14 Volume II: Konoha's Night Owl Chapter 14: Kirigakure Shinobis

It's been six months since I joined the Team Ro, and my role in the team is mostly for spying and information gathering. Thanks to that whenever we are doing patrol around the village, my job is to spy on the Uchiha clan as they have started to act up after three years of oppression from the village council. I know that if this continues them the village will lose one of it's founding clan and also will lose a huge amount of military personnel when the time of war approaches. Ko is still on about that the Uchiha is the menace of the village and all, but I just ignore that part and be a good teammate as I can.

For the past six months other than doing the missions with team Ro, I've been teaching Shika. Even though he's a smartest of his generation he's still a Nara Lazy bum. And I've seen it with my own eyes, so I started to train him in using shadow Ninjutsu and he's been picking it up like fish in the water. So I mixed up his training as general training and specialised training. In general training I imparted the marital arts I know as Taijutsu and made him work hard, I'm pretty sure that he's been cursing for some time in private, but I don't mind that. Other than that there's also the chakra reserve increasing and chakra control exercise, like the leaf sticking first, after passing that tree climbing, then the water walking. Every time he finish the exercise efficiently I will give him time to watch the clouds, which is his favorite hobby. He did try to complain to aunt and uncle about this, but all he got from uncle was silence and aunt just said that it's a good thing.

Well, after two months there were improvements in his form and his chakra. After knowing about his changes Inoichi-san ans Choza-san sent both Ino and Choji to be trained by, and I tried my best saying that I would be unable to do anything about their clan jutsu. But they just dismissed it and said that to just include them in the general training. Since Choji was a foodie, I offered him that if he finished the training each day I would get him delicious food and right after hearing that he agreed to train properly. As for Ino, well she was different. She's be going on and on about the time is being wasted here instead of playing with her friends. So I told her if she agreed to train properly,she will be rewarded with a book on botany. That did the trick and she also started to do the training with Shika and Choji. Well that has been what I've been doing in my free time from the Anbu.

Right now I'm going on a mission with Kakashi and Yamato. This was supposed to be a two man mission, but the Hokage asked Kakashi to take me with them so that I would be able to know how to work with two of the best Anbu operatives. Even though I've gone on missions with the team, this is a special case as it was tasked to kill hostile shinobi from Kirigakure, at the borders of Land of Fire.

Before leaving the village Kakashi had told me to keep up with him and to be always on alert as this is one of the higher tier mission of the B-Rank missions.

We didn't have a conversation for the past three and we still had some time until we reach the destination where the Kiri Ninjas are situated. Two more hours later Kakashi spoke "Take rest. We need to conserve our energy for the fight."

Agreeing with him we found a clearing to rest, when we reached there Yamato made a closed room that can accommodate four people easily. Looking at it I said "Cool."

"I know." Yamato said that with pride on his face.

"You, know. If you could do this, then you make bridges and other constructs right?"

"I can."

"Woha, that really helpful for missions huh?"

"It is." Kakashi said.

Then looking at us he said "This is an elimination mission. I don't want any kind of accident happening. So always be alert, even when fighting." We nodded at him.

After a half hour of resting we started to move again. It's a twenty five hours of travel from Konoha to the place where the Kiri Ninka are located on foot. So we took a break in every six hours for fifteen to thirty minutes.

After twenty seven hours, including break time we reached the place, where they were last located. From there we started to search for them with Kakashi's summon, Pakkun in the lead. Seeing his summons I thought 'I need to get my own summons to. Where do they get these summoning contract after all.'

Within half n hour we found our targets, and seeing them Kakashi told us "If the ones you facing are more formidable than you think, the call for help from the other two. Don't forget, team work will be the way to success." After he said that we attacked them, on the signal of Kakashi.

There were twenty of them, like a platoon. First I did was do the shadow paralysis jutsu, and I stopped eight of them in their track, Yamato also did the same thing I did but with woods, and Kakashi started to eliminate eache target we got in our trap. The rest six of them started to escape from the area, in different direction after seeing the Copy Ninja and a Wood release user.

As Kakashi finished of the ones in our trap he told us "You two go that way, I will go this way."

Saying that he went in the general direction where four of them went, looking at him I could see that he's almost exhausted after using the Sharingan to analyze the opponents so I told Yamato "I'll take care of these two, you can go with him."

Hearing that he asked me "Are you sure."

"Yes."

"Then I will leave it to you."

And he went after Kakashi, as he was out of the vicinity I called forth the shadows of the dead and send them into my shadow and went after the two Kiri Ninjas who went in a different direction from the other four have gone. So not delaying anything I chased after them and on the way I started to combine the Lightning nature chakra and Wind nature to my sword and also around my body to achieve the Swift release. After training for the past one and half years I was successful in creating the Swift release Kekkei Genkai. With that I reched the two Ninjas swiftly and sliced of their head from their body by my Swift Sword Style. Even after cutting their heads the ran upto twenty meters and fell down dead. Quickly deactivating the Swift release I extracted their shadow and sent it to my shadow.

After that was done I picked up their heads as evidence and went to the spot where we initially attacked. When I reched ther Kakashi and Yamato was there, as soon as he saw me Kakashi said "For disobeying the order from me, you will be punished as per the rules. Other than that good job."

I just nodded at that, since disobeying a direct order from the senior officer is always look down upon. And since he is a firm believer in the team work, I thought that it would be a simple punishment.

Then we left back to the village. And after traveling for twenty five hours with only one hour break we reached the village and gave the report to the Hokage.

Praising us for the success in the mission he told us to go back, but I stayed behind. Seeing me still in the office he asked me "What is it Fukuro?"

"Hokage-sama, I have a request."

"A request from you is rare." Saying that he signalled the Anbu guards in the office to leave, but there was still two more of Anbu left in the place which both of us noted. Understanding they won't go away from here, Hokage rose from his chair and neared me and said hold your breath. Then he Shunshined away from there with me and we reached at the back if the mountains. Reaching there he told me "Now you can tell me what your request is."

"Hokage-sama, I would like to study the Flying Thunder God Jutsu."

Looking at me he said "You know that is a forbidden jutsu created by the Second Hokage right."

"I know. I also know that the Fourth also used this Jutsu to defeat the Iwa Ninja in the Third Ninja War."

"Mmm, I'll allow it. But you will report to me if there's any improvement in that jutsu."

"Hai Hokage-sama."

"Good. Now come with me to my residence. I'll give you the original Jutsu and some of the notes left by the Fourth."

After that we went to the Hokage residence and he gave me enough time to read about the Jutsu from the scroll of seals and a some of the notes prepared by Minato on his version of that Jutsu. Copying it down I went to the Anbu HQ and when I reched there Kakashi gave me the punishment, which was I didn't get a off time for the next two weeks. The only ones who were happy about my suffering was the new generation of Ino-Shika-Cho trio.
