22 Chapter 22: Jonin Level

After completing my first mission for the cloud A started to lighten up a little, Darui's report on my abilities also helped as well.

I spent a year building up a relationship with the cloud ninja, Darui was especially useful in learning about Storm Release. Yugito also came to talk to me often, surprisingly even Matatabi also liked to chat with me. Yugito wasn't against me flirting with her anymore however nothing had happened.

From my calculations we were only a few months out from the start of the main plot and while I'd love to go and see it I decided I had a more important job to do.

I had told A and Darui that I was leaving for a while and headed to see Yugito and Matatabi.

I was standing in front of two Yugito's but one had different coloured eyes as Matatabi had taken control of her clone. "I wanted to speak to you both privately"

"What about?" Yugito asked.

"I was hoping that Killer B could have joined us but I haven't been able to get in touch with him" I was disappointed I was unable to meet him, A didn't like how close I was to Yugito and Matatabi and wanted to keep Killer B away from me. It was a shame I really wanted to learn his Taijutsu style and mix it with my own. I also wanted to be friends with him if possible.

"It's probably best if he didn't come" Yugito looked rather awkward but given how Killer B acted it wasn't surprising.

"It's fine Matatabi could you fill Guki in on everything that happens here?"

"Yes, that would be fine." Matatabi nodded.

"Good here goes"

One by one I transformed in to the members of the Akatsuki, explaining their strengths and weaknesses, even their personal habits as far as I could remember them.

"Why are you telling me all this?"

"These men are hunting for Jinchūriki and they will come for both of you and Killer B. If you want to survive you need to remember what I have show you here today"

"Why are they hunting us?" Matatabi asked.

"They are trying to turn you back in to what you were"

"The Ten-tails?" Matatabi looked alarmed.

"Yes" I nodded.

"Ten-Tails?" Yugito asked.

"It is a beast of immense power and if it is revived then we will all be in big trouble" I remember how many died in the fourth ninja war from the ten-tails alone.

"I will remember what you have said and pass it along to Lord Killer B" Yugito said after thinking over everything I said.

"Good, I would appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone where you got this information, I don't fancy being hunted down by the Akatsuki"

"I promise I won't tell anyone" Yugito nodded.

"I will tell my brothers and sisters but I will make sure they don't say anything" Matatabi explained.

The only tailed beasts that talk to their jinchuriki were Yugito and Killer B anyway so I didn't see much danger there other than one.

"I will accept that, but please don't say a word to Isobu for now"

Matatabi gave me a confused look "Why?"

"I believe he and his Jinchuriki are both under the influence of the akatskui at the moment" I knew that the Mizukagi was being controlled, but Isobu was also a possibility and I didn't know if they could extract information from him or not.

"How? taking control of a tailed beast if very difficult" Matatabi looked worried for her brother.

"I believe the person controlling them has the Mangekyō Sharingan. I am sure of the Mizukage but Isobu could also be under their control"

"I thought the Mangekyo sharingan was a myth, only Madara Uchiha was said to possess it and their clan is mostly gone so who could control a Kage?" Yugito asked.

"I am not sure. I believe that Itachi Uchiha who killed his clan has that power, but my instincts tell me it's not him. His brother who survived is just a kid and doesn't have the normal Sharingan yet. There must be someone else who has that power and he must be very powerful" I wished I could tell her everything but I knew I would sound crazy.

Yugito was in deep thought and Matatabi still looked worried about Isobu.

"I understand but why have they taken control of the mizukage for?"

"Since the Mizukage has been controlled he has been killing off bloodlines and effectively weakening their whole country. If I had to guess I think that they are trying to weaken all the great villages so that once they have revived the ten-tails it will be easier for them to destroy them one by one. Also, Bloodlines like wood release have been known to weaken and trap tailed beasts, it makes sense that others might be able to do the same." I was never really clear on why Obito took control of the Mizukage and killed off bloodlines but that and the fact they were involved in killing Rin was my best guess.

"I see" Yugito was thinking it all over.

"Light, I have a request" Matatabi asked.

"What is it?"

Matatabi looked strange, she was struggling to ask whatever she wanted from me.

"Save my brother. Please" Matatabi bowed her head.

I can understand why it was difficult for Matatabi to ask and even to bow her head to me, all the tailed beasts are proud and none of them would do this easily.

"Of course I will" I smiled as I grabbed her shoulder and raised her head.

"Thank you" Matatabi smiled at me and the clone disappeared.

"I've never seen her smile before" Yugito said.

"I will miss you both" I smiled at Yugito. "Goodbye" I turned to leave and felt Yugito grab my arm pulling me back towards her. Before I knew it I felt Yugito's soft lips touch mine as she kissed me, I moved my arms to grab her waist, my body felt so hot it was like I was going to perform a fire style jutsu.

"Goodbye" Yugito whispered as she vanished from my sight.

I left with a smile on my face and headed toward the hidden mist village.
