Naruto Uzumaki, also known as Darkborne, the new Overlord of the Gamers went back in time to the moment before he became a gamer so he can partake a new quest to help a new Gamer fulfil her destiny and entwine into his. The person in question is Hinata Hyuuga, heir to the prestigious Hyuuga Clan and destined one of the Overlord. Naruto meet Hinata in the present during his quest in Purgatory, back then she goes by the name of Moonlight Butterfly.

And it was Naruto's quest to help Hinata become that Gamer by training her newly awaken powers and prepare her for the Gamer Trials. But during his time in the past, Naruto was visited by a Gamer from the future: Shirou Emiya, who came to the past became his nemesis Julien Ainzworth, who teamed up with the mysterious Saigo no Ha, came to kill Naruto and Hinata so to prevent an incoming war.

Not only did Shirou help Naruto stop Julien and Saigo, he also offered to aid Naruto on his quest and even deal with some unfinished business involving the Gamer Akenomyosei, who discovered to be the Overlord's uncle Ryo Namikaze. But Shirou didn't stop there, he even aided the Overlord to stop the Censored Justice's Kumo Branch from kidnapping Hinata and free her from the clutch of CFW Trick.

Many speed bumps but the path on this quest eventually came to an end when Hinata became Moonlight Butterfly, although the Overlord wished the quest could last a bit longer…for he enjoyed the company of his destined one.

Victory was all but bittersweet for the Overlords, for both part ways after they argued about Darkborne's reluctance and hesitation. The Forger leaves with some regrets of his argument with his future father while Darkborne would had to bear of the fact that Moonlight Butterfly while have to wait for him when he returns to the present, as it may take mere take seconds for him, months will pass for her.

Little does the Overlord know, by finishing the quest he has altered his own timeline and some…differences will await him. So instead of returning directly to the present, he'll heading back…a bit early. Given a few days at best.

Dark Tower (Few days before the Present)

After traversing through the wormhole, the Overlord Darkborne returns once again his Dark Tower. But instead of a welcoming from his allies and servants, the tower's throne is barren and dark, dark as in lighting from sconces and candelabras are glowing with small flickering flames on the candles. Not only is it empty and dark, it is also quiet, as of it was abandoned and this got Naruto concerned…no, worried.

"Where is everyone?" said Naruto first to himself before he asks Juubi a question. "Juu-chan, can you sense everyone in the tower?"

"Not inside…but I sense a large number of charka signatures outside…split in 2 groups as if a battle."

"A battle, you don't think the Censored Justice as found the tower?"

"I hope not, you should check outside"

Naruto nods at his tenant and heads for the tower balcony and look ahead, but what he sees isn't the view of Konoha below, instead he sees high dark rocky walls and very little sunlight, most of the lightning is produced by many tall iron lampposts of gothic Victorian design while positioned between partially crafted dark stone brick paths. And sandwiching these roads are rows of houses, but unlike the modernised and oriental style home of Konoha, these houses are dark and gothic to match the lampposts and roads. Also, when the roads a split in either in two or three to, you could see sinister flora behind iron fences and surround decorative statures of dark angel-like figures with cybernetic wings and glowing veins on their bodies, each in certain colours.

Naruto was in shock at this, he was expecting to look over at the sight of Konoha which he could scheme sinister plots to either dominate or destroy it, but instead he finds himself with the sight of a different village, a dark one which for some reason makes him feel at home.

Naruto casts his Observe upon the sight before him, next a message box appears infront of him with a name, a name which Naruto believes to be the names of this mysterious dark village.

New Yharnam

Description: Constructed by the Remants of Ombré and modelled to resemble their old domain from their now dead world. The Remnants created this village as a tribre to their new Lord and Master Darkborne.

"Wow, so they managed to build you a kingdom to rule in" said Juubi

"And within the split Hokage Mountain" said Naruto as he remembered back in the past, a model of Konoha inside the Ombré Dungeon. Iruka did mention about a project he and his guild are planning, and New Yharnem is that project. "They built and governed in my absence…or rather before knowing of its existence."

"Time travel is complicated"

"Well let's pray to Yami that we'll never have to do that again" said Naruto when suddenly an explosion was heard and smoke rises from the distance of the village. "What the hell?"

QUEST ALERT: Smoke in New Yharnam

Investigate the smoke

"A quest already and I just got back" said Naruto as he turns for the tower portal.

As he sets foot on the portal, he vanishes in a flash of light via teleportation, suddenly the sound of slow footsteps echoes through the dark doorways and Gnarl starts to emerge from the dark. He smiles wickedly while his wide glowing orange eyes widen more with excitement.

"Finally, the master returns" said Gnarl while rubbing his hands with enjoyment. "I was starting to get rather boring in here.

New Yharnam: Plaza

The Portal only took him by the foot of the tower, outside the gates of the courtyard and now facing the village plaza. Normally the village would be thriving with people, especially when Naruto now as a census of New Yharnam in his HUD, but the plaza, along with the connecting streets is empty, there are however lights beaming out through the windows of the terraced houses, but the doors are all boarded up and chains from the outside.

This got Naruto curious, wondering why his new village and domain would be derelict. He heads for the nearest home and starts knocking on the door. Suddenly a silhouettes reveals itself from behind the window, features obscured from the translutent curtains so only the shadows are seen.

"Ho, don't think I'll be opening the door while the Hunt is still on"

"Hunt?" said Naruto

"New around here? Bad time to visit New Yharnem at this time, especially when you want to stay alive while Gamers partaking the hunt are tearing each other apart. No mercy for noobs and players, you best stay home until the hunt is over."

"You still haven't answered my question, what is the Hunt?" said Naruto

Suddenly Naruto felt murderous intent behind him and turns to see a group of unknown figures in Victorian style coats and hats, each wielding already bloodstained weapons and blunt tools. Their faces are concealed by either scarves, high collars, or masks. But their eyes are wild and hungry for murder and chaos.

"Oh ho, this one could be fun to maim"

Naruto used Observe on these strangers while leering back at them while being calm.

Dark Gamers

Description: Proud residents of New Yharnam and worshippers of the Hearts of Yami, when the news of a haven for Gamers was spread, these Dark Gamers came from all across the Shinobi Nations and other realms to settle here. Although they are civil to their fellow man, they are merciless to enemies and rivals. So do not hesitate to kill them, or they will kill you.

"So, you must be the people of new Yharnam" said Naruto "Do you know who I am?"

"Don't know, don't care" said one of the Dark Gamers. "All that matter is the hunt"

"Very well" said Naruto as he draws out his Saw Cleaver as there is no other way but to fight, things got rather interesting for him. And this "Hunt" is very curious indeed. "Then let us hunt"

"Get him!" exclaimed the Dark Gamers as they charge at Naruto, but Naruto dodged and rolled beneath their attacks and manpower behind them. "W-what?"

"Fool" said Naruto as he swiftly slashed their backs deep that blood flows out from the gash along with breaking their spines.

"Gah, I can't move" said one of the Dark Gamers, all are paralysed and dying painfully. "Damn it, I thought I'd make it through the night and win that reward."

"So…this Hunt is a Quest"

"It's not just a guest, GAH!" said the Dark Gamer as he starts to cough out blood. "It's an event for us to partake if we so choose."

"And those in the houses?" said Naruto

"Aren't in the hunt, it's their choice to miss out, then again the Hunt isn't their kind of thing."

"Its mostly for specific types"

"Thank you" said Naruto as he finished off the dying Gamers by beheading them with his Saw Cleaver. "And good luck for next time."

EVENT QUEST ALERT: Night of the Hunt

Rules:

Survive the Hunt until the dawn (when the sunlight reaches the peak of the tower)

In the Hunt, death results in immediate defeat and will remain dead until the event is over.

No breaking and entering homes, shops, or any of the buildings.

Shops and Clinics are closed during the Hunt, Power-ups and Health is available on the streets but limited. Hunting is necessary for item stock.

Only hunt participants and enemies, hunting Slig Security is Prohibited.

Slig Security is partaking in Hunt and authorized to use firearms, stealth is required.

Any Gamers with Transformation Skill will be granted beastform (only temporary in the Hunt.)

Summons are disabled in this quest, that includes minions for Overlord classes.

(Only exception is by using a summoning bell to get random assistance from Gamers, so keep an open eye for the bells are rare)

"Damn, I knew I should've levelled up before returning" said Naruto "Fighting Saigo, Trick and Hinata gave me a generous offer, not to mention Exp from completing the last quest."

Suddenly the sound of mechanical whirling is heard from one of the streets, along with glowing red hues that light up on the dark brick walls of the houses and buildings. Naruto frowned at this and takes his leave, for in this game everyone's an enemy. Especially his allies and minions.

The whirling sound gets louder and the red hue thickens and brighter until familiar shadows are shown. A small squad of Sligs from Slig Security arrives at the plaza, their glowing infrared goggles scans the area and noticed the dying Gamers lying on the floor.

Naruto watches in the shadows as the Sligs approach the dying stands there.

"This is Slig Squad 5-4, found some incapacitated gamers at Yharnem Plaza, awaiting orders."

You already know the orders, terminate. This is an event, after all.

"Aye" said the sligs before shooting the dying gamers dead and watch them vanish into blood-red particles. "Scanning area"

Naruto remains calm about this, in this quest its hunt or be hunted, but the conditions is that he must avoid the Sligs as possible or risk losing, and there is no way he si going to lose. So trusting his stealth for this, he quietly moves into the shadows and avoid the infrared scanning from their googles so he can leave the plaza and head for where the smoke is.

"Yami-sama wouldn't want things to be too easy for her champion, does she?"

Fair point thought Naruto as he ached the end of plaza and walk straight through the darkened streets.

Streets

The streets act like an urban labyrinth, many cuts and turns between the row of terraced houses which are all boarded up for the residences' safety. The smell of blood wafts in the air, and many signs of bloodstains on the walls and floor are seen. Gamers who die in this quest don't stay dead, which is reassuring but death is failure and failure must be punished with whatever Yami has in stall for them.

Naruto has never once failed a quest, sure he lost an occasional fight but never a quest, and there will not be a time where he'll lose a quest. He stays cautious while navigating the streets of New Yharnem, keeping an eye for rival Gamers or patrolling Sligs which are known for their whirling from their mechanical legs and the red glow from their goggles.

But its not just bloodthirsty gamers and Sligs that Naruto should worry while walking the streets of New Yharnem, for like many towns and cities it is also housed with its own urban creatures. And I'm not just talking about Stray Cats, Dogs in the alleyways, Pigeons and starlings roosted in parks, or Roaches and Rats lucking in the sewer.

Deep in the alley, lurking the pitch black and fighting over scraps of meat on bones. Flightless birds the size of dogs are feasting an unfortunate Gamer who got ambushed by these creatures and became nothing but a meal with these feral avian beasts.

Carrion Crows

Description: This subspecies of Crows are found only in Yharnam, though flight-less due to their size making it impossible but are evolved to be urban predators that ironically hunt strays, Rats and humans who wander into their nests in the dark alleyways. They were culled weekly to keep the population in check, for they breed furiously.

Naruto grimaced in disgust at the flock of abominations in his domain, but wherever evil stands, another form of evil breeds within. Luckily, the Carrion Crows is distracted by their own kill to even notice, but that also left Naruto drop his guard while observing the beasts as an ambush is about to happen from above the rooftops.

The pursuer leap from the roofs with their weapons drawn out, but Naruto is no longer distracted when he felt killer intent at him and rolled away before any killing blows were made. Naruto recovered to confront his assassins, darkness from the streets concealed any features from this the unknown Gamer partaking this hunt attempting to make prey out of him.

Information Locked: required victory of PvP match

Not only is are the features of this Unknown Gamer is hidden, but the identity of the Gamer is hidden also. But there is some clues of his appearance though, the spiky shaped hair, glowing orange cartoon-style eyes and the weapon of choice appears to be a short handled Warhammer.

Unlike the Dark Gamers which were only identified as an enemy, this one has the majority and own name which the Overlord may be interested to known, once he earned the right through victory.

Naruto pulls out his Saw Cleaver and swings it at his foe. He missed them as the Gamers jumped away, and instead of slicing through flesh, it swings at thin air.

"Missed" said the Unknown Gamer

CLANG!

Missing Gamer, Naruto struck the wall of the streets instead, causing both Naruto and Gamer to freeze and slowly turn to the Carrions in the alleyway.

Shit thought Naruto and the Unknown Gamer.

The noise alerted the Carrions and draw their attentions to Naruto and the other Gamers, one of them reared its head high and gave out a loud blood chilling crow.

CAW CAW!

The crowing echoes through the streets and heard by other flocks of Carrion from other alleyways who are either scavenging for scraps in the trash or hunting for strays who were unfortunate to wander in their territories.

It didn't take long for the other Carrions to arrive and surround the area, trapping Naruto and the Gamers. Their dark eyes leers at what they appear to potential food, smacking their bloody beaks in hunger as they slowly approach them with upmost eager.

"Damn it" said Naruto under his breath as it was im that alerted the Carrions and forced it to call for back-up. But it did make him learn something about the Carrion, they are pack hunters and require certain numbers to take down large prey like humans with success.

1 Insight gained

"Huh, you learn something new everyday" said Naruto while he prepares to fight against the Carrion ambush.

"Listen," Said one of the Gamers getting the Overlord's attention. "perhaps we'll call this a truce until we are safe from harm of the Carrions.".

"Agreed, so let us get out of this predicament and fight another time." Said Naruto

"Fair enough, but don't go crying if we ever encounter again" said the second gamer. "For this time, I won't miss."

"Oh, don't worry, I'll be happier to stain my weapons with your entrails should we cross paths again." said Naruto until he flicked his Saw Cleaver into its Saw form, so that he wouldn't hit the walls by mistake.

"Ha, ha, I like your enthusiasm" said the Gamer while pulling out a scroll rolled it towards the Carrion flock. "On my mark, we run like hell and take separate streets."

"Hai" said Naruto as he gets ready to run, given the situation, he and the Gamer are Dangerously outnumbered by the Carrion and chance of surviving the fight is low, and if by miracle they slain the birds they'd be weakened afterwards and took advantage of either more Gamers or the Slig Security. "May I know the name of the Gamer who failed to kill me?"

"I'll tell you later, in our second encounter, Lord Darkborne" said the Gamer

"So, you know who I am" said Naruto

"…only your Gamer name, heard it from a…person I know who told me tales of your exploits against the Censored Justice." Said the Gamer "And I thought this would be an exciting moment to fight and perhaps defeat the Overlord."

"Sounds a bit arrogant, but I appreciate the honour" said Naruto

The unknown Gamer nods at Naruto and returns all attention to the scroll beneath the Carrions' feet while one curious Carrion starts pecking on it.

"I hope those goggles are thick 'cause things are about to get real bight in here." Said the Unknown Gamer as he starts to perform a handsign and scroll opens up. Bright white light engulfs the streets and starts blinding the Carrion while squawking in panic and pain. "Ok, now run or everyone notices"

"Hai" said Naruto as he and the Unknown Gamer runs away from the startled Carrion before the flash vanishes. They can straight to the end of the streets, the flash has immediately alerted other Gamers and the Slig Security to the area. And like moths to the flame, the other Gamers and Sligs crashed into another this resulted in a bloodbath, from either each other or the Carrions. "Looks like we're far away."

"Good, this is where we part ways" said the Unknown Gamer as he takes a turn while Naruto goes straight forward, where the rising smoke is located. "May we meet again in combat, Darkborne."

"Hai" said Naruto as continues to go straight, hashe got out one mess, he crosses with another when he spotted more Dark Gamers who are in his path. "Oh great, more trouble."

"Get him!" said the dark gamers as they charge at Naruto for the kill.

"Amateurs" said Naruto as he perform a hand sign. "Kage Bushin no Jutsu"

Naruto created a few clones to aid him, he commanded to clones to charge furtherer than him while he slinks into the shadows of the streets with his Veils skill. The Clones clash with the Dark Gamers and started a battle in the streets again. Naruto emerges from the shadows and snuck behind the Dark Gamers and stab their backs with his Dagger Sting and a Kunai in both hands.

The Dark Gamers are slain, but once again more trouble comes for the Overlord as the red glow of the Sligs' goggles are in sight.

"Damn it" said Naruto as the Sligs are getting closer. He turns to the clones who all await his orders. "Distract them, drive them off course."

"Hai" said the Clones as they watch Naruto leave the streets. They turn to see the advancing patrol of Slig Security. "Alright guys, you all know the rules. Don't assault them, just get their attention and make them chase us."

"Got it"

The Shadow Clones then rummage through the pockets of the dead Dark Gamers and took out smoke bombs.

"Let out some smoke!"

They toss the bombs on the road and covered the area in thick smoke to obscure the Sligs' vision. This caused the Sligs to react and they started to shoot their guns.

"OK, now!

The Clones run through the smoke while dodging the bullets, they pushed the Sligs out of the way while running to the other side of the streets, provoking the sligs to give chase.

"Freeze!"

Central Yharnem

Naruto reached the end of the street with ease, there he looked back to see that the sligs are no longer in pursuit thanks to his Shadow Clones, now memory of the clones yet means that they're still active and keeping those green cyborgs busy. He turns away and scan the area for any potential threats.

"Hmm, looks like the coast is clear" said Naruto ehrn suddenly the sound of battle echoes across the area. He follows the notice until he reached a ledge surrounded by iron fences and lampposts, overseeing another section of the city that's 15 metres below and only accessible by stairs. He leans onto the railing of the fence and looks down at the Central Yharnem's lower section to see what appears to be a lower street now turned into a brutal battlefield, out of all the Dark Gamers there are also Sligs who are there to purge the unfortunate that got caught. "I spoke too soon."

He looks away from the battle and noticed that the smoke is closer, right by what appears to be a cathedral that's accessible by a giant bridge above the lower section.

"Interesting" said Naruto as he looks around to see any other way rather than crossing through the fighting below. It's not that he doesn't want to go in and enjoy the fun, but its that he gained so many Exp from his past quest that he forgot to use it for levelling. Plus the rewards are very enticing and playing smart and careful is the best strategy.

BONG!

The sound of bells echoing from the distance is heard in Central New Yharnem, following with an announcement.

To all participants, you have 3 hours left until the event ends

"Nice for them to tell us" said Naruto "Once this is over, I'm going to get Iruka to explain"

"He'd better have a good reason."

"He always does," said Naruto as he turns away and continues walking.

But as Naruto was about to move on, but as he continues on his dangerous path, he is unaware that high up on the rooftops he is being watched. The Unknown Gamer from before watches at a safe distance. No attempts to strike down the Overlord this time, he can only observe him as he heads for the destination marked with smoke.

"Going to church, I see" said the Unknown Overlord as he look yonder at the smoke, at this height he can see that the smoke looms from the yard of the large gothic cathedral, where a burning fire is sighted with a man in dark armour is standing. "So that's it, he knows that he's back and calls to him."

The Unknown Gamer turns away and suddenly noticed that he is surrounded by a small group of Dark Gamers.

"Now guys, you best think this through" said the Unknown Gamer

"Oh I don't think so, especially when we know who you are"

"And WHAT you are"

"is that so?" said the Unknown "and what, pray tell, would hunting me would benefit you all?"

"Well that gear you're wearing, only a few are lucky to obtain that rare gear."

"And the Hunt is the best opportunity."

"Because we keep what you kill"

"Yes, yes, I am aware of the rules of this event." Said the Unknown Gamer "But you do forget that this gear of mine works exclusive for me. Built for me"

"We'll see about that!" The Dark Gamers then charge at the Unknown Gamer

The Unknown Gamer sighs at this and charges at the Dark Gamers, his movement is swift and agile while he swings his Warhammer at them, causing word effects reading "HIT" and "WHAM!" to spontaneously appear. Sparks fly out from the Dark Gamers before collapsing on the floor.

"Now to finish this" said Unknown Gamer as he taps the side of his hammer and a blade comes out from the top. With one swing, he lets out a wave of energy an obliterated his foes until they are nothing but fading pixels. "It'll take more than an ambush to defeat me."

The Unknown Gamer then turns away to watch the Overlord while the blade vanishes from his War Hammer.

"I'll clear this quest with no continues"

Somewhere in Central Yharnem

A Dark Gamer is panting heavily while holding his bleeding arm, he managed to escape a fight when his HP is dangerously low. He thanked Yami that the adrenaline gave him the boost to escape and hide from those who nearly killed him.

"Damn it, Bastard's ruthless" said a Dark Gamer while look down at his bleeding arm. "When I decided to do this event, I never expected it to be this HARD. Sick bastard.

"Guh!"

"Huh?"

The Dark Gamer turns and noticed someone else is in the area, a troubled Gamer who is in pain and probably escaped from same fate. The wounded Dark Gamer is cautious of this might be a trick, so he slowly approaches the other Gamer to check on him, while keeping his hand on his weapon's hilt at all time.

"H-Hey, are you alright?" said the wounded Gamer to the other.

"H-Hungry"

"Hungry? Sorry pal but I don't have have any food on me"

The other gamer looked up at the wounded one and then starts to eye on the wounded arm.

"Yes, you do" said the Gamer before he lunges at the Dark Gamer and starts to bite hs wounded arm.

"GAh, GET OFF ME!" exclaimed the Dark Gamer as he tries to get the other Gamer off his arm, but the other Gamer has his teeth deep into his bleeding flesh and only managed to tear a small chunk off the arm before he was kicked off. "Agh, you took a bite off me, you fuck!"

The other Gamer after he slurped the chunk of meat in his mouth and swallowed it.

"Still Hungry" the other Gamer drops onto his knees and reaches for his belt. "I must have MORE!"

Suddenly the Gamer spontaneously combusts into green flames and screams loudly, not out of main but of bestial rage. His silhouette within the fire morphs and a pair of large insect eyes appears to leer at the Dark Gamer. The flames die out, but the darkness of the streets conceals the form of the Gamer, leaving only those red eyes to look at the now terrified Dark Gamer.

"Oh Yami and Noire-sama!"

"RAH!"

"AGH!"

No mercy for all, who partakes in the night of the Hunt.

EQUIPMENT

Weapon: Sting

Description: An ancient Elven Short sword made of an alloy that glows blue when evil creatures are close, like an early warning before an attack is made by the enemy. This weapon has been passed down from many generations of Halfling Heroes, down from a Halfling Thief who travelled with a Dwarf Prince, to a Halfling hero who ventured through various dangers to destroy an object of pure evil. Any Halfling who possess this legendary sword is forever branded as a legend and a hero to his/her people.

• Bonus Perk: Glowing blade (Long-range enemy presence)

Uchiha Katana

A Katana used by the Uchiha clansmen, forged and treated to be stronger than any blade, such like the Uchiha. Ha, such arrogance, but this weapon is indeed strong and will eventually drink in the blood of Uchihas.

• Bonus Perk: Sharp (Can cause Bleed)

Demon's Scar

Description: A blade made of entirely out of flames. This chaotic thing, the last flame kindled by a demon prince, is shaped like the claw marks of a demon. It is both a fiery bladed weapon, and pyromaniac flame.

Added Skill: Spin Slash – Spin to stoke a fierce chaos flame and use momentum to transition into a spinning strong attack, creating an evanescent lava chamber.

Saw Cleaver

Description: One of the trick weapons of the workshop, commonly used in the hunting business. This saw, effective at drawing the blood of beasts, transforms into a long cleaver that makes use of centrifugal force. The saw, with its set of blood-letting teeth, has become a symbol of the hunt, and only grows in effectiveness the more grotesquely transformed the beast.

• Note: Only used in Darkborne Form
