chapter 120

Naruto and Hinata opened the door and walked outside the room as they headed toward the dining table.

Their room was on the first floor, so they had to walk downstairs to reach the main hall.

As Naruto took steps, a delicious scent of food wafted to his senses, and they were both hungry from their activities the previous night.

Kushina was setting the table, while Minato was sitting in a chair, waiting for all of them to sit and start eating.

Kushina looked at Naruto and Hinata, she smiled tenderly, "Good morning, Naru-chan." Then she looked at Hinata, '"Good morning, Hina-chan."

"Good morning, Mother," they both said in unison, with Hinata's part in a softer voice but still audible.

After greeting Minato and engaging in some conversation with his mother, Naruto sat in a chair. Hinata sat beside him, and his parents sat on the other side of the table.

"As always, this is delicious," Naruto said as he chewed the food. The food she made was truly delicious.

Kushina smiled lovingly, "Eat as much as you want, you must be hungry after all."

Hearing her words, Hinata's face reddened, and she looked down as she ate her food.

Kushina noticed Hinata's embarrassed expression and teased her, "Oh... look, my daughter is shy."

Hinata responded in a meek voice, "It's not like that." She was bold, but in front of Naruto's mother, she felt the need to behave like a shy girl, which she didn't mind at all.

"Oh, is that so?" Kushina said with a teasing smile.

Hinata nodded in response.

"Don't worry, we didn't hear anything. After all, your room has soundproof sealing barriers that I personally installed,' Kushina reassured her while observing her face.

Hinata's face became red as she remembered what she was thinking last night, 'Oh god, this guilty pleasure.' she couldn't help but avoid her gaze. 

Seeing her gaze kushina's smile became more teasing, "oh… so you think we might hear you," 

Naruto looked at Hinata's expression, he knew what she was thinking, he looked at his Mother, "Mom, you are embarrassing her" 

Kushina's gaze focused on Naruto, "so my little boy has become a man now that he is ordering his mother,"

Naruto looked at her, he couldn't win against her, "no I didn't mean that," 

"So what did you mean," she asked. 

Minato looked at the bickering, in his heart he was happy, he loved it when his whole family sat like this, and ate, bickering about random things, he loved every bit of it. 

He didn't want his family to be separate, and he would do everything in his power to maintain his family. but he knew this was only for a few days, and Naruto had to go, he knew the time was approaching for their departure. 

And then only he and Kushina will remain in the house, and it will become quiet without them. 

That's why he was savoring every moment of their chatter, their teasing and laughter. 

When he saw that Naruto was again verbally cornered by his mother, "Kushina, you are embarrassing the kids, let's eat quietly," he said politely not wanting to feel her wrath. 

Kushina glanced at him and pouted, "I was just teasing my son," 

Naruto looked at her pouty face, "you look cute Mom," he commented with a smile. 

Kushina smiled mildly and looked at him tenderly, "you think I am cute," 

Naruto nodded to her, "you are the best, Mom" 

Kushina's heart fluttered at this. her son looked so cute when he said, "You are praising me too much" 

She loved it when her son praised her, but she had to maintain the facade of a tough mother. However, she was not someone who could hide her emotions; it was clearly written on her face that she cherished his praise.

"But I told you the truth, you're the best mom," Naruto said as he ate his food.

"Hmmm," she hummed in delight.

Soon, they finished their meal. Kushina and Minato quickly washed the dishes and completed their household chores.

They were dressed in their mission attire, and Naruto looked at them, asking, "Are you going on a mission?"

"Yes, the Hokage will assign us a mission, so we need to go to the Hokage's office. But don't worry, I'll be back by night," Kushina reassured him.

They had received a message from an Anbu ninja in the morning that the Hokage wanted to see them, and they would receive different missions.

Her mission was to investigate the remaining swordsmen of the Mist Village, as some of them had been found dead at the outskirts of Konoha. Minato, on the other hand, had to go to the ongoing war to provide support.

Naruto nodded and said, "It's fine."

Kushina looked at her son and could sense a slight sadness in his demeanor. "Don't be sad, Naru-chan. I've packed a lunchbox for you. You can go outside like yesterday, but please don't cause trouble. Spend time with Hinata, and the day will pass quickly until I'm back home," she said, blurting out everything.

Naruto smiled at his mom and said, "Don't worry about me. Be safe on your mission."

Kushina nodded and hugged him tightly. "See you soon, son."

Naruto patted her back and replied, "Hmmm."

Kushina and Minato stood outside the house. Naruto looked at them, nodded, and they both disappeared.
