About romance, please remember this book is about Naruto first and foremost, If I desired to write a romance focus book, I would write multiple chapters of dramas, dates and heartbreaks.

But I do that here and Naruto loses it's charm, it's a balancing act.

I know how much everyone loves their realism, but do keep in mind this is the Naruto world, here Sasuke's looks rein supreme and Gods are defeated by multi harem jutsus. Suspension of disbelief goes hand in hand.

Writing about a world like this requires the use exaggerated emotions and misunderstandings, they are an integral part of the world, the best I can do is try to rationalize it.

Onto the story!

* Cough Cough *

Hiruzen's cough brought both Anko out of her fantasies and Mizuki out of his thinking.

The Third then nodded to Mizuki, giving him a knowing smile that seemed just as perverse as the one Jiraya has.

Fixing his expressions smoothly Hokage then turned towards Anko with a helpless smile on upon his face.

" Anko, you just sit this one out, I think it would be better if I am to test Mizuki, it has been a while since I have moved my old bones! "

But Anko was totally not having it.

" What?! Why Hokage sama! I can do this, we can start fighting now! "

Hokage gave a chuckle as he broadened his smile and told both of them

" Oh I know, given the chance you two will definitely start ' fighting ' right here and now.. looking at you getting lost into each other I can tell that much, but we are not looking for a fight like that today.. "

Getting Hokage's innuendo, in public even, Anko finally got a slight blush to her, though mostly having her brash persona, Anko was never one to always hide her emotions like some doll, she was not that type of Kunoichi, not because she didn't want to, but because she was no good at it, genins saying something that piss her off? She'll wreak them, got a dango she liked? She will happily start eating on the street, hiding emotions was a field job for her, something to try with enemy ninja, and this was no field, so when she was feeling an actual connection with someone for once, and Hokage just went ahead and made it clear everyone could see, she was flushed.

' What is Hokage sama doing?! Infront of all these students too! And now the lot of them are looking at me like I am some sort of scum?!? Well excuse her while she beats them senseless! '

As Anko decided to roll up her sleeves and give the almost genin group a taste of hell, but quickly Mizuki stopped her, with his hand on her shoulder.

" Now now Anko san, clam down, they are genins, you don't need to do this. "

' ..... '

Anko's could feel her quickening heartbeat, a while back she would have brushed him off and went to beat them up either way, but now she was feeling concious. It was as if she didn't want to disappoint him, would she stop if someone else told her? naah she was certain she wouldn't.. but if it was Mizuki..

* Thump thump *

Anko was pretty sure this has just evolved into something more than a crush for her, she did not have prior experience, but she had a feeling she was starting to fall in love, this was how she had always imagined it would be like, even a glance from Mizuki was starting to feel intimate to Anko, much less him directly stopping her like that.

Anko silently stood quietly for a second and then decided to book it to the nearest tree, in an attempt to get away and hide herself for a while.

" Ha- Haha I was just kidding, come on Hokage sama fight fight! Mizuki give it your all! I.. I am supporting you! "

There she said it, she said she supported Mizuki infront of Hokage as Hokage was about to fight him, she really hoped he gets the hint. And Hokage sama isn't too mad.

But it looked like her worries were unnecessary as Hokage sama simply laughed out loud as he said something along the lines of young love, while Mizuki's little fan group, which was quickly starting to get on her nerves, were almost taking out their shurikens and ready to fight her to death it seemed, well they were welcome to try! She will kick each of their asses to oblivion!

Flicking them all off Anko decided to ignore the fuming fangroup as she decided she doesn't want to miss out on her Mizuki's fight, she knew he was strong, but she doesn't know how strong, she wanted to know, for future reference and everything!

Meanwhile Mizuki had managed to put two and two together a while ago. As he thought dryly

' She likes me..? All I did was flirt back, to get back at her as she started messing around... She must have gone through some crazy mental gymnastics to think it was something serious... And now the Hokage approves it too...! Fantastic! How the hell am I to handle this mess.. Shit. '

Today Mizuki wasn't having a good day, all kinds of things started popping up, first the academy students messing around and now the Third, who he remembered was just as much of a closet pervert as Kakashi from the show, was giving his blessings to him and Anko all of a sudden? And Anko was taking this seriously as well?! He needed to fix this.. he can't exactly just go along with this, Anko wasn't a bad girl, but he at least needed to figure out what sort of mental gymnastics she did, one cannot simply start loving another out of nowhere, her psyche must have connected and triggered multiple emotions together, be it from her starting with actually getting a crush on me and going from there or my words touching her weak spot and she made up her mind from there, many things could have happened and Mizuki will find out what it was exactly. Leaving something like this for understanding later was a fool's endeavour. Mizuki wasn't about to do something that dumb.

Cracking his neck as he hid his thoughts and gave Anko a thumbs up with his everpresent sunny smile. He turned towards Hokage who also slowly receded his smile as he saw Mizuki getting serious.

' Ooh, nice gaze he has, focused and clear... Sigh.. if only you were here to see this Minato, Mizuki reminds me of you all the time, from the moment I had my eyes on him, it was like you have come back, he even took care of Naruto in your stead.. If the age wasn't wrong I would truly feel you have reincarnated back from pure land, to give care to your son that I couldn't.. I am truly a not fit to be the Hokage.. I couldn't even keep Naruto safe. I had promised you in vain.. '

The Third Hokage got slightly emotional as he took his battle stance. If he was anything like Minato, he would give him a good fight. Hiruzen was looking forward to that.

But at the same time Mizuki was confused, even all this while, all he could sense from the Hokage were actual emotions. Mizuki was even starting to doubt his own judgement, The third Hokage had made many extremely grave decisions, he simply couldn't match the man infront of him with a man who can make such cold blooded decisions. Something was wrong here, Mizuki could feel it, nobody was that good with mirco expressions to fake it for so long, there was something extremely wrong going on with the case of the Third Hokage.
