1 The Cliche Chapter 1

As a completely ordinary youth who seeks pleasure, enjoyment, knowledge, and satisfaction from watching anime, reading manga and comics, reading webnovels, playing video games, watching movies and tv shows, and many more internet stuff, I never would have expected that I would get transmigrated into the World of Naruto after death.

A world where you can only enjoy by watching and not living in it. It's not even a joke, after all, death in this world, especially by murder is very common.

Furthermore, I have taken over the body of Hyuga Neji, one of the major supporting characters of the story. What's reassuring though, is that the original Hyuga Neji had apparently taken over my body back on my Earth too.

Unfortunately, for him, his memories would be sealed and only be awakened after he turns sixteen, the same age I died. Unfair, but I can't do anything.

I would have been satisfied being transmigrated in an ordinary family, but why the Hyuga? This sucks.

Although he is in my top ten list of favorite characters of the story, with Rock Lee being the first, he still dies.

I am just a lazy bum who has got no motivation at all. I am the kind of guy that would be satisfied with just facing my computer all day and night. Even if I had no money, I am still just a 16-year-old juvenile who can just leech off of my parents' money until maybe I graduate college?

Just how am I supposed to react?!

Furthermore, I now have to work hard in order to prevent my death at the upcoming Fourth Great Ninja War.

That's because my death has already been predestined. Even if I don't die from being skewered by the ten tails, I would still die in another way during that time.

And the culprit of all this is a damnable system. Although I can't blame it for giving me a second chance at life, I still find my death quite fishy.

Being hit by a truck and getting transported to another world... fishy indeed. I doubt that the system might have a connection with it.

As I stared at the blue semi-transparent screen floating before me, I reluctantly clicked on the confirm button.

With that, I easily passed out, luckily I am sitting on a tatami, or I might have just hit the ground after losing consciousness. F*** this system, it did not even give me a warning.

...

As I open my eyes, I was sure that something definitely changed. I could now feel something special within my eyes.

My psyche has already completely fused with my body. All the training and complete memories of Hyuga Neji had already been downloaded to my brain.

Holy! I know Kung Fu!

I subconsciously "tapped" on the special feeling in my eyes and took the stance for the Gentle Fist Art.

Byakugan!

My vision blurred for a split millisecond before recovering only for all the colors to disappear, replaced only by an inverted black and white color scheme.

It was frightening but honestly exciting at the same time.

Damn! This is sooo...cool!

Following my muscle memory, I started to "dance". So this is how it feels to shadow "box".

As my mind and body fused together, I was beginning to understand why Neji was called a genius. I stopped after a minute and sat back again on the tatami.

I wanted to check out how Neji lived until now.

As my memories fused, I am now starting to remember Hyuga Neji's memories. From childhood until now. It was definitely a weird and unbelievable experience!

Like mine that was dull and uneventful, his was not that far off, even worse to be exact. With only a short time having spent with his father, his childhood was taken away from him.

That's when his life became as dull and uneventful as mine. Although compared to others who have never even had seen a glimpse of their parents, it did not seem that tragic, but it made me appreciate and respect my own parents even more.

It went without saying how important parents to a child was.

After Hyuga Hizashi's death, Hyuga Neji's life only consisted of training, studying, eating, and sleeping. He rarely smiled, and even when he smiled, it would be about the memories with his father. And after he smiles, his heart would be filled with even more hatred to the main family who basically controlled the lives of those in the branch family.

I touched my forehead, it was there... the Juinjutsu placed by the main family when he turned 4 and Hyuga Hinata turned three.

What a life. Especially for a child, it was terrible. Thankfully, our god sprinkled Neji with talent, otherwise, it would have been even more terrible.

But damn, what a genius indeed. I could feel my heart race as I remembered how Neji, driven by hatred and his talent, easily dissect the advanced Techniques of the Gentle Fist Art restricted only to the main family.

Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin, Eight Trigrams 64 Palms, 32 Palms, 16 Palms, and so on.

As a 12-year-old capable of doing that made his future limitless only to be killed for progress.

I can see it, the force... coursing throughout my body. So this is Chakra and the tenketsu.

I pressed my thumb on a tenketsu on my wrist and damn, it hurts. Although I did not use chakra to block the flow, it still hurts. If I hit an ordinary man with this, he would surely be jumping in pain.

I smile and a grin formed. I was thankful, thankful that Neji was like this. A genius who worked hard.

However, his character was bad, not low key at all. I have to fix those. That issue is unacceptable.

A powerful man should learn how to be lowkey, the most powerful man only has the right to be arrogant, condescending, and have the right to brag.

Although I don't really like Hyuga Clan's hierarchical system, I am still weak and unable to do anything. I now have the Juinjutsu that can kill me with me even fighting back.

I should be lowkey. If I want to live and not die in the next war, I should train harder.

Maybe... if I can train like Lee, I might have Guy teach me how to open the Eight Gates.

"System, show yourself!" I called out.

A blue light flashed before me and a semi-transparent screen appeared showing my stats and some other function.

Gentle Fist Art: Advance Level

Gentle Fist Art- Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven: Advance Level Tap for more...

Gentle Fist Art- Eight Trigrams 2 Palms, 8 Palms, 16 Palms, 32 Palms, and 64 Palms: Advanced Level Tap for more...

Looking at my Status Panel, I easily understood how it worked.

"Show me how the levels and rankings work," I instructed. It was a very good system with easy controls.

The screen flashed...

Personal Level: Student, Genin, Chunin, Jounin, Kage, ???

--- All Basic Attributes much reach 10, 20, 50, 80 100, ??? respectively.

Mastery Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Mastery, Perfection, ???

Rarity Level: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legend, ???

Easy to understand. As expected there are levels above Kage Level. Otherwise, where would those aliens come from.

"Show me the Shop!" Although I knew that I can command the system with just a thought, I could not help saying it out loud.

The screen flashed again and it showed the shop.

Pills| Weapons| Armors| Customize Shop

I clicked on the Pills, to my surprise, only level 1 was lit up and all the other were grey.

Healing Pills | Antidote Pills | Berserker Pills | Stamina Pills, Agility Pills | Strength Pills | Chakra Recovery Pills | Hydration Pills | and Food Pills

Wow! I was shocked. Anyone who played games would understand that using these pills could either grant a temporary buff or just one-time immediate effect.

Healing Pill: 250 Shop Points

--- Completely heals all physical injuries of a Genin Level, 30 percent for Chunin Level, and no effect on Jounin Levels in 15 minutes.

Antidote Pills: 500 Shop Points

--- Completely Cleanse off Level 1 poison in the body.

Berserker Pill: 500 Shop Points

--- Forcefully raise a Genin Level to Chunin Level. Drawback: Basic Attributes will be halved for 3 days.

Agility Pills: 100 Shop Points

--- Temporarily raise Agility of a Genin Level to Chunin Level. Only Works on Genins.

The same with Stamina and Strength Pills.

Chakra Recovery Pills: 250 Shop Points

--- Completely recover lost Chakra of a Genin Level in 15 seconds. It only works on Genin Levels.

Hydration Pills: 100 Shop Points

--- Hydrate the body for 3 hours.

Food Pills: 100 Shop Points

--- Make the body full for 3 hours.

This was just Level 1 Pills. Imagine Level 2, 3, or higher. The effects would surely increase. However, looking at my 0 Shop Points, my spirit was instantly dampened.

Since I had no money, I just moved on to check on the Weapons. Just like the Pills, these Weapons were just Level 1.

Sword | Knife | Spear | Gloves | Dagger | Shuriken| Kunai | Hammer | Axe | Rod | Paper Bombs...

Well, it sure is filled with cold weapons.

I clicked on the Shuriken.

Shuriken: 5 Shop Points

--- Normal Shuriken. Nothing Special.

Kunai: 8 Shop Points

--- Normal Kunai. Nothing Special.

Paper Bomb: 50 Shop Points

--- Creates an explosion that has a 1-meter kill radius and 3-meter effective radius.

Damn! Too expensive! I thought about actually buying hundreds of Paper Bombs and just kill my way through. But too expensive!

I didn't know how to get Shop Points yet, but I knew that it would not be easy.

I did not even bother looking up the others as "I" specialize in Taijutsu, furthermore, I train in the Gentle Fist Art where it requires precise control and in no need of weapons. I believe that supporting weapons would be best matched to me. With my superior eyes that can see through anything with thirty meters, I could probably excel at throwing weapons and trap activation.

If I had these eyes back on my Earth, I could basically become a super soldier, capable of becoming a one-man army. Of course, with the right equipment and training.

I checked on the Armors and I was again surprised.

Samurai Armor

Leather Armor

Leather Armor: 5000 Shop Points

--- Useless armor. Easily penetrated. Don't buy it.

Samurai Armor: 1000 Shop Points

--- Normal Samurai Armor. It can effectively block or weaken slash, pierce, and blunt attacks depending on the power. Nothing special.

Only two? I chuckled at the Leather Armor's description. Indeed, they are just found in games and some movies that believe Leather Armor is effective.

Customize Shop: 2 Slot Available

--- The host can design any weapon or armor and set the materials used. The System will automatically check the design flaws. The System will also provide materials and calculate how much it costs in Shop Points.

I could only sigh. I was really right to believe that nothing is free anywhere.

I am a calm and collected kid. I might be a juvenile, but I have watched and read many books and accumulated enough "knowledge" that helped my mentality grow.

There is no point in being greedy, I already have a system, and that is a huge advantage.

"System, show me how to earn Shop Points," I commanded and the screen flashed again.

-The Host can earn points by completing Missions. There are three types of Missions, namely, Main Mission, Triggered Mission, and Special Mission.-

-Main Mission is fully connected to the main plot of the story. No matter what, your existence will not greatly impact the world-building of this world, especially the main events that will occur in the future.-

-Triggered Missions can be activated by someone asking for help and or a task given to you. The rewards will be calculated by the system according to its difficulty.-

-Sub Missions can be parts of Main Missions or Triggered Missions with different rewards.-

-Missions can be ranked from SS Rank to D Rank Missions.

-Rewards will be calculated through Completion Rating. A Mission Complete with Completion Rate below 95% will only reward you with the same percentage of the reward. But a Complete Mission with a Completion Rate of over 95% will still grant you all of the rewards. However, any lower than 30% Completion Rate will not give you any rewards.-

Simple enough. But I still can't figure out how much Shop Points I get since every mission has its own reward and not fixed.

Well, I'll find out later.

I stood up and stretched out my muscles. Compared to my previous body which was weak and was used to my bones cracking, this body felt full of energy.

I don't, no, I know what's going to happen in the future, but I won't try to prevent it from happening. I will just try to survive.

In a world full of scheming, killing, and hypocrisy, there is basically nothing that I can do except survive from my impending doom in the next war.
