Naruto Online: The Strongest Shinobi

Michael, living in a dystopian world devastated by nuclear warfare, discovers a new VRMMORPG game called 'Elemental Nations.' Excited by the opportunity to escape his harsh reality, he purchases the Tier 1 headset and prepares to embark on an adventure. In his cramped living space, surrounded by the remnants of his previous life, Michael contemplates the hardships he and his family endure. The scarcity of resources and the confined conditions serve as constant reminders of the post-apocalyptic world they inhabit. As Michael watches the game's trailer, he recognizes familiar elements from the anime series Naruto. His passion for the show in his previous world fuels his excitement to explore this virtual rendition of the Naruto universe. However, in this new world, anime is not as popular, with people favoring slice-of-life stories over war-torn narratives. Equipped with the VR gear, Michael eagerly enters the game, expecting to unleash his knowledge of the Naruto world to become a powerful shinobi. The game's mechanics limit the number of players who can join as shinobi from the five great villages, adding a sense of exclusivity and competition to the experience. With the promise of potentially earning money through the game, Michael sees an opportunity to contribute to his family's welfare. Unemployment and limited opportunities in the real world have left him longing for a chance to make a difference. As the game servers go online, Michael finds himself transported to a new location, ready to embark on an extraordinary journey within the virtual world of Elemental Nations. Little does he know that this adventure will hold secrets, challenges, and the potential for him to become the hero he aspires to be.

Chapter 52: Defeating a genius

Chapter 52: Defeating a genius

(Still Tenten POV)

Guy sensei, Lee and I observed as the 2 people on the training ground got into theri fighting stances.

Shikomu and Neji faced each other, with a palpable silence.

Neji took the initiative, launching forward with a series of swift, precise strikes characteristic of the Gentle Fist.

Each movement was fluid, aimed at disrupting Shikomu's chakra flow by striking his vitals. Something I had seen far too often during the war.

Shikomu was visibly caught off guard and barely dodged and parried Neji. However what seemed to be experience quickly allowed him to adapt.

But to me, it all seemed futile, as Neji's gentle fist was mastered to a point he was able to use it effortlessly and adaptable.

And right as Neji got too close, his shadow extended, trying to grab Neji, to which Neji jumped far back, and decided to activate his Byakugan.

"Taking me seriously already? Impressed with what you see?" Shikomu asked with arrogance clearly on his face.

"To be honest I am disappointed." Neji told him.

"Well I guess I should not disappoint." Shikomu said, as an aura of Chakra burst around him, making his veins also bulge out.

The technique familiar to me seemed similar to Guy sensei's and Lee's, however his aura was a dark gray color.

"He has opened the 4th Gate already?" Lee asked in shock.

"Not only that, the Jutsu seems to have gone through a change due to the special nature of his chakra." Guy sensei commented.

"My turn." Shikomu announced, as he charged towards Neji with blinding speeds.

Shikomu countered with a series of powerful, straightforward attacks, utilizing his brute strength and speed. Neji deftly evaded, his Byakugan activated, tracking every movement with pinpoint accuracy.

He continued to exploit openings, striking at Shikomu vital points with an almost surgical precision.

Well, all to no avail, since Shikomu was moving at blinding speeds.

What the hell…if Neji losing?

Neji then charged chakra into his hand, and a gust of wind shot towards Shikomu, who simply jumped away at ridiculous speeds.

And slowly but surely, Shikou's attack slowly began to morph.

The way he moved, stood, his footwork.

Everything began to morph into something that was horrifying for me.

He was copying the way Neji moved.

While he obviously needed the byakugan to use the Jutsu properly, he still did copy Neji's movements as much as a normal person would be able to.

And this continued for about 15 minutes, with both sides getting tired.

The battle reached a fever pitch as Shikomu's newfound knowledge of the Gentle Fist began to pay off.

I watched as his strikes grew more precise, his movements more controlled. He blended his own raw power with the finesse of the Gentle Fist, creating a hybrid fighting style that took Neji by surprise.

With a final, decisive strike, Shikomu managed to disrupt Neji's chakra flow, momentarily halting his movements.

"THAT SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE?" I couldn't help but shout out loud.

But when I turned to guy sensei and Lee, they had mad grins on their faces.

(MC Pov)

Eventually, I realized there was no point in me trying to use the Gentle Fist.

I did drag on this fight to gain mastery over Shadow Dance.

Shadow Dance becomes more proficient the more I used it to copy other peoples techniques, and that was something I had to do now.

"I think I have had enough fun." I told Neji, to which the boy who was panting like crazy seemed shocked.

And at the next moment I appeared right behind him, as I used Shadow Step, and right after emerging I controlled his shadow to become a kunai and held it to his neck.

"I win."

Neji nodded with reluctance, and then turned towards me.

"Who taught you the ways of our clan?"

"Would you believe it if I told you I was just a fast learner?"

"No."

"Well that's all you're going to get."

(Time Skip: 1 week in game time)

A week passed by fairly quickly.

I spar often with Yuki, and once even with Naruto and mastered their taijutsu for my Shadow dance.

Today was also the day I would be investing in Ayumi, and that was what I had just done.

Yuki was here with me too, since we 3 technically would be the founders of the Guild I plan to make.

"Now it is up to you to pick the difficulty of the rank." I told Ayumi after she added her EXP.

I did say I would not accept anything an A-rank for her Personal Mission.

"I think I will follow Yuki's idea. As he said, A-rank quests are already hard enough."

I nodded my head, respecting her decision.

And as she accepted her quest, she read out to me and Yuki what it said.

"I need to heal 1,000 people with Iryoninjutsu to finish this quest." She told us.

"That doesn't seem so bad, considering we are at war and people have been getting injured constantly."

"How about you, Yuki? Any progress on your side of the mission?" I asked him.

"I have been going on online platforms in the real world like I said I would, trying to find a set of Sharingans I could just buy from players." Yuki told me.

For the past few days, Yuki decided it would be easier to buy the eyes off of a player rather than search for one inside of the village.

The player could just end their character if they sold all the EXP Yuki would offer them.

"Well most of them are either in the Root, some torture chamber, or in a guy named Orochimaru's lab. I was able to find one willing participant but he is asking for 1000 EXP for it and I didn't know if it was worth it."

"It is worth it, trust me."

"I know…but for that I will have to ask my dad for more money. I would pay myself but that would take up my allowance for a month…that and if I bought so much EXP at once the markets might fluctuate like crazy."

"Why don't you just ask your dad, if he doesn't like it then don't do it?" I questioned him.

If my suspicion was correct, Yuki's father who bought him the highest set of Pod for the full dive should know about the game.

"And Ayumi, it is time you learnt some more Jutsu so you can speed up your mission too."

Inside of a chamber in the Hidden Leaf, Naido was sitting right in front of Yugito, the current 2 tails Jinchuriki.

"How long until you kill me?" she asked in a hoarse voice.

Currently both her hands were tied up and her entire body was filled with blood, to the point even her blond hair was dyed red.

"You die when I let you die." Naido said calmly, as he picked up another sword and calmly tore through her stomach.

"AHHHHHHHH!" She screamed in pain, yet none of the interrogators in the room had a reaction.

"Just kill me." She said after Naido stopped. "I told you everything I know."

"And I told you this isn't about information. This is about payback."
