1 A New Start

Konoha, Year 38.

The Second Shinobi World War has just reached its end, the world had finally restored a brief peace, and the Five Ninja Villages are silently recovering their wounds.

Konoha, The Land of Fire is located in the center of the mainland. Although the streets are still busy and the villagers live their lives peacefully, as long as you look carefully it isn't hard to find the faces of past ninjas and their cold faces. The situation remains very tense.

Morning breeze, a touch of coolness. Mekka Junrei tilted his head to a side and walked silently on his way to the Ninja Academy, thinking about what the future might entail for him.

It's been almost 5 years since he came to Naruto's World. As a war orphan adopted by Konoha, Junrei has been working hard to train his body, but since he had no guidance, he has never seen or understood what Ninja training entailed.

When he transmigrated, God didn't give him an invincible System or any OP abilities, so Junrei is right now just an ordinary little kid that can no longer afford to be ordinary.

He is fortunate to have been born in the relatively peaceful Hidden Leaf Village. As a war orphan, if he wants to survive in Konoha, there are more ways than to just become a ninja.

You could earn enough commissions by yourself to rent a shop and live on it.

Looking at the enrollment papers laying in his small hands, Junrei pondered for a long time, and finally went in the direction of the Academy.

As a common person, he may be able to live well in Konoha in the present. And in the future, this World will have both, Naruto and Sasuke to save it. As long as a commoner can survive past the 2 disasters that will struck Konoha on the future, the Chunin Exams and Pain attack, they can live in this village.

But since he finally transmigrated to this Naruto World. If he didn't put his hearth into becoming a ninja, he would inevitably develop many regrets in his young heart.

Although being ninja is a profession that comes along with a high death rate, he's inevitably overwhelmed by emotions everytime he thinks of those extremely strong Ninjutsus that he saw on the Anime.

On his previous life, Junrei led a peaceful life for more than 20 years, but the blood within his body never managed to died down, and occasionally there was some small fantasies that faintly appear on his heart.

The atmosphere of the Ninja Academy is just like on the Village, very lively and full of emotion. A big banner on the gate has written "Ninja Academy Opening Ceremony", a group of 4-5 years old children were standing in front of the gate while chatter sounded continuously.

For these children, being a ninja means being able to rise above from the rest and gain the worship of villagers. The danger that the Shinobi life brings with it is still far away for them, or maybe simply no one has told them, after all, most of the children here are just war orphans.

He stood in the crowd, waiting quietly.

About this group of 4-5 years old children, Junrei has nothing to comment. In addition, the years of depression ever since he transmigrated to this Naruto World have also made him, who did not like to make small talk to begin with, become even more silent.

Before long, a ninja wearing a flak jacket representing his Chunin status, came over and led the group of children away.

The Academy enrolls school age children around the whole village. Whether they belong to a clan or are just from common upbringins, they can enter the Academy to study. But, it's not necessary for everyone to come to the Academy.

But in case they do want to enter, they must first pass the assessment of Endurance.

The assessment is simple: 200 laps around the training grounds.

Chakra is a combination of spiritual energy and physical energy, and the fights between ninjas require a strong body and a high willpower alongside it.

200 laps is not a small number, but since this World is full of Chakra, every child's physical fitness is already very good, and they only need to spend a few years of preschool to start basic training.

Junrei has also done some basic training, and 200 laps is not difficult for him. Even for those among the younger generation of a Noble Clan, this level of running is just a warm-up for normal training.

The soft sunlight sprinkled on these children's faces through the sparse branches and leaves, and they could be seen running hard for their own goals.

As part of the leading group, Junrei's eyes were fixed on the boy who was currently occupating the leading spot.

He had white hair, with a black mask covering half of his face to compliment it, a pair of lazy looking black eyes, and a green scarf.

"I didn't expect to stumble upon Kakashi on my first visit to the Academy, maybe we will be sharing terms!" Junrei secretly though in his heart.

He didn't mind being in the timelight while he trains at the Academy. He wants to get a good Jonin as his Team Leader when he graduates, and for that he must show or at least pretend he has a high talent. No one without talent will gather attention.

Any Ninja Village's control over Ninjutsu is extremely strict. Apart from the regular, father and son relationship, most people still teach Ninjutsu under the name of master and disciple. If he can get an excellent Jonin to teach him when he graduates, it could be very beneficial to his future development.

As for being too showy or exposing too much, whether it would result in being caught by Orochimaru or Shimura Danzo, Junrei doesn't really care, even from the bottom of his heart, he even has hopes to be noticed by any of those two people.

Because once he joins them, it means that he will get access to better Ninjutsu, and maybe even get a chance to learn a Forbidden Jutsu.

Lifting his spirit, Junrei chased after Kakashi with renewed strengh.

If he wants to be placed on the spotlight, the best choice is to get first place in this Entrance examination, especially while beating Kakashi, who has been already reconigze as a genius, and was also the son of White Fang.

Realizing that someone was going to catch up with him, Kakashi turned back to glare at Junrei and then raised his speed to open up a gap between them again.

Some kids belonging to Clans were also not willing to be left behind by a commoner, and so they also raised their speed to catch up with Junrei. For these Clan kids, it can be understood to lose against Kakashi, but if they lose to a mere commoner, the blow to them will be huge.

At least their Clan will pay less attention to them.

Transmigrated since a few years already, Junrei had been doing basic training based on some of his previous life experience. Although not necessarily better than the standard training of a ninja, his advantage is that he has an adult soul. Compared to these playful 5 year old childrens, he at least will not be as lazy.

Although these Clan Younger Generations have already started training Chakra, the little Chakra is just simply not worth mentioning, since will soon be exhausted. Once they have none at all, it will be Junrei that will end up surpassing their time, as long as he can endure.

Soon, the leading groups also began to distance themselves from each other. Kakashi always led everyone, Junrei also clinched his teeth to catch up, keeping himself five meters behind to finally occupy the second place.

He found that no matter how hard he tried, Kakashi always kept himself ahead, and every time he accelerated to catch up, Kakashi was also able to accelerate the distance.

The two contested each other, and after 2 final laps, Junrei didn't manage to close out the distance between them.

Full running at 200 laps exhausted all of his strength, and he was now supporting his knees with both hands and trying not to let himself fall on to the ground, Junrei turned his head to look at Kakashi who was just slightly panting. While gasping for breath, he said: "It seems you're not exhausted yet".

This had been the first time he had ever spoken to a child of the same age ever since he came to this World. Even if he has an adult soul, Junrei couldn't stop himself from complaining in his hearth about Kakashi's talent. If there were no subsequent changes to it, maybe, perhaps Kakashi's strenght on the future would be far beyond the original work...
