94 Chapter 94:

Haku and Seno had retreated back to their base as they carried the flag. Somehow they had managed to push back Hattori and capture the flag from him, however, Haku was concerned that he had given up so easily.

"Alright that makes one, what should we do next?" Seno asked as she planted the flag into the ground next to their other one.

Tomo also seemed happy that they had returned with a flag, but didn't say much at all.

"We should probably get ready to defend, as I'm sure there will be another squad that comes from us soon," Haku said.

Seno nodded before her eyes opened wide.

"I sense a squad coming towards us from the east." She said as she turned her head to look in the direction.

Haku also looked that way, thinking he just had to say it.

"Alright, prepare for a fight." He then said as the three of them got ready for battle.

Meanwhile, Kimimaro and the others had managed to formulate some sort of plan, even with Iseto butting in every two seconds.

Kimimaro had decided that he and Iseto would go off to look for a flag, while Yuri would stay and defend their own flag.

It was a tough decision to make, if you only sent one to attack and kept two to defend your attacking force was left weak and might not be able to capture a flag.

However, on the flip side, the same could be said for your defence, if everyone went to attack you would have no one to defend your flag at all.

Keeping at least one person back made sense and Yuri was happy to defend their flag, seeming much more controlled than Iseto.

"You had better not slow me down," Iseto said as he and Kimimaro jumped through the trees before coming to a large clearing that overlooked a grass meadow, getting a slightly annoyed look from Kimimaro.

"It would seem the next base is not too far from our own at all," Kimimaro said as he and Iseto could see only one person guarding the flag from their vantage point.

"Alright this should be a piece of cake," Iseto said as hs stood to his full height getting ready to make a move.

"Wait," Kimimaro said as he got a good look at who it was.

It was Chika Hōzuki sitting there as she sipped on her water bottle.

"Not good," Kimimaro said, knowing his attacks would be useless against her kekkei Genkai.

"What are you talking about it's one girl, we can take her," Iseto said not knowing what the problem was.

"Unless you can use lightning style, we should move on and find somewhere else," Kimimaro said, knowing it would be more trouble than it was worth.

"No way," Iseto said flashing a mocking look at Kimimaro.

"I'm an Uchiha and we don't back down from anyone." He said as he jumped down from the ledge onto the grass and started running towards the enemy base like a one-man army.

Kimimaro stood still from atop the cliff as he watched, knowing this was a mistake. Still, as squad leader, he couldn't just leave him, even if he was insubordinate.

Chika sat calmly as she sipped on her water bottle, doing her best to stay hydrated as the sun was quite hot this day.

She could already sense Iseto on his approach towards her, and she knew she would have to fight even if she didn't want to.

Iseto didn't waste any time as he jumped right in with a fireball jutsu aimed right at her.

Chika sighed as she slapped her hand onto the ground, letting a wall of water suddenly wash up from underneath to block the fire style, creating a burst of steam as the hot and cold mixed.

Iseto was surprised but continued to press the attack as he threw a handful of shuriken to distract her.

However, Chika simply let the shuriken pass right through her as she took another sip of her water bottle, not seeming impressed.

"Here I was minding my own business and you just attack me like that!" Chika shouted as she tossed her water bottle to the ground.

Iseto was surprised when his shuriken passed through her body, almost not believing his eyes.

"Genjutsu?" He said as he skidded to a stop, pulling more shuriken from his hip to test it.

"No... It's something else." He said as he threw the projectiles again, watching as they ripped through the air towards her.

Chika was getting annoyed now and pulled out a kunai from her hip, blocking three of the four shurikens as she charged right toward him to counter-attack.

"It's not a genjutsu, the shuriken didn't affect her," Iseto said as he braced himself for her attack.

Chika slashed down with a feint, turning on her toes as she jumped back and threw a kick at his stomach.

Iseto saw the feint and leaned back, getting ready to grab her kick in a hook so he could sweep her leg. However, as he grabbed her ankle to twist her leg it burst into water and his hand passed right through it.

"What in the!" He shouted as Chika took advantage of this and was about to land a critical blow against him with her kunai.

"Shit!" Iseto said as he realised he was about to get cut open, not being able to move quickly enough to defend the attack.

"Look out!" Kimimaro shouted as he suddenly slammed into Iseto with his boot, knocking him flying across the ground and out of the way of the attack. Something he didn't mind doing at all.

Chika clenched her sharp teeth as her Kunai clashed with Kimimaros arm that he had used to defend himself.

"You!" Chika spat before she pulled away and jumped back a little to clear some space.

Kimimaro did the same keeping a close eye on her before he looked over to Iseto.

"What the hell man! I so had that." He said raising his fist at Kimimaro.

"No, you didn't." Kimimaro thought as he sighed, looking back at Chika.

"Take this!" Chika shouted as she jumped at him like an animal, attacking from all angles as she tried to take him out with taijutsu first.

Kimimaro was engaged in a battle with Chika as she had attacked him, not liking that he had butted in at all.

"I'm not going to take it easy on you Kimimaro! You may have beaten Kujira, but you won't be able to defeat me the same way!" She shouted, slashing and throwing advanced taijutsu at him.

Kimimaro was much better at taijutsu than Chika was and he was able to block and defend every attack she threw at him. The only problem was his counter-attack methods. No matter what he did, he couldn't get through her body's ability to turn into water and negate physical attacks.

No matter how many times he slashed or allowed his bones to be expelled and stab her, it did nothing at all, only splashing water onto the ground.

"Your attacks are useless against me!" Chika said as she started forming hand signs, knowing her own taijutsu was no match for his, not getting her anywhere at this rate.

"Water style, water shock wave!" She shouted as she suddenly allowed a large burst of water to expel from her mouth.

Kimimaro was unable to do anything against the jutsu and was hit, getting pushed back by the jet stream.

"No good... Haku is a much better match for this kind of the opponent." He thought as he flipped in the air and landed next to Iseto.

"It's no use, I can't do any damage to her with taijutsu," Kimimaro said as he looked to Iseto.

"I've got an idea," Iseto said with a smile.

Chika watched as the two of them talked, trying to formulate some kind of plan to fight her with.

"It's useless, no matter what you do you can't beat me!" Chika said as she pointed her hands at both of them, getting ready to use the Hōzuki clans signature jutsu.

"Alright, that might work," Kimimaro said as he and Iseto had finishing planning, with Kimimaro seeing what she was about to do.

"Don't get hit by this next attack, otherwise it's over!" He shouted as he quickly dashed out of the way of a water bullet blast.

"You can't escape this jutsu!" She said as she continued to fire volley after volley of water bullets at both of them in a machine-gun fashion.

Iseto dashed from side to side, dodging all of the bullets with great skill before he jumped into the air.

Kimimaro did the same thing, however, he changed course and made a B-line right at her, dashing head-on as he created a shield of bone to deflect the water bullets that could withstand her attacks.

"No way!" Chika shouted as she panicked, not being able to see Iseto due to the sun blinding her eyes and Kimimaro being able to deflect her water bullets that could shoot through concrete.

Chika crossed her arms, knowing that the only thing she could do was wait to see where they tried to attack from so she could also counter their attack, knowing neither of them would be able to hurt her.

"Now!" Iseto shouted as he landed behind her, quickly slapping two explosive tags to her back and shoulders.

Kimimaro skidded along the ground and did the same, slapping one on each of her legs before they both retreated.

Chika tried to turn around and attack, but both of them quickly backed away with Iseto jumping behind Kimimaro as he used his bone shield to block more water bullets from her.

Chika had not seen what they had done and continued to fire more water bullets at them as she tried to break through Kimimaro's defence.

"Boom," Iseto said softly as the explosive tags suddenly exploded, ripping Chika's body into bits and splattering her all over the place.

"It worked!" Iseto shouted as he watched from cover with Kimimaro.

"She's not dead, just incapacitated for a short while, we should get the flag and quickly make a break for it as it will take her some time to regenerate," Kimimaro said.

"Alright, let's get the flag," Iseto said as he quickly ran over towards the flag and grabbed it in his hand.

"Let's get out of here." Iseto then said as he turned back to Kimimaro, with the two of them quickly making off having recovered a flag.

Chika slowly gathered herself in a blob of water on the ground as her face became visible, not looking happy.

"This isn't good... I didn't think they would be able to beat me like that... Just you wait till I rehydrate. I'm coming for you Kimimaro!" She shouted as she slowly crawled over to her water bottle.

Now Iseto and Kimimaro had the flag and were headed back to base with it as they had now made it into the large woods.

"Once we get back we should get back out there and take another flag!" Iseto said, clearly pleased with himself as his plan had worked.

Kimimaro was also surprised that he wasn't all talk and could back up his words. Seeming to be more than meet the eye.

Kimimaro was about to speak when he felt a sudden jolt run down his neck, causing him to turn around and block a slash from a sword, clashing in the air as he got a look at his attacker.

"Hattori," Kimimaro said under his breath before he pushed off and landed on a tree branch.

Iseto stopped once he saw what was going on, getting a good look at Hattori and noticing he was carrying a flag.

"Hold on a minute, that's our flag!" Iseto shouted.

Hattori smiled as he twirled his sword.

"Good of you to notice, Yuri was more than happy for me to take it, after all, she is my squadmate." He said as he pointed his blade at Kimimaro.

"And I will be taking that flag too if you don't mind." He then said.

Kimimaro wasn't surprised that she didn't want to fight her own teammate and it was something he had not planned for.

"Get out of here Iseto. I'll handle him." Kimimaro said as he got serious.

Iseto took a moment but quickly nodded and turned around as he jumped into the air.

"It's not use in running," Hattori said as he gave a nod of his head.

Kimimaro could sense that Gogi of the hidden rain was now on Iseto's tail and could only hope that he made it back to Yuri in time to help him.

She may have not wanted to fight against Hattori, but he was sure she would have no problem in taking on Gogi.

"It's time for me and you to settle the score once and for all." Hattori then said as he placed the flag down on the tree branch.

"I'll show you that I am more worthy of lord fifths attention than you." He then said as he pointed the tip of his blade at him.

"I agree," Kimimaro said as he raised his arm in front of his face.

"Time to show you my strength." He said as he allowed the bones in his arm to spike out slowly, giving him a menacing appearance.

"Let's do it!" Hattori also shouted as he took a fighting stance, getting ready to charge.
