Waking up, I hurriedly exited my tent, and started placing my belongings in my inventory, preparing to continue my travel to Shinhana

I was already two days into my travel to Shinhama, nothing really worth mentioning has happened so far, except for me flying into a tree by accident.

I have forced to take frequent breaks, due to weather, chakra fatigue, and regular fatigue.

But I'm still expected to reach Shinhama at noon today, as long as I don't run into obstacles, which is quite fast.

It would normally take a team of ninjas about five days to get to Shinhama, and a week for merchants, but for a single ninja, they can arrive in around three days, this is due to the fact, you don't have to slow down for a member, or rest because one is tired.

But it's also very dangerous, if you accidentally run into an enemy it almost certain you will meet your demise.

Although the Third Shinobi War is going on right now, it should be perfectly safe to travel to Shinhama even if it's close to the border.

Looking at my map and compass, I retraced the route I was taking to Shinhama, before placing my foot on a tree, and started moving at extreme speeds towards Shinhama.

Moving through the forest, I arrived at a road usually used by merchants, this means I was very close to the entrance of the city.

As I approached the city gates, I saw an unbelievable sight.

"What the hell?!" I exclaimed loudly, the entire city was in ruins.

Moving back into the tree lines, I equipped my Anbu Uniform, which was working like more of a disguise for me at the moment.

Approaching the ruined city, I walked around the rubble, looking for survivors.

After a long while of searching, I sadly didn't find a single person, I could blame it because I was unlucky, but I knew it was the lack of skill.

Preparing to exit the city, I started moving towards the direction I entered, I would have to return to Konoha, and mark this expedition as a failure, and most likely find a different supplier for my shop.

On the way out of the city, I noticed some rubble moving, 'A survivor!' I thought as I ran over to assist.

Reaching the spot they were trapped at, I easily pulled the rubble off of them, revealing a young kid, about four to five years old, with ashen gray hair, and blood flowing off the right side of their head.

'Kabuto?' I thought, immediately recognizing him, 'That would mean Nono Yakushi is near.' I thought before picking the Kabuto up.

At the moment, I didn't know the severity of Kabuto's injury, but I did know that Nono could heal him, just like she originally did.

Exiting the ruined city, I saw Nono as soon as I exited, it made sense that she would be quite close to where Kabuto would be found.

She was a young woman with shoulder-length light-brown hair covered by a white coif and emerald green eyes. She wore a black, loose-fitting gown with a white apron over it with sandals, making her look similar to a nun, she also wore circular glasses.

Approaching her, she was quite surprised to see an Anbu here, she was alright quite familiar as she was part of the root for a while, so she kept her calm.

"You're Nono Yakushi right?, I need you to heal him." I told her before setting down Kabuto gently against the trunk of a tree.

Nono had a worried expression on her face while looking at Kabuto's wound, she placed her hand up to his head, before it let out a gentle green glow, and the wound started healing rapidly.

"Is he also a survivor of the battle?" Nono asked with a gentle voice.

"Yes, I was about to leave the city after searching for survivors, and found him right before I left." I explained to Nono.

"How about his parents?" Nono followed up with.

"…"

"I see, I guess I'll take him to Konoha orphanage with me." Nono said, already knowing what my silence meant.

I wasn't exactly sure of Kabuto's parent's fate, he could have already been an orphan here in Shinhama, but I knew I wouldn't been able to find them, let alone save them.

"There is no need, I'll be taking him to Konoha with me, I owe a debt to his parents." I told Nono, even if I didn't know the fate of his parents, maybe, just maybe, If I tried to look for them, instead of rushing to Nono.

Maybe they would have survived…

Even if it's just a slight chance, that it's my fault, I'll repay them, by saving Kabuto from the tragedy that would befall onto him.

Nono finished healing Kabuto, as he opened his eyes, Nono asked in a gentle voice, "What is your name?"

But Kabuto didn't say anything, "His name is Kabuto." I said chipping in, as he technically has amnesia, and he would be named this later on.

Kabuto didn't deny, and instead gave a small nod, "Ah, I see, what a wonderful name!" Nono said with some enthusiasm.

Approaching Kabuto, I picked him up before setting him on my back, I would have to carry him on my back while I travelled.

Turning back to Nono, I thanked her, "Thank you, Nono, I'm not sure if Kabuto had been able to make it, if you weren't able to heal him." I said, thanking Nono.

"You know, your Anbu disguise isn't that convincing." She responded to my surprise.

"So what gave it away?" I asked, still shocked she saw through me so easily.

"All Anbu members have a tattoo on one of their shoulders exposed by the uniform." She explained with a chuckle.

"I see, well you're correct, I'm not part of the Anbu, but how did you know I was Konohagakure?" I asked, still feeling a bit dumb.

"What do you mean?" She asked in a confused tone.

"Well, you didn't attack me because you knew I was from Konoha right?" I asked, surprised that she didn't know.

She let out a small laugh, before explaining, "I'm no longer a ninja, you had the simple request of healing that child, if you would've attacked me after that, we would have, but you just decided to leave." she explained

It made sense, she wasn't a Shinobi anymore, just a caretaker of the Konoha orphanage, she wasn't worried about Kabuto, since I knew his name already, and he confirmed it, it seems luck was on my side we didn't have to fight.

"I see, well, since my cover is blown, I'll introduce myself, my name Is Kara Uchiha, I hope we meet again soon in the future, Nono Yakushi." I said before I started to jump tree to tree, not giving her time to respond.

'What an interesting young man' Nono thought to herself watching my disappearing figure, her face wearing a warm smile, before she returned looking for survivors in the rubble.

Well, it's been a long night of reading through Kabuto's backstory, Uhh I know he's supposed to be two years old when he is found, but the timeline around now is when he should be leaving Konoha orphanage to become a spy, so I made him a few years older, its more of an AU now lol, also I didn't proofread this, so big rip if there are spelling errors.
