would go to save the villagers and have the chance to escape. He even tried to kill his child but he failed again.

And to his horror, the seal on his back started to suppress his chakra, and before he could regain his bearings he felt a Rasengan hit his stomach. Blood gushed out from his stomach and the ground dyed red.

But When he was about to use wood style, he felt his mask shattered and the last thing he saw was a white Rasengan.

.

The wind-style Rasengan completely eradicated his head, and the headless body of Obito fell to the ground.

Minato didn't pay any attention to the dead man and disappeared from there and appeared in front of Kushina.

.

"You are here, Minato," Kushina said in a low voice as if she was about to die. Even if not for her being an Uzumaki, she would have died as soon as her seal broke.

"Yes," he replied. He had teleported her to their home.

"Am I going to die?" she asked him. As soon as the seal on her stomach broke, she remembered everything—the time she spent with her son, the life she spent in the genjutsu. She remembered everything.

She closed her eyes as tears started to fall.

She looked at him with her tear-filled eyes. "You know everything, don't you?" she asked.

He avoided her gaze. "Yes."

.

"Why didn't you tell me?" she asked, as her tears started to fall even more. She tried to stand up.

But he quickly appeared in front of her and stopped her from getting up. "I am sorry."

She looked at him for a minute, her tears didn't stop. "It's fine. You don't have to be sorry. I know you tried many times, but it didn't work."

"That brat's genjutsu was really powerful," she said with a slight laugh.

.

But before she could do anything, Minato started to perform hand signs and placed a seal on her stomach, putting both of his hands on her.

"What are you doing?" she hurriedly asked, but soon she started to feel her life force returning to her, and Minato's face started to become pale.

He had created this jutsu based on Chiyo's forbidden technique.

.

When he felt Kushina's life force return to normal, he removed his hands, not caring about himself dying.

"Now you will be fine," he said with a heavy breath.

"Why did you do it?" she asked, her eyes red and voice quivering.

"Silly, it's to protect you and our child," he said with a smile.

But before she could say anything else, he put his hands on her, and with a yellow flash, he was gone.

"Where are we?" Kushina asked, looking at an unfamiliar house.

"This will be your new home," he said.

*Cries*

Both of them tilted their heads and looked at the baby.

"It's not Naruto," Kushina said.

.

Her emotions were in turmoil, and she didn't know what to feel. She was happy that she would spend her life with her child; she was sad that this was the last time she would see her husband. When she looked at the baby, her lips curved in a sweet smile.

Minato held the baby in his arms and looked at her fondly. Her blond hair, blue eyes, and three whisker marks made her cute and adorable.

He looked at his little princess, his heart aching that he wouldn't be able to raise her, love her, and spoil her.

.

Deep in his heart, he knew he had fucked up everything. His son had done everything in his power to ensure that everything went right, but he, as his father, poured water on his efforts. This baby was supposed to be Naruto.

.

"It doesn't matter," he said while caressing her cheeks.

The baby girl giggled and tried to catch his finger. He played with her for the last time.

'Did I kill Naruto? No, this is not possible. He is alive. If he was dead, he wouldn't have come to the past. He is alive somewhere,' he tried to reason with himself.

.

Minato felt guilty in his heart, but it was soon overcome when he heard her laughter.

He had protected his wife, and now his child didn't have to grow alone. When he looked at the little girl, he felt chills just thinking about her being left alone in the village.

He made the right choice; now she had her mother beside her. She didn't have to grow alone.

.

And he couldn't leave Kushina and his girl in the village. He didn't know what would happen after his death. He couldn't take any risks regarding them; that's why he had teleported them far away from Konoha.

This village had no ninjas, Kushina would be safe here, and he had left some safety measures. No one would find her.

"What about my Naruto?" Kushina asked him with hope in her voice. She didn't want to believe that his son didn't exist anymore.

"You will find him someday," he reassured her.

.

"Really?"

"Really," he said while giving the baby to Kushina.

"Take care of yourself and our child, and I am sure you will meet our son," he said.

"I will."

"What shall we name her?" she asked him.

Minato thought for a while, looking at his girl. She looks so kind and gentle. "It will be Yuna, Yuna Uzumaki."

.

"Do you like it?" he asked her.

"I love it," she smiled as she held her.

"I will be going now," he suddenly said.

"Do you really have to go?"

"Nine tails is still rampaging in the village; I have to take care of it," Minato explained.

Kushina looked at him, knowing this was the last time she was going to see him. She weakly nodded to him. "I hope you return."

"I will try my best," he said with a smile and kissed her forehead. Both of them knew this was a lie.

.

And with a flash, he was gone. Kushina lay alone in the bed, her tears soaking her cheeks and rolling down to the bed. She was alone with her baby.

As if feeling the sadness, Yuna started to cry. Kushina quickly held her in her arms and smiled sweetly between tears, "Don't cry, baby. I am here."

She patted her head and back with utmost care as if scared of hurting her.
