" Wait your assessment is today?! How come it's so quick? "

Iruka rushed out with Mizuki as he followed his friend.

As if remembering something, Iruka started telling Mizuki, in a slightly happy tone.

" That reminds me, Hokage sama had called me a while back for asking about Naruto, I had managed to put a good word in for you as well while I was at it, I can't do much, but hopefully this helps you out just a little. "

Mizuki turned and looked at Iruka who was smiling sheepishly, and he resisted the urge to tell him he didn't manage to include my news in, Hokage managed to take it out of him. Iruka was just trying to help, Mizuki wasn't about to rain on his parade.

Trying to enlighten Iruka about the corruption in the village would have zero benifits and only harmful consequences, Mizuki wasn't about to go out of his way to do something completely illogical like that.

As they started leaving the class Naruto perked up yet again as he saw Mizuki going out.

" Mizuki sensei! Where are going?! Let's go have some ramen! I think I still have some money left.... "

Naruto quickly started searching his frog purse, but got deflated just as quickly as he was coming out with just some coins and a stray butterfly...?

' How did that get in there? '

Thought Mizuki as he saw the weird scene, he decided to just believe it was Naruto putting it in to make it feel full or something.

' The whole konoha was supposed to be your back garden as Hokage's son even the vast Uzumaki clan land was your property, as your mother was the last non refugee surviving member of Uzumaki. You were supposed to have everything in the world.. and look at you now, thanks to the village you can't even afford to celebrate by eating cheap ramen. It's either expired instant noodles or spoilt milk for you... '

Mizuki shook his head as he smiled at Naruto's awkward laugh.

The village is truly blessed Naruto is Ashura, he is simply impossible to corrupt, hard wired to be ' warm and sunny ' from birth to death. If that wasn't the situation, it won't even need pain to destroy konoha, Naruto would do it before him.

" Alright Naruto, it's no big deal, it's your graduation today, my treat, come up, I'll be back in a while "

It wasn't just Naruto who was listening to Mizuki talk, it was most of the class, Mizuki was kind of an adored figure within the class, not only was he an understanding teacher, he was a warm person in general, that combined with his recent supernatural upgrade in looks have made him quite the popular figure indeed, not only within the class but the whole village.

So it wasn't Naruto who responded to Mizuki, it was Ino.

" That's not fair Mizuki sensei! I put in a lot of work for graduation too! Why only he gets to party! "

Choji too called out, but his foucus was on something different entirely

" Yeah sensei! You can't just take Naruto to eat like that alone! What about me! I heard there is this new- "

Before a fuming Ino could give the food loving akimichi a piece of her mind, a lazy boy cut both of them off

" Troublesome...if you want to go, just go, stop making so much noise, I am trying to sleep. "

Mizuki seeing as the whole class was beginning to stir trying to get in on the party, just raised his hand to quite them down, and to the immense jealousy of Iruka and teachers everywhere, the students actually listened and became quite, looking forward to what Mizuki would say.

' Bastard, they don't even do that when I scream my lungs out. '

Ignoring the crying Iruka in the background, Mizuki started telling all of them his side.

" All right everyone, I hear you, it's a party, but we can't have that now, I have something to do, we will be back in evening, whoever wants to join, is welcome to come. "

Ino celebrated with jumping and throwing her hands up in the air while Kiba celebrated by throwing himself down on the floor, with his dog on tow... Basically all kinds of celebrations were going on in the class but Shikamaru managed to get out of his happiness quickest, as his version was just an imperceptible smile.

Raising his head slowly as if it was a lot of effort, Shikamaru asked Mizuki

" Sensei, you said we aren't going now, but the academy doesn't have any more work..? "

Mizuki internally pinched his eyebrows at this, he made sure to choose his words correctly, but Shikamaru managed to concentrate on the slight discrepancy anyway.

' This is why having tons of connections is a problem, too many minds too fool results in not enough technique being used. But I had to make my connections with the clan heirs as strong as possible... Sigh, I don't want them messing around my business right now but I guess I can attempt to twist this to my needs... This is what they call you gain some you lose some I suppose. '

Giving Shikamaru a ' friendly ' smile Mizuki said out loud

" Yeah, today isn't only your assessment you know, it is mine too, I am giving the Jonin assessment in about an hour. "

All Mizuki could see was a slight surprise in Shikamarus face before a whole lot of screaming ' kyaaaas ' and ' yeeaaahs ' took his attention away, the loudest of them was Ino.

" Mizuki sensei! I want to see it! Take me take me! "

Kiba barked ( heh ) out loud too.

" Yeah sensei! You will pass the assessment for sure! Then you can become my Jonin sensei too..! "

As if a light bulb had gone off, everyone realised they could have their chill Mizuki sensei as their Jonin guide now, a cacophony of immense proportions was created.

Mizuki resisted the urge to smile at his attempt to lead the topic to a required path being successful.

It was a hasty decision, being taken on the spot, so it wasn't well thought out, but Mizuki's mind being what it was had managed to find a way to use this to his advantage anyway. The first step would be to get these heirs to follow him to the assessment. Whether they manage to or not, the thought will be what counts.

As he roughly made out many ' choose me sensei ' and a few more ' kyaaaas ' with some weird cult like discussion going on in few places, Mizuki once again excercised his authority, even though he wasn't their teacher anymore, the clan heirs have developed a healthy respect for his authority throughout this month. It's nothing they won't forget over time if not reinforced, but the happy memories they made are definitely something which will remain a lifetime, and Mizuki was well aware how such feelings worked. He wasn't a teacher in his heart after all, his teaching wasn't only to make sure they survive, it was to make sure he survives too, so the connections he makes here are vital. He will make sure they stick around.

Mizuki's excercise of authority worked and the students quickly became quite but eager at the same time as they looked towards Mizuki, giving his warm smile Mizuki said to his audience.

" Class, I am giving a Jonin promotion assessment right now, I am not quite sure if academy students will be allowed in there to watch. "

Noticing the disappointment creeping up on everyone's face Mizuki gave them a cheeky smile

" But that doesn't mean we won't try! Let's go! Asking Hokage sama isn't a problem after all, I am sure he will make an exception for all of your hard working graduates! It is your graduation day after all! "

" Yattaaaaa! "

Naruto finally managed to get his word in as he was once again overwhelmed by the entire class with cheers of happiness.

Meanwhile Mizuki looked on with a smile as he thought giddily

' Let's see Mr kind old man, how you handle the army of clan heirs at your doorstep now '

Was Mizuki planning something? Was he having one of his long term setups, or was he simply being petty and getting back at the Hokage for setting him up with a forced assessment? That is something only for Mizuki to know and others to contemplate.

Mizuki just works in mysterious ways.

I gotta say, I underestimated my readers. I had a feeling Mizuki's audience with Hokage was going to be risky choice to write, and I was correct, but even amongst that, some managed to see through what seemed obvious and pinpoint the actual intent.
