28 Volume IV: The Senju Clan Chapter 28: Decision

"Before you go on. I would like to say that I'm not interested in becoming Hokage." Shisui said.

"And why is that?" Fugaku asked him.

As this was going on, Bokuto, who had been near Hiruzen, told him "Hokage-sama, I will be back with Tsunade."

Hiruzen was confused at why he was bringing Tsunade into the village while she had told both of them to not bother her for the time being. But before he could say anything, Bokuto teleported away from his spot.

"From what Shikaku-san said, I got the picture of myself as a naive young man." Shisui said.

"If you're talking about how Danzo tried to steal your eyes after knowing its use, it's because of my lack of better judgement. I wanted to appoint Fugaku as the next Hokage so that the masked person won't be able to control him." Then looking at Fugaku, Hiruzen subtly said "And yes, I know that you also have mangekyou sharingan."

Fugaku just nodded at that and the discussion continued on who should be recommended as the Fifth Hokage.

Hearing all of them just going back and forth Hiruzen spoke "Look, I wanted to post Fugaku as the next Hokage because of his experience in the war and he was inclined to have peaceful terms with the village and Uchiha Clan."

Before anyone could say anything, Shikaku said "I'm in favour of appointing Shisui as the next Hokage."

When they all heard that, they looked at Shikaku and Hiruzen asked "Why is that?"

Looking at each and everyone of the members in the council he said "All the Clan in Konoha have Clan Elders who are advisors of the Clan Heads. Isn't it?"

"Yes."

"The Uchiha Clan is also the same. So as his clan continued to grow angrier and more restless from their persecution, Fugaku-san eventually conceded to his clan's desire for revolution. Still, he expressed his dismay at causing the bloodshed of civilians, hoping to end it quickly and with as little harm as possible."

"What are you implying here?" Getting impatient, Murakumo the Clan Head of Kurama Clan asked Shikaku.

"Let's say, Fugaku-san became the Fifth Hokage. Then he will have to focus entirely on the village instead of the Uchiha clan. And I'm pretty sure that the elders of the clan will try to place the ones who will obey them in the seat of clan head, by saying that the Heir of Fugaku-san, Itachi is too young to be the clan head."

Fugaku nodded at that, because he also knew how power hungry some of the elders in his clan are. Hiyashi also understood what Shikaku was saying, as the same thing is happening in his clan in the name of his brother.

Taking a deep breath Shikaku continued "And as far as I can see, Shisui has the interest of the village more than to his clan and wants a peaceful atmosphere between the village and the Uchiha clan. So I would like to recommend Shisui Uchiha as the prime candidate for the position of the Fifth Hokage."

"The Senju Clan second that opinion!" When all the people heard the voice they looked at the source and found Bokuto with Tsunade "I also agree with Shikaku to recommend Shisui Uchiha as the next Hokage."

Couple of minutes earlier, Bokuto teleported to the position of Tsunade. He had marked her with the FTG seal so it was easy to locate her and he teleported directly beside her.

When he appeared out of nowhere, Tsunade just looked at him growling and said "I thought that I said I am on a vacation?"

"You did." Bokuto agreed.

"Then why are you here?" Tsunade asked him.

"They're deciding for the next Hokage." He said.

"So? I don't have anything to do with that." Tsunade said.

"I know. But you have to remember that, as the founder of Konoha, Senju Clan can be recommended too. Don't you remember?"

"I do. But, now Senju has an heir, that is you, I won't be interfering in the matters of Konoha.

"Oh come on. Even if I say that I'm a Senju no one is going to believe that because of this." Saying that he moved his shadows around.

Sighing Tsunade said "What do you want me to do?"

"I want you to hear the opinions of the other council members and come to your own decision." He said.

"That's it?" Tsunade asked.

"Yep. That's it."

Looking at Shizune she said "I'll be back in an hour."

"Alright, Tsunade-sama." Shizune said.

"Let's go brat." Tsunade told Bokuto.

"Alright." Saying that both of them teleported from the room to the Hokage Office.

As Tsunade was about to speak Bokuto said "We're camouflaged, no one can see us. So first hear what they all have to say. Then recommend your own candidate."

"Alright. But promise me that you won't show this technique to my sensei or my teammate." Tsunade said.

"Sure." Bokuto told her.

After hearing all of the discussion, Shikaku's statement made Tsunade come to a decision.

"Alright, I've decided. Make us visible." She told Bokuto and he did as she told him to do.

As they were visible Tsunade spoke "The Senju Clan second that opinion!"

When all the people heard the voice they looked at the source and found Bokuto with Tsunade "I also agree with Shikaku to recommend Shisui Uchiha as the next Hokage."
