Chapter 3 I'm not Jealous

'Training was supposed to be easy and it was but it was so dull, doing repetitive motion just to ingrain the motion into muscle memory.

It doesn't help that Chikao keeps adjusting the training to not allow my body to get used to the training.' Ritsu kept swinging his wooden sword.

At the moment Ritsu was warming up for the day.

He woke up every day at least an hour before the earliest Clan shinobi would wake up.

Using the time he had to watch the videos on fuinjutsu and other videos.

At times he would forget how much time has passed and it didn't help that in the land of water it was very difficult for Ritsu to determine if it was dawn or not.

Within the first couple of weeks of training early Ritsu's body naturally made a biological clock.

March

Since the time he had reincarnated it's been three months, and every day Ritsu has been spending his time training, meditating, and practicing calligraphy.

Along with all this training came nagging from his mother of going out and spending time with the other clan children and everyday Ritsu continued to ignore her requests.

To release his stress while at the same time training his aspect of being a ninja, he took a little inspiration in a certain someone.

The first time occurred when Ritsu went to Chikao's house at night and used the brush for fuinjutsu and drew all over Chikao's face.

He proceeded to do what any kid that had the guts to draw on their best friend's face would do, that was to draw...

Anyway the morning came which led to an angry Chikao chasing after Ritsu as he was the only one who knew how to use a brush so well especially so when there were so many details within the drawing.

This led to Ritsu having to undergo grueling training for the following month and half till Chikao was proud of Ritsu's shuriken and kunai throws.

August 24th

'Todays the day. My mother just went into labor just a couple of minutes ago.'

Ritsu had just come back from training and headed home as it was evening.

He received the news that his mother went into labor.

Ritsu was just outside of the room along with his father sitting waiting for the news, as they watched the matrons going back and forths carrying water and towels.

Eventually Nao, Ritsu's father, starts to pace back and forth.

Time passed and they heard through the wall, "Congratulations madam it's a girl!"

With no hesitation Nao went through the door too excited to see his newborn daughter.

However to his dismay the matrons sent him back right out as the baby needed the first five minutes of seeing to be with their mother.

As the time came up both Nao and Ritsu entered the room.

As Ritsu's father sweet talked with Tamami.

Ritsu activated his identity ability on his newborn sister.

Ritsu, after reading the last sentence of the summary, had three tick marks appear on his face.

Nevertheless he didn't let it get to him as his mother asked him if he wanted to hold his sister after seeing him eye the baby.

Ritsu accepted and held his baby sister with such a strong gaze that the adults felt the strong brotherly love emanating from his eyes.

However, they would have never known Ritsu's true thoughts as he looked at his sister.

As Ritsu held his sister, 'I'm going to have to leave a brotherly imprint on her so she will do her best for the clan even if it meant the cost of her life.

Of course I won't marry her off if she becomes a strong shinobi, but I won't let her marry a scrub on the street.'

Reaffirming his thoughts Ritsu shows an enlightened expression, 'Why start with my sister when there are clearly others who 'will' be willing to die for the greater good of the clan.'

—-------------------------

A man in a dilapidated building is washing his face with water from a bucket.

The man had woken up late today, his age is getting to him.

As he sees his reflection his eyes linger a bit onto the cross scar on his left forehead.

Chikao reminisces the past sighs before heading out for a walk around the compound.

Looking at the sky, although its cloudy Chikao could still make out the time of day, 'It's the early afternoon' he thought as he walked around the compound.

The usual sight of the little kids running about is nowhere to be seen, 'It's been like this ever since that day.

The day when that devilish brat gained a sister he's been going around the compound challenging the kids.

At first it was acceptable as he was beaten by the kids as they were older and received more training.

However with the training Eito and I had given him he grew strong fast and with spars from the older kids he quickly gained combat experience.

In around three years he managed to subdue all kids under the age of twelve.

He had them call him young master, and he soon gained the adoration of the younger children.' Chikao recalled before his face smirked,

'He's splendid, the Sage of Six paths must have seen our circumstances and given us a miracle' Chikao mused.

'There is still much to teach him' Chikao thought as he tried to think of what to teach Ritsu today.

As Chikao finished his daily walk around the compound looking for any discrepancy of intruders, something he has been doing for decades.

Finding nothing, Chikao walked to the training ground where Chikao taught Ritsu.

It was to the North of the Clan compound where thick forest and foliage resided.

Noting that day has more fog condescending, Chikao blended into the background before quickly moving stealthily to the meeting place.

Chikao arrived at the meeting place within seconds as it wasn't too far from the Clan's compound, however Chikao was surprised after arriving at the meeting place.

As soon as he was about to arrive he sensed two presences one was clearly Ritsu however, the other's chakra presence he had never felt before.

Just as Chikao arrived he caught a glimpse of the unknown presence throwing shuriken that nailed the target dead center and what was more surprising it was a distance away and the target was moving.

It would not be surprising if Ritsu was the one throwing the shuriken as he managed to do the exact same thing around two and half years ago.

It was surprising since the one throwing the shuriken was a young girl.

Typically clans just trained the male clan members and it was never needed to train the female clan members leading it to eventually be frowned upon.

However upon closer inspection Chikao realized the young girl was that devilish brat's sister.

If he recalled correctly the young girl should be a little under three years old.

It was known throughout the Shinobi world that kids should not have their chakra activated till the age of four as that age was where most of the chakra nodes were unblocked naturally.

There may have been some nodes that were slightly blocked but once the child has activated their chakra that will naturally unblock any semi blocked nodes in a year's time.

However right in front of Chikao the fluctuation of chakra flowing from Ena, he lost focus, 'Sage of SIX PATHS you have blessed us, this is the rise of the clan.'

Ena had chakra that was higher than any other children had unblocked beforehand.

Chikao was lost in thought and was about to head down from his hiding spot in the tree, completely forgetting about the ambush he planned to give the devilish brat.

He intends to use his chakra to sense the situation of Ritsu's sister hoping there weren't any hidden injuries.

If there weren't then he will convince the clan to raise her as a weapon.

Just as Chikao regained his bearing he realized that the young child was looking at him.

Thinking it was just coincidental decided to move his hiding place, while Chikao moved the girl's eyes traced after him as he was not moving too fast.

Now thinking that it was not a coincidence Chikao retreated a bit further back, relying on the heavy fog building up in the forest to cover him quickly while zipping at his top speed to the opposite direction of where he was before while suppressing his presence and chakra.

As Chikao was a sensor ninja he maintained focus on the young girl, seeing the young girl standing still, Chikao thought she just had some capabilities to be a sensor.

However his heart dropped when he saw the girl with no hesitation turn around looking once more directly at him.

Chikao was once again fantasizing about the great future of the clan before being pulled out of his fantasy with a tug from the back of his clothes.

Quickly noting the devilish brat to his side, however to Chikao dismay he realized he couldn't use his chakra to sense the brat at his side.

He would thought he was seeing things if it wasn't for the pull on clothes affirming that the brat was indeed at his sides.

Just as Chikao was troubled trying to think back, when did he lose the presence of Ritsu.

Ritsu showed a smirk infuriating the old man, "I guess Eito is still the better teacher if you couldn't sense me old man. You must be getting old."

Exasperated by the lack of Ritsu's manners, Chikao let out a long sigh before quickly regaining his bearings, "When did you unlock her chakra?"

Seeing Ritsu ignore him Chikao once again let out another sigh, "Young Master, when did the young lady unlock her chakra?"

Satisfied with Chikao's way of addressing him, Ritsu nodded, "I helped Ena activate her chakra this morning and also this was the first time she ever used shurikens.

Now tell me that my sister is awesome."

Chikao was in the clouds fantasizing about the clan's future prosperity.

Perhaps they may also occupy a piece of land in the land of fire.

Chikao believed that the two children had the potential of kage individuals and once these talents were nurtured to their fullest potential Chikao was certain that the Karatachi clan would be unhindered for the next fort—NO, the next eighty years.

However as they walked to where Ena was waiting for them Chikao fantasy were quickly dashed as he came to the realization that Ena was a girl the clan would never approve of her training to be a shinobi.

More so if she's the daughter of the clan head.

No matter how dire the clan's situation was they wouldn't make the women of the clan train as shinobi as they still had pride and confidence to guide the clan to prosperity.

Ritsu noticed the thoughts of Chikao, "Old man who said we needed approval? As far as I'm concerned I told my parents that we went to play at the lake with the other kids."

"They would notice that you were lying" remarked Chikao as he knew that the Lake was to the east of the clan compound, "Especially if the kids all headed back without you".

"Not if you threatened to beat the other kids if they went back before me and my sister were with them.

Also today we won't be training as I just wanted to show how much talent my sister has and also it's time for lunch; the other kids should be hungry about now.

I'll try and set up times so you can help train my sister too."

Chikao nodded to the arrangement as he believed it would be a waste of potential if they didn't train the little girl.

He wouldn't be reporting this to the rest of the clan as that would hinder the training of Ena.

They came to an agreement and were about to depart when Chikao stopped Ritsu, "I forgot to ask.

You know I've been a shinobi for around fifty years and I may have been in decline in my strength but I am still confident in my sensoring ability, so tell me how you avoided my detection."

Ritsu smiled before responding, "It's a secret" as he raised his index to mouth.

Chikao looked at the devilish brat in front of him remembering about the times Ritsu acted differently from the other kids showing a more mature thought process but then he recalled all the mischievousness Ritsu had performed on all the clan members throughout the past three or so years.

Sometimes he couldn't help but worry if Ritsu would bring prosperity or misfortune to the clan.

"Very well then keep your secret," Chikao proceeded to quickly return to his home as he jumped from tree branch to tree branch.

Once Chikao was far away Ritsu turned to his sister who had a starry expression in her eyes,

"Brother you are so awesome Chikao didn't even realize that you place tags on his back" said Ena.

As she recalled the tags saying 'Ritsu was here! And I am a grumpy old man.' Ena giggled.

Ritsu smiled while patting Ena's head, "Sister, once you train for another hundred years then maybe just maybe you will be as capable as your older brother."

"But I will be an old granny in a hundred years" pouted Ena

"Don't mind the small details. Let's get going, the others should be waiting for us."

They then proceeded to run, as Ena still couldn't jump between tree branches, towards the east to the lake disappearing off in the distance.
